Participantslurpeez – That’s such a great catch! I’ve noticed that his uniform had an emblem on it before but never really paid close attention. I have to say that this one made me LOL because what a great example of how screwed up this town is. The emblem of the town’s school is a symbol of a book with a line cutting through it. Kind of like “No knowledge allowed” – just the kind of place I want to send my child for a quality education! 😆

Participantbelleoftheball – that’s kind of what I think too. That’s what I meant by saying that for Rumple all magic always comes with a price and for him the price is to live with the pain of his loss. I think that somehow he believes that by allowing EQ to inact the curse that Bae will somehow be brought back and that he is willing to live with his pain if therte is even the chance of a happy ending for him (something similar to what MM says). I don’t think he wants to forget Bae so even if the curse doesn’t bring Bae back I think he would rather remember Bae and live with the pain than forget about him. The same goes for Belle. He feels horribly guilty over what he “thinks” happened to her, but I think he would rather remember her – especially because of his guilt – than forget all about her. But I also think he needs to remember in order to make sure that the curse works to bring Bae back. I think there are some parts of the curse that only he still knows about and that only he can help Emma with so he had to be able to remember.

ParticipantYou know, Regina didn’t know about the book MM gave to Henry. I bet she doesn’t know about the book MM recommended to David either. The school obviously has books – and we saw some of them, Regina knocked some off a desk when she went storming out of MM’s classroom in the pilot after she accused MM of giving Henry her credit card. I’m guessing as Mayor of Storybrooke Regina has approval rights over school curriculum

ParticipantI also wondered about the beating scene. At one point Moe gets this completely perplexed expression on his face but I have no idea exactly WHY he looked totally puzzled. By the time Gold says “You were her father” he has been beating the crap out of him for awhile so I don’t know if it is realistic to expect Moe to respond one way or the other – whether he really does have a daughter or whether he had no idea what Gold is talking about. In the last episode Emma made the comment that there aren’t any other missing people in Storybrooke, so unless Regina is somehow forcing Moe to go along with whatever her plan is for Belle, it doesn’t sound like Moe had a daughter who suddenly disappeared and ended up in the looney bin because you would expect him to report her as missing. The only thing I have been able to come up with as far as Moe’s puzzled expression, is that just like Regina used Moe to take the cup, she also took Belle and is somehow threatening Moe with her and telling him he has to keep quiet or she will hurt her. Maybe that is how she got him to rob Gold’s house in the first place. Since Gold seems to still believe that Belle is dead she must have always been locked up in Storybrooke from the beginning. So maybe Moe’s puzzled expression is that he was shocked because it sounded to him like Gold knew about the situation with his daughter and it took him by surprise. If she has always been locked up, it would be surprising to Moe to hear Gold talking about his daughter if he believes that he and Regina are the only ones who know she even exists.
But it’s really hard to say – because the feeling I get is that the OUaT show Gods were taken totally by surprise with how popular the Skin Deep episode was and I feel like they have decided to add in more Belle in the finale and next season only because it was so popular.

ParticipantSee, I’m telling ya – it all goes back to the characters being able to think for themselves. Once they begin to think for themselves, they start to have flashbacks of who they really are. And isn’t a library full of books a great way for people to start thinking for themselves? You read a book and start to theorize about why a certain character behaves a certain way, then you start to draw parallels about your own life. For the Storybrooke characters they would be reading about things they have never experienced before. It would almost guarentee they would choose to deviate from their Storybrooke course = thinking for themselves.

ParticipantOh, wow. I hadn’t thought about August saying that he doesn’t lie but then lying anyway because he is Pinocchio. Pinnochio was my first theory for who AWB was but then I went off on several tangents. Honestly this is driving me crazy. I spent a good part of yesterday researching lemurs and Nepal trying to come up with ANYTHING!! What I don’t get with the Pinnochio theory is why would EQ say that AWB seemed familar to her? That would lead me to believe that he would have to have been someone who was close to her in FTL. And aside from the fact that in the original (Disney version anyway) story version of Pinnochio, he didn’t spend any time hanging out with an EQ, we saw Pinnochio hard at work with Gepetto creating the wardrobe right up until the time the curse with inacted. This means that Pinnochio wouldn’t have spent any time with the EQ in FTL so he wouldn’t seem familiar to her. I would also assume that Regina knows everyone in Storybrooke so although some people are saying that he might have been in Storybrooke the whole time, I don’t think that’s the case. So he would have to be someone the EQ knew well in FTL to seem familiar to her in Storybrooke. I keep going back to the lemur legends of them being the spirits of dead ancestors.

ParticipantI don’t know, I’ve wondered about that. I’ve actually thought about asking RC about it at one of his Twitter sessions. I can’t tell if it is just the lighting on the show that affects the color or not. It seems like his make-up has gotten less “chunky” since the pilot – it had a lot more texture to it in the pilot. I think they really toned it down for Skin Deep to bring out more of his humanity. But other than that I can’t tell. Sometimes he looks green, sometimes he looks gold, sometimes he looks grey, sometimes he looks more glittery.

ParticipantI guess we will find out here in a little while but since the episode has a little girl playing the part of Snow in it, I wonder if perhaps Snow as a little girl unintentially revealed that the EQ had a relationship with the Stable Boy. Like maybe she didn’t even understand what was going on but maybe said something about seeing her with the Stable Boy or mentioned that she spends a lot of time in the stables or something. Something that an innocent child wouldn’t even recognize as revealing a secret because she would be too young to recognize that it was a secret, or didn’t understand that she said something that revealed the secret because she was too young to understand something. That would explain why Snow kind of matter-of-factly answered “yes” when James (or was it the Huntsman??) asked her if she really did ruin the queen’s life. So technically she DID ruin the queen’s life if she was the one who brought attention to the fact that EQ was in love with the Stable Boy if that led to his death. But if she was only a child and didn’t do it intentionally, that makes for an interesting twist. If it happened when she was a child she must not have known about it until later because after EQ killed Snow’s father Snow seemed to trust the EQ and the EQ was pretending to love Snow.
