Given that we know Neal and MAP aren’t the central story of 301-304, I’d wager that MAP won’t be back until 305 at least. Possibly longer if 305-306 turns our to be Hook and Belle.

I’m not saying it isn’t possible that he’ll revert back to the Dark One. But the writers and producers do take their actors into consideration, is what I’m saying. If he returns, then fine. It’s part of the magic of NL. But as we don’t know how it works yet, then we can’t say whether or not he will return to his Dark One image.

New thought: they left when Grumpy decided he didn’t want to work there anymore; when he decided to go after Nova again. When he met Snow in jail the story he told was that he stole a diamond for a girl (gotta be Nova).

He’s getting paid, yes, but let’s not go overboard. RC’s acting caliber is Oscar worthy where the real big money is. The money they are getting isn’t anything to scoff at, but it’s not like getting paid dictates what they get to do to him. His call is like 4am when he has to be the Dark One.

1) One does not kill Robert Carlyle when RC has agreed to be on your show and is largely responsible for making it what it is.
2) I doubt Rumple will return to full on Dark One in NL present day. That’s asking a lot of RC.
3) I fully expect Hook and Emma to talk about Neal. I also expect that when that happens, it will flahsback to Hook trying to rescue Bae.
4) I think we will get glimpses of mermaids before Ariel makes her big appearance but I have to wonder if she’ll be bigger in part 2 of the season.
