PoM makes an interesting point; many adult actors struggle to go up against RC and come away even close to his level of amazing. But they did cast a 17yr old. They could have gone older, so many of us thought they would for this exact reason. The 17yr old does have some impressive history, like the PotC franchise and the Pinocchio movie (which I’ve heard many people speak highly of) so his acting ability has to be pretty good. I just don’t know if we can hinge an entire “PP’s not the real big bad” on the acting level of a 17 yr old when, like I said, even the adult actors can’t compare with RC.

I still think making PP just a pawn in the NL mythology is a disservice to a story A and E have been dying to do since S1.

Hmmm. We’ve got 6 people, two have been trained in magic (Regina and Rumple) two are excellent swordsmen (Charming and Hook) so you have to think practically.

Group One: Rumple, Charming and Emma.

Group Two: Regina, Hook, and Snow

Doesn’t this make sense on a lot of levels? Snow and Regina drama (which has always been one of the most central stories in the entire show); a magician on each side; keeping Hook and Rumple separate, a swordsman on each side; Rumple can teach Emma magic; and PapaCharming moments.

Taking Wendy may have been part of PP’s plan to get Bae in order to get Henry. Once Wendy came back from NL all distraught, Bae would have taken it upon himself to protect the family. And when the Shadow returned it again threatened the Darling Family but Bae stepped in, just like PP was hoping Bae would do and then it took him.

I agree with Slurpeez. Having something be even bigger and badder than PP is almost a bit too much like S2, when you think about it. Almost the entire season was about Cora being the big bad, but in reality it was GOAT and THO. The two weren’t connected but in the end it was THO our SB’ers really needed to fear.

Jo makes a really good point. Blue doesn’t seem to understand the power of true love, though she’s always supported Snow and Charming (as I type that I reflect that she may have supported them only because of how they relate to Henry). One of the first reasons why people were suspicious of Blue was because she split up Dreamy and Nova.

Right but it’s like I said above: Bae didn’t know about TLK. Rumple and Milah never had it and if Milah and Hook did have it, Bae was never witness to it. I get the feeling that TL and TLK are somewhat rare (hence why it’s so special). It’s not like people in Bae’s village were going around kissing and breaking curses all the time. But I also think you’re asking, why didn’t the BF tell him about it. Ok reason I can come up with:
    1) Blue knew it wouldn’t work
    2) BECAUSE SNEAKY FAIRY IS SNEAKY.

It did change though, he wanted Rumple to be the man he was not the man he is. Belle loved him no matter who he was. I’m not saying it wasn’t a small change, but it was enough to render TLK null and void between Bae and Rumple.
