KeymasterActually I changed the topic because I’m interested to see what people’s opinions are about Neal and Gideon.
But honestly, in a really heated debate about something people are passionate about, sometimes people are going to get a little combative.
There is a difference between debate and insulting other posters. I will reopen the Hot Seat if people promise to not insult one another and can actually talk about the Hot Seat and not devolve into counterproductive arguments.

KeymasterI recall you not applauding them for bringing in Black Fairy as Rumple’s mother. It was done fine in the show but I thought, and I could be wrong, that you felt they only brought Black Fairy in bc it’s something the fandom wanted and since the fans wanted Rumple’s mother, they decided to make it the same person and you did not like that, at least I thought.
But that’s 100% different from what we’re discussing. I didn’t like that they brought in the Black Fairy as Rumple’s mother. I didn’t think that was well done in that episode. Also, what I think is fine = / = what you think is fine because TV is subjective. I’m allowed to say “I did not like this”
Pretty much disagree with everything here considering where the plot is now and how good the dynamic between her and Rumple was in the last episode.
Yes, it’s a good dynamic now largely because Bobby and Jamie are allowed to play off each other for more than 5 seconds and there are real stakes, like Gideon, which there were not when 610 aired. It was not when the revealed the twist that BF is Rumple’s mother, at least in my opinion. The show has been hinting at Sneaky Fairy for a long time so if they did suddenly reveal it, I’d enjoy it.
And I’m not sure what this has to do with anything given we’re talking about Blue, not Black Fairy, and again I’m allowed to not like things and I’m allowed to like things, and I’m allowed to change my mind if I feel the story is well done, as I have done in the past and usually will acknowledge.

KeymasterI feel like you, or perhaps it was many other people but not you, said that if they did decide to reveal Sneaky Fairy it would only be because they are appeasing the fandom, just like why they brought in Black Fairy at all.
Well, first, I’ve never said that. Second, I’ve long theorized that Sneaky Fairy is Sneaky but gave up on it because it seemed unlikely given how little Blue Fairy is used, even lately with a whole fairy storyline. Third, no they obviously never planned it from the start but that doesn’t make a story line bad if it’s done well, which is exactly what I said (“if they do it well”). If they execute Sneaky Fairy is Sneaky well and it doesn’t feel hamfisted then of course I’ll applaud it. I’ve always applauded something that I feel was well executed and stayed true to any of the thesis’ of the show

KeymasterSo that Writers Strike looks more and more possible each day: WGA Strike Authorization Voting Underway This would not only effect OUAT, but all scripted shows, if the strike happens and isn’t settled fast enough. With Upfronts happening very soon, this would be very bad news for the networks.
The vote will happen on Monday, it looks like. I found this article to be really informative about what’s going on with the writers and their unions. With ABC being a fire dumpster right now, a full on writers strike is going to hit them incredibly hard.

KeymasterYeah, this is the last shot to reveal Blue Fairy as Sneaky Fairy. Honestly if they do it well, I would applaud the heck out of it. I might even squeal in delight because it’s been a theory of mine for so long that Blue is shady as heck.

KeymasterOkay, I’m gonna redirect the conversation back to SF/Neal
I’ve been wondering lately how Neal would react to having a little brother, and moreover a brother who was taken by the Black Fairy and warped into what Gideon is now.

KeymasterI don’t know where to put this, but Jennifer Morrison got the majority of her hair cut off. It doesn’t exactly prove anything, but i would consider it evidence that she might not be coming back. https://www.instagram.com/p/BTG4NBolRqQ/
1) Ooh. I like that haircut
2) Wonder if it’s for her new role in the play (it’s a play right?)
3) With extensions she can be Emma Swan’d again by July no problem.

KeymasterSo again, while you say that you critique all ships and that you still welcome CS fans, they likely don’t feel welcome bc you’re overwhelming love for SF has subconsciously made you harsher on CS, and in my opinion, on Hook.
That’s fair but honestly. That’s just fandom. Not just OUAT. But all fandoms. I had to stop going to other forums because of their very pro-CS/anti-SF slant. Just like my overwhelming love of SF might make me harder on CS, then the opposite is also true. I cannot stress this enough: there was a time when the CS thread was much longer than the SF thread and it had its fair share of Neal bashing. A lot of it, right along side their love of Hook and CS. It’s how fandoms, shippers, operate. Hence why ship threads became safe havens around here.
There are some places that are incredibly pro SQ that I don’t frequent. I pretty much avoid all the OUAT tags on Tumblr because it’s very heavy pro-CS anti-SF. This is just how fandom works. For any fandom. As an SFer I don’t really feel welcome anywhere so, yeah, I stick to my little OncePodcast bubble because there are like minded people here.
And like you said there are many of us who do say nice things about CS/Hook when they happen but you act as if it’s only one or two of us and that’s not fair. Several very pro-SFers have stated just within the last few pages that Hook doesn’t bother them as much/is more tolerable/ect than he used to be. Don’t paint us all with one brush please

KeymasterI actually appreciate @darkonedearie ‘s contributions, though I think I can count on the fingers of one hand the times we agreed Of course, once the conversation gets shaped around trolling for lulz — which is what I think this last iteration is — there’s nothing particularly interesting about i
I agree. And I also like DoD’s contributions though the only thing he and I have ever agreed on is that Edward Nygma on Gotham is awesome. But yes, this current iteration has some different hallmarks.
I’m really just asking that we try to be respectful, guys. We’re getting to that special boarderline place this time around.
