KeymasterWhile canon = legitimate as in “established as true and won’t change” we can’t include SF on that list because they haven’t been proven as canon like Snowing or Rumbelle have. I’m not trying to nitpick, I just don’t want our very loyal, very kind, very wonderful CS’ers to be offended because this poll seems to say that SF is a for sure thing.

KeymasterI know we’ve talked about this a lot but it has to be more than TLK to get rid of the Dark One’s curse; he’s had TLK once and it began to work but it came back as soon as it ended. I think it has to be him willingly giving up the Dark One AND TLK.

he can’t just SHED the DO curse!!
Oh I don’t know. A pretty popular theory is that he is going to sacrifice his power to PP to save Henry and that is what “undoing” means. We don’t know how PP or NL or magic there work yet.

KeymasterAgreed. If “legit” here means, they were together in the past, then you need to include:
GOAT
Neal and Tamara
Dreamy and Nova
Hook and Milah
Rumple and Milah
Rumple and Cora
Regina and Daniel
Leopold and Eva
Ruby and Peter
Jack and James
Aurora and Philip
Cinderella and Thomas
Abigail and FrederickThis is my point. The term legitimate has a lot of problems and I hate shipping wars. With a passion. We have a strict no shipping war policy here. Debate is one thing, full on “my couple is better than yours” is a no no. So I’m asking that we be careful.

KeymasterI think Rumple protecting Belle is equal parts a reflection of what happened to her in the past and his fear that he’ll lose her because of him. He is terrified of losing her and thus seeks to shield her from harm, and for good reason: being the TL of the Dark One is not easy. He may never stop trying to protect her, but I hope that he lets her protect him as well.

For the sake of this thought experiment, I’d rather have my true love with me at the end than not. While I can certainly understand and sympathize with the desire to protect the ones you love, Belle’s isn’t Rumple’s child. And that’s my point. I don’t like the way he fathers her so much. Despite their huge age gap, as his lover, Belle should be Rumple’s equal and his partner, not his daughter. Rumple constantly underestimate’s Belle’s capabilities, even though he has openly praised her in that phone conversation. So, yes, I think Rumple should have taken along Belle, despite the risk, because Belle has proven herself capable and brave in numerous situations (like when she bested Hook twice, for example, freed Prince Philip, or even when she agreed to go with the Dark One to save her people). Where Rumple is weak and cowardly, Belle is strong and brave. She makes up for his shortcomings. Also, she’s very well educated and well read, so having her for her scholarly prowess might have proved to be invaluable in their travels. I think it was Rumple’s mistake to leave her behind. That just my opinion. Take it or leave it.
I do agree with this, Rumple acts like Belle is delicate and has to be protected. He’s never seen her the way we have, like in the Outsider. To him, Belle is someone who needs protecting. So that’s why the writers left her behind: when Rumple gets back he is going to see how well she handled the town, how she fought to protect it and that she doesn’t need him to protect her because she is fully capable in her own right. Then they’ll be more like partners.

KeymasterWell, let me say this first off before some shipping war happens and this gets ugly: you cannot apply the term “legitimate” to SF yet. They were a couple in the past, but they are not together right now and it has not be proven that SF are TL. CS is still in the running and I ask that you bear that in mind.
I personally ship all three of those with Rumbelle being my OTP.

KeymasterA lot of S3 is probably going to focus on Rumple repairing his relationship with Nealfire–once he find out he is alive of course–and throwing in another child at this point is unnecessary drama.
As to who is the more important couple: I agree that Snowing is a major couple, but I don’t think Rumbelle of SF/CS are any less important. The writers saw the explosion of Rumbelle after Skin Deep and planned accordingly. They have stories for Belle as individual and as part of a couple. I agree that if there is a new baby it will most likely come from Snowing but that’s just because they are further along in their relationship than Rumbelle. And GG suggested a baby for Snowing, she did not bully them into it. She knows that A and E are going to write their show how they want it.

Here’s my harebrained theory. When I envisage Peter Pan, I see a child who is plagued with a curse (similar to Rumple’s dark one curse). Perhaps wishing to remain a child, he made a deal he didn’t understand with a bad fairy like Tinker Bell. So, Peter might turn out to be a “villain” but only in the way that Rumple is one.
Given that in a recent tweet Adam said “He [PP] is…complicated” I think he is going to be someone who–like Rumple and Regina–is complex in their villainy. However, I can’t see PP being a child–like Henry’s age–because it’s almost comical to think of this little 10-12 yr old running around as the Big Bad. I think it’s far more likely that PP will be about 18-25 so that they can cast a more mature, well trained actor.

KeymasterI don’t know if we actually know how much time was in between the drink and the docks, but I agree that he did not sleep with Lacey (or Cora back in FTL). I guess I kind of go back and forth. He was very emotional in the shop and he could have found comfort with Belle but there were no hints of it, whereas they have no problem showing Snowing obviously in bed together.
