KeymasterYeah, I agree with Slurpeez. I don’t think Rumple is worried about the “undoing” anymore. I think he’s accepted that he’s going to die and the final acts of his life is vengeance. He wants to hurt those who hurt Bae and Henry. And if he dies in the process, then so be it. It is about rescuing Henry on some level, but it’s more about avenging his son. Which is the “undoing” is going to be a bit of a surprise for him when he realizes it’s probably not death.

KeymasterThat’s really good, KFC. Part of redeeming PP might be trying to make him back into the 17 yr old he was before “whatever” happened, happened.

Keymaster*dying of shock* My goodness! I never would have suspected.

KeymasterAll these reasons we keep coming up with for why certain groups wouldn’t work makes me think they won’t be splitting up at all. Except Rumple, something tells me he’s going off on his own.

KeymasterAh, but looking 17 is different than being 17. Rumple looks 45 and is actually between 250-300. Same with Hook. He may look 17 but be 1,000 yrs old and have more maturity.

KeymasterRumple, Emma, Snow
Charming, Hook, Regina
The issue I have with this arrangement is that Rumple, Emma, and Snow are lacking an experienced swordsman, and Regina gets both of them. If you have two swordsmen and two magicians, isn’t it better to ensure that each group gets one of each? Emma can handle a sword but no where near the level of Hook or Charming. She can do magic but not as well as Regina and Rumple. The same with Snow when it comes to fighting (plus she prefers her bow and arrow) and she doesn’t do magic at all. Also, with this arrangement there isn’t a whole lot of room for the type of conflict and drama as you would have if Regina and Snow were in the same group. It does give Charming and Hook the opportunity to be snarky but that’s about it.

KeymasterI totally got the Star Trek reference here. 🙂
Thank goodness! I’m glad someone knows what I was doing. 🙂
I was raised on Star Trek. I find I slip it into conversations just to see if there are any other fans around me."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
KeymasterI’m not saying the would make him evil. A and E have already said many times that he is “complicated” which fits into the way they portray “big bads.” Regina, Cora and GOAT were/are complicated villains. I don’t expect PP to be evil for the sake of evil, that’s not how A and E roll. As for sympathetic, I go back to the “complicated” idea that A and E keep using. It may be that PP needs the children for NL; he’s not looking to kill Henry for the sake of killing Henry or even for himself, but to save NL. That’s a very complex story. Do the needs of the many in NL outweigh the needs of the one, in this case the life of one 11 yr old boy? Having someone else pulling the strings, either by obvious command or via heart without PP knowing, reduces PP to a minor part in what is going to be the Neverland mythology. Adding Ariel is almost in service of the fans who have been screaming for her since S1. Why make her myth and story the larger one when you can use PP’s story which is what S2 was all about setting up?
For the second half of the season, I can see them switching the big bad, but I’d wager it would be THO and not someone who was behind PP this whole time. Have you ever read HP? I forget which book, but someone tells Harry that while Voldemort may have been the most evil wizard of all time, his followers were just as bad and when Voldie was “killed” when Harry was an infant, many of them struck out against the good side just as bad a Voldie had. If THO looses their leader, they may retaliate against the SB’ers."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
KeymasterThat’s a good breakdown as well. I just wonder if Snowing would leave Emma alone with Rumple/Hook especially since those two are not really…friendly.
But Phee also makes a good point about “how would they communicate?” Though, perhaps, Rumple’s got some sort of magic doodad up his sleeve. Bless him.

KeymasterI keep going back to what Bobby said at SDCC which is that Rumple may have appeared to be on team JR6 in ASOTM but he’s really on his own mission. Maybe Rumple takes off on his own; maybe in search of GOAT for revenge while the others search for help or clues.
