KeymasterWere beignets an important thing in The Princess and the Frog? The way they keep saying it again and again and again and again, it’s as if it’s supposed to be fan service. It’s worse than Belle repeating “beast” ad infinitum — which, as a common word where I live, at least never burrowed into my mind solely as an overused catchphrase.
Yes they were a part of Tiana’s story in the movie (she wants to open a restaurant) but I agree that their constant reference is grating.

KeymasterOooh. This one actually piqued my interest. Rumple AND Alice? Cool!

KeymasterGENERAL: This was a decent episode; much better than the past two weeks. I was entertained and there were some decent character beats, but I still have 1000 questions and the clock is a’running out. I also think there was been zero set up for a lot of these stories (Facilier and Nick, for example)
Rating: 7.5/10
LIKED
–Those gingerbread men looked delicious; I don’t care how full you are, eat another!
–“I know who you are, Captain.” “It’s Detective.”
–The logo for the Rollin’ Bayou shirts is a lightening bug. Nice “Princess and the Frog” reference.
–“You can take the Dark One out of the pawn shop….”
–“I suppose no matter how far we come, there’s a nasty little piece we can’t lose.” “And we shouldn’t. Because it shows us how far we’ve come, and how much we have to lose.” That’s it. That should be the villain redemption thesis for all the villains. You can’t rid yourself of your darkness because it’s part of you, always; you have to reckon with it.
MIXED
–Hansel and Gretel are from Oz? Zelena’s Oz? As in Oz of Universe 1.0? How…? Why…? What…?
–Minus 5 pts for Belle being used once again as a way to manipulate Rumple. I really would have preferred that Rumple helped Zelena because no one deserves to be murdered. However, their interaction was spot on given the history between the two.
–Jack talking to Henry about how Henry made him into a hero really gives Jack some much needed color but it’s also too late. They should have lain the groundwork for this much earlier on in the season. We never got any of these grand adventures between the men. Once again, SHOW don’t TELL.
–I’m sure Kelly and Chad are sweet but it’s really hard for me to care about them as a pair when we literally just met the guy. I feel like so many of the problems of this season would have been solved if they had never tried to go with Rapunzel/Tremaine as a villain or involved at all. So much narrative space would have been freed up if we didn’t have all of that.
DISLIKED
–I really hate when flashbacks insert random characters we’ve never ever heard of and that play an important emotional beat in a main character’s backstory.
–Soooo is Zelena/Ivo pre-Hades, post-Hades? When in this messed up timeline are we??
–Facilier woke up both Nick and Drew in order to kill Gothel so he wouldn’t have to compete against her for the dagger. But when did Gothel ever mention that she wants the dagger? We need background, stat. They’ve got to stop waiting until the last second to reveal these things.
–I don’t care if you can be both, Zelena calling Regina “Roni” is strange and weird.
–The CGI of the fire wrapping around Hansel’s arms was terrible! His hands grew like 3x their normal size.

KeymasterThe only way I could see them actually reuniting would be in the afterlife because Regina dies, which would SHOCK me.
Yeah there’s zero chance Regina dies, imo. I mean they’ve had shocking deaths before–Graham and Neal come to mind–but to kill Regina in the final moments of the show…I truly do not believe Adam and Eddy would do that (plus everything I’ve heard from very Pro-Regina fans suggest that Regina gets a fantastic ending, one that is a nice capstone in her overall character journey and honestly I think A and E are past the point where Regina needs to pay for her sins)

KeymasterIt’s like taking the best of all seasons and jamming it into one — literally.
Umm…
I don’t quite get what that means. Does it mean the best moments of all the seasons (and if yes, who gets to decide such a subjective thing??) or does that the show will attempt to give us the biggest moment of #hope seen to date?
Also, I personally don’t want anything to be crammed into the finale. I want it to be a slow character study about how far people have come that simply reiterates some of the show’s more prevalent (if beaten to death) themes.

KeymasterI don’t know if the fans have a name for the evil half of Regina and the fake Robin, but they are different characters
I think it’s Dark Outlaw Queen but yeah, that’s the point I was making. The article says it’s everything fans would hope for and it’s Outlaw Queen but unless there’s about to be a time twisty back to life resurrection, then it can’t actually be 1) what fans have always hoped and 2) Outlaw Queen.
Maybe when she says “their beautiful dream” she is being literal, and it IS a dream.
Which is why this is the more likely situation or at least something like it.
In my mind, Robin will show up twice: once as DarkRobin who comes to the big family scene with the Evil Queen and then another as Original/Non Wish Robin who comes to Regina in a dream or memory or hallucination to help her with something. I’ve heard that Regina doesn’t end up with Facilier so maybe the Non Wish Robin is there to remind her that she can find love someday and he’ll always be with her, or something.

KeymasterSo same actress playing the witch that owned the bakery. Trying to understand how unless this version of Hansel and Gretel didn’t kill her.
It’s only a guess but maybe it has something to do with Zelena. Maybe we’re all wrong that Zelena is the Witch in Hansel/Gretel’s story and is actually saves them from being cooked and eaten? But then something happens after that causes Hansel to hate Zelena??

Keymaster….it is?
I mean, Robin’s dead. And Wish Robin is now engaged if not married to the Evil Queen. So….what?

KeymasterThis show barely has fight scenes, so it isn’t like there is going to be some big rescue
I don’t even think there’s going to be any sort of villain v. hero fight in the finale at all. Gothel is done by 720, iirc. I think the final two episodes are far more character driven than they are plot driven.

KeymasterA conversation is used for one scene. And in case you didn’t read carefully or wasn’t aware, Ginny and Josh have been filming for more than one day. This clues us that they have more than one scene. Yes, this conversation you thought of could be part of it, but judging by the days of filming, it wouldn’t be the only one for Gosh.
Personally I think it’s two scenes:
1) A scene with Henry in which they impart some sort of advice or wisdom or helpful clue that helps Henry with whatever is happening post-Gothel. This scene will also double as a way to check in with Snowing in general (how’s baby Snowflake? How’s Storybrooke? How’s life?)
2) The coronation scene (or what some people are predicting is a coronation scene) with the whole family. They likely have a more active role/speaking lines here than JMo did since it sounds like she’s only in a few moments of this scene. They just couldn’t film at the same time as JMo because of their pilots on NBC/ABC.
The first scene would take a good number of takes to film (possibly a whole day) and the second wouldn’t take as much since the coronation scene is big and involves many different vignettes.
