KeymasterSo now that we know that killing the original also kills the doppelganger, do we still think it’s Emma’s worse half under the hood? That would amount to the doppelganger commiting suicide. Not that that’s out of the question, but from what we’ve seen, the split personalities seem to have a keen sense of self preservation.
Yes I still think it’s Emma but now I’m wondering which version of Emma is under the hood–original or the split version?

KeymasterI’m now starting to wonder if in the winter finale Regina will end up wishing that she had never cast the dark curse, which would allow for them to explore a reality in which Emma Swan never got to meet her parents
That would be really interesting, actually. It also ties in nicely with their interest in savior mythology this year.

KeymasterDo we think that the EQ could rip out Regina’s heart and/or use it in her own body?
Oh that’s an interesting idea! Would she want to though? The EQ seems perfectly fine being devoid of any meaningful emotion other than villainy

KeymasterLooks like Adam deleted the tweets, for whatever reason

KeymasterIt’s definitely an interesting theory–especially since Changelings is such an odd title.
Your theory sorta hinges on a few things but one of the biggest is that Rumple is acting OOC. You’re gonna get some push back on that front from some people and I think it ultimately come down to how you’ve viewed Rumple since the beginning and his development since S3B (his devolution as a character for me began when Nealfire died).
At his core, Rumple has always been torn between his desire to protect his family, be a good man, and his desire to be able to control his own life/destiny, to wield power previously denied to him. This struggle made him such an interesting character for so long: how can he protect his family if it involves using Dark Magic and distancing himself from those he loves to the point where they actually leave him after rejecting him. It made his dependency on dark magic more akin to drug addiction in which the user knows that the magic isn’t good for them. There’s some self awareness that their lives are in shambles and it usually happens after the aforementioned rejection. Think about Rumple clawing at the ground, desperate to go after Bae when he fell down the portal.
The Rumple you see now, post S3B, is a character who isn’t vacillating between those desires. He’s chosen and he wants it all. He “loves his dagger;” and he loves it as much as he loves Belle and Bae and his new son. I think the inner tension comes not from not liking what he sees in the mirror but that the people he loves now see nothing but ugliness and are still rejecting him. For Rumple, he’s doing exactly what he’s always done–protecting those he loves–but with the added bonus of not needing to be a different man for anyone.
I don’t know if it’s OOC so much as he’s settled into who he wants to be. He made up his mind about the nature of his identity when he chose to take on the Dark One’s Curse again. It’s no longer about negotiating his identity with how others want him to be; it’s about making them accept who he is.
With that in mind, I think Rumple really is Rumple.

KeymasterI have to assume it has been brought up here before
After 6 years there isn’t much we haven’t brought up before. However, new analysis is *always* welcome! 🙂

KeymasterMight also be worth pointing out that the half hour rating demos saw a drop.
8pm: 1.1
8:30pm: 1.0
Still agree with Matt about next week, but it’s after that particular boost that I’m thinking about. However we should have an episode, at least, to slowly drop so we don’t do it suddenly and all at once.
