Ok, rewatched. The look on Rumple’s face when Felix is telling him that Rumple is welcome in NL, that Pan has no problem with him being here, is heartbreaking. It’s one of longing and wishing and also one of remembering something painful.

    1) Bless RC. Seriously, that man.

    2) It’s my own reading of that moment, but I think it adds more to the whole “Rumple as a boy in NL” theory.

On the plus side, we did get to see Rumple back in tight leather pants. 🙂

Let’s face it: this really is the biggest take away. 😉

Taking the whole context of the scene, Rumple’s reaction, and Felix’s, and dialogue from a previous ep, it made me think even more that the doll was Rumple’s.

Felix: “Isn’t it funny, the things we haven’t thought about in years…still have the ability to make us cry.”

Wendy: “When night fell, that’s when all the children started to miss their parents, and they cried through the night.”

They had Rumple fall to his knees, bringing him down to a child’s height, (they could have just had him bend down to pick it up). Then they had Felix crouch down, the way an adult often will when speaking directly to a child. In that scene, Rumple was a child again IMO, and the doll was his, the only remaining thing that was a reminder of his lost parents, and it made him cry just like all the Lost Boys cry over missing their parents. The way Felix spoke about it, sounded like this particular brand of crying that Rumple was doing is something he witnesses all the time.

This! That is exactly how I read the scene as well. And I’m glad you brought in the Wendy qoute, it fits really well.

Male, for sure. And very “basic”–something a little boy would play with long ago. Looks like something a parent or other relative made of a child out of whatever was around, not having a lot of money. Rumple’s father gambled so I’m betting he grew up pretty poor. Rumple and Bae weren’t well off, but they did sell their wool at market.

Both theories are totally possible at this point, but my gut still tells me it’s Rumple’s doll. Whether that means he’s PP’s little brother or not I don’t know.

Liam could be Hooks father, who is a part of Hooks backstory. Hook mentioned him in the last episode of season 2, that his father left him too, like Rumple did with Bea.

    Agreed, definite possibility.

    Maybe.
After D23, I’m like 99.9% convinced that 305 is a Hook episode, and they said that we’d learn how and why Hook came to be a pirate so I’m inclined to think that Liam is part of a flashback and is part of Hook’s past.

Totally excited! She looks the part!
Also, if they announce it soon, then she’s probably going to be in one of the first 7 episodes, maybe episode 5!

I don’t know. I think it was kind of a cute feature-ette. I’m not sure it is really anything more than that. It would be helpful to know when they shot it and when A and E decided to bring Ariel on board.

Either way, I think Rumpel is not around to help.

What if Rumpel pushes Charming over to create a distraction to keep the others from following ? We know he has magic, but so does Regina. He could hav also just popped out before.
The rough storm like portal would be enough to knock someone overboard, and it did not look like Emma had chosen a good spot (under the sail? those move!).
    So either works.

That’s good! I can see Rumple doing that in order to make a getaway.
