KeymasterSo here’s the big question. Let’s say we lose 90% of the cast–just Lana and Bex stick around. Would you still watch? Would you just check out the premiere of 7 and then go from there? Or would you say that S6B was the end and move on?
I guess I’ll answer my own question. At this point, sure. I’ll stick with it. Let’s face it, if I was going to run I would have run three years ago when, IMO, A and E reset their whole show and not in a direction I particularly liked. The characters are already shells of their former selves so having them gone isn’t going to make *that* much of a difference, I guess.
But honestly. Just end it. If the choice is to end at 6 or go on for another year as OUAT version 3.0, I’d 200% prefer it just be over.

KeymasterAgain with the “final chapter” feel. Maybe I should change my prediction for the finale title to a two parter: The Final Chapter/ A New Beginning (because they love themselves some Star Wars)

KeymasterA part of me thinks they’re waiting to see how ratings look for the first couple episodes before making a decision.
Thinking the same thing with regards to the decision. It’s interesting, though, because it’s not going to be a totally fair representation given that S6B still has our core characters. It’s still all about Emma, Regina, Snow, and Rumple and their significant others. The ratings could be low but steady but that’s not indicative of how S7 will go ratings wise *IF* they are planning on saying goodbye to half the cast at the end of 6.
It’s obvious that most people care about character over plot especially online
It’s obvious to you and I, to be sure. But I’m not so sure this is obvious to ABC. These are the same people who thought Castle would be *totes okay!* without Stana. I don’t even watch the show and even I knew that would blow up in their faces.

KeymasterThe new story would have to be something something amazing.
And this is the problem and philosophical debate that ABC and the writers need to contend with. The dedicated audience that has stuck with the show—have they stuck around because of the basic style and theatrics of the story (Disney and mythological villains and heroes coming to life and get up to shenanigans) or is it did they stick around because of the characters that have been around for five to six seasons?
If it’s the former–style of storytelling over character–then this show could go on forever. You just expand your database to include more mythology once the Disney well runs dry.
If it’s the latter–character development over style–then the show is toast once you lose the characters who resonate the most, in this case (based on internet popularity) Emma, Regina, and Rumple. The others definitely have their fans but those three are the meat and potatoes of the show.
I would argue that the dedicated amongst us haven’t stuck around for the story. In fact, most of us have been pretty harsh on the narrative and are sick of “the next Disney villain” and the never ending lather/rinse/repeat of the seasons. We’ve stuck around cause we’re invested in Emma, Regina, Rumple, Snowing, Belle, Hook, and Henry. We want to see what happens to those characters not what next BIG THING is brought on to the show.
If ABC and A and E doubt that, then I suggest they take a real hard look at fan reaction to ABC’s Castle and Fox’s Sleepy Hollow.

KeymasterI hope it’s not that long red jacket. I don’t like it. Looks like a Bellhop (that’s what their called right) uniform. Why not stay with her red leather or get a new red leather jacket. It’s her cape! Gah!
Wasn’t it her shield or a symbol of her Walls™? Isn’t it supposed to be a bad thing? Is it relevant to 5B only?
It’s a rather fluid symbol. It’s been her superhero cape, it’s her armor, it’s a representation of her walls….

KeymasterIsn’t Violets dad from our world? I wonder if they will ever do something with that.
Yeah, from Connecticut.

KeymasterIt now says Emma will wear a new jacked to series(current storyline) end. Instead of series end.
Do they mean the long red jacket she’s been sporting while shooting 19?
I just say, if they announce renew soon, at least let fans know who is leaving and who is staying.
At this point, I’m not so sure even ABC knows what they want to do. I suspect they are waiting to see what the ratings are AND how “Time After Time” does. They are low, to be sure, but consistent and not nearly as poor as some other soon-to-be-axed shows (Quantico)

KeymasterOnly thing I’d be wondering is, who’s Henry’s baby mama?
Violet, because that would be the predictable route and so they don’t have to develop a new character.
Yup. Violet as Henry’s future baby mama seems to be the only reason why they invented the character and occasionally have her show up. It’s not like they developed her much beyond that.
It is crazy that they are potentially losing their three biggest names with Jennifer, Ginny, and Robert.
I think it’s crazy that they would consider doing the show without those three.
