KeymasterI bet it’s about true love
Yup. Duet between Hook and Emma?

KeymasterAlso, does anyone else feel like this episode might be a giant waste of time?

KeymasterThe tin man is a POC so he is probably going to die because that is what they do to most POCs on this show eg Tamara, Marian, Merlin, Gus. Either that or Zelena will return to Oz to be with him and we’ll never hear of him again.
*sigh* Yeah.

KeymasterA drunkard? When has Hook been wasted and not giving a crap in the last two seasons
I think there’s a difference between wasted and using alcohol as a coping mechanism. It’s actually become an in show joke. How many times–just this current arc!–has Hook’s love with rum and his drinking been an actual dialogue joke? I can think of at least 3 or 4. And this isn’t actually against Hook per se but more about the writers have some truly questionable senses of humor.

KeymasterIn flashback, Zelena befriends a young woodcutter who has been cursed and turns to her for help finding a new heart. Zelena is forced to choose between keeping her powers and her friendship with him.
O…kay?
I don’t know how that makes sense but okay.

KeymasterAnyway, the only purpose of the flashbacks is to introduce this flower which could have been done without ruining season 1 mythos.
Yes this is a big part. Like if they want to bring up another MacGuffin then okay, I’ll criticize that cause omg really another one? But it’s more of a roll my eyes sort of criticism instead of a giant (really, this is giant) reton that doesn’t just tear down S1 but it also ruins a lot of the shows mythology.

KeymasterWell Rumple prophesied she would return on her 28th birthday. So that was always going to happen.
Return = / = become the Savior. Rumple said that she wasn’t the Savior until her 28th. That’s not true.
Snowing wanted their daughter to live happily ever after with her true love, like they did for years. It was them sacrificing their happiness for their daughters’ once again. Not sure why that needs rationalizing for you
Well if you read some other things I’ve said about this you’ll know that I said we needed a scene in which Emma has some internal angst over this. Because she has a baby brother who would grow up the way she did, which she would want to prevent, plus it means her parents–the people she searched for for over 30 years now–would fall into a forever coma. Like, I’m not asking for her to not go after Hook. I’m asking for her to be conflicted like any other human being.
I thought TIGER LILY ran in a different direction when HOOK & EMMA went through the door. I was under the impression she had her own agenda … maybe she wanted to go back to her people…………. Why would she want to go thru a door where she knows / has said their was a great evil and a war was going to begin?
That’s how I saw it as well. But nope, let’s Hook bash instead. It does come so naturally after all.
Okay I think the criticism I have in mind here is less about Tiger Lily running away and more about the fact that Hook nor Emma, if she saw Tiger Lily, mention her or even say something like “hopefully she got away” because the Lost Boys were seriously about to kill both her and Hook.
Y’know it just dawned on me…wasn’t Moe supposed to be in this episode? Looks like we got a cut Belle/Moe scene or a cut Rumbelle/Moe scene.
I think it would’ve been Mary Margaret buying the flowers at Moe’s shop.
Oh nice idea!

KeymasterGuys please watch the spoilers. I’ve had to tag several in a few different threads.

KeymasterBoth @runaroundmacy and @Phee sent this podcast my way. I haven’t had a chance to listen yet but I’m going to. It’s a podcast about Supernatural but at the 10min mark or so, they begin to discuss television writing and what some of the signs that the writing staff has given up are. So even if you don’t know who the characters on SPN are or what the story is, the theory behind it should still ring some bells.

ALSO I am linking this review of last week’s episode (link cause of language) and about what’s going on with Emma Swan. Take a look at the side by side picture comparison of the character. It speaks to what @Slupeez has been pointing out about deliberate choices being made by writers, actors, and even the costumers/make up artists. I still don’t think it’s fully 100% deliberate but there’s no denying that those changes are there.
