KeymasterShe did say she got it from a Wizard and now, thanks to the trailer for OUATinWL, we know that the main love interest for Alice is a Genie. Genie’s have magic just like wizard’s and it may be hard to distinguish one from the other. Maybe the Genie (Cyrus) gave it to her.

KeymasterI do think the final preparations come into play. I think she may be in touch with Tinkerbell and therefore have knowledge of what PP wants. She could alert Tink that the Curse was about to hit, thus letting her and PP know that it was almost time to send Bae to our world.
Who to say that Bae was still there the curse was way after Bae left FL since what he is about 200 years old, and August would be 38 now to much time in between to have this story line work ❓
We’re almost 99.5% positive that Bae remained 14 for a very long time, meaning he was in NL for a long time–he says as much in Manhattan. We’re also 99.5% sure that he came to our world (for the second time) in 1991. On his wanted poster in Tallahassee, it gave his birthdate year at 1977. That means that in order for him to have come to our world at the age of 14 and but still claim he was born in 1977, he came through in 1991. He came through AFTER the Curse, because the Curse was in 1983.
And I don’t think it’s hard to imagine them talking at all. Pinocchio and Bae have parallel stories, but ones that play differently. Both ran from fathers, but one wants to get back and one wants to never see his father again. In a dark and scary place like NL, people commiserate. They discuss how they ended up in NL."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
KeymasterOn Pleasure Island the boys become donkeys as they continue to reveal in Pleasure instead of being proper young boys. But again: when does this show follow the movie/original text word for word, plot by plot? They don’t. They use the basic frame and then change it to fit their story needs.

You missed the point about Jimmy Cricket he was always around Pinocchio when he was a wooden boy and a real boy in the true story about Pinocchio so what happened to the Cricket ❓
My memory of the Disney movie is also a bit fuzzy, but I don’t believe Jiminy goes to Pleasure Island with Pinocchio. Also, they don’t follow the stories/movies word for word, plot point by plot point. In Once, it’s very possible that Jiminy was closer to Gepetto than Pinocchio (actually, he was. We know this. Even in SB, Archie is best friends with Marco, not August). They don’t need to work Jiminy Cricket into this storyline, it could simply be that Pinocchio, while out exploring the world and getting into heaps of trouble, was taken to NL by the Shadow. He was returned to the EF by the Shadow because Peter Pan didn’t want him in NL for the reasons I’ve already listed.

It’s funny, Pleasure Island itself wasn’t in my mind when I first started thinking of this theory, it came much as a consequence of me noticing spiritual similarities between Peter Pan and Lampwick. The jump to Neverland = Pleasure Island was then a natural one and by the end of the finale I was about convinced of the theory’s solidness. 🙂
Well it’s funny on my end, because I never made the PP and Lampwick connection. I went straight to NL = Pleasure Island. But now that you bring it up….yeah. 🙂
And as for how Pinocchio would get to NL and back, we’re forgetting the Shadow. He clearly takes boys to NL just by carrying then. He didn’t need a portal but the difference is PP wouldn’t want little Pinocchio there. He knows, if he has the gift of sight, that Pinocchio has to go through the wardrobe with Emma, because if he doesn’t it would be Snow and if it was Snow, Emma wouldn’t have had the life she did, wouldn’t have met Bae and wouldn’t have had Henry which Peter’s WHOLE GOAL.

KeymasterExactly. The Pinocchio story goes a little something like this:
Gepetto builds a little wooden puppet named Pinocchio to stave off his loneliness.
The BF enchants the wooden boy, turning him into a wooden puppet who can move and walk.
Pinocchio investigates the world and eventually finds himself in a lot of trouble with a group of boys who are taken off to Pleasure Island–they are told that Pleasure Island is a wonderful place where they can do whatever they desire. If I remember correctly, one they are there, they are never allowed to leave.
Somehow Pinocchio makes it out (I can’t recall how) and as Pinocchio and Gepetto are fleeing, the incident with the whale occurs. We saw the whale scene in the episode The Stranger. After the flee the whale, the BF turns Pinocchio into a real boy. This is the only part of the Pinocchio story we’ve seen so far.
I’m suggesting that Pleasure Island and Neverland are the same. Based on what we know about NL in Once thus far, they sound remarkably alike. If Pinocchio went there, he may have met Bae and Bae may have told him about the dagger. Young boys tend to commiserate. As for Jefferson, we don’t know how he knows August or Bae, but I’d be willing to be that all three of them know each other and about the dagger."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
Keymasterhat can’t be right either remember Neil didn’t know August when then met the 1st time just before they put Emma in jail. No, there has to be something else or someone else that told Pinocchio/August about the dagger and how to use it. I don’t think August was in NL either, no one else can seem to jump around with out beans etc. I also don’t think the Mad Hatter knew about the dagger either only the BF, Bae, Cora, and the Duke knew about the dagger and how to use it.
Actually it would still work: Pinocchio would have been a wooden boy when he met Bae on NL. There is a huge difference in appearance between a wooden Pinocchio and an adult August.
As to how he got to NL: that’s tricky. In the Pinocchio story he is taken to Pleasure Island with other boys who are told about all the “wonders” they will find there. I’m beginning to wonder about Tink and how she fits into this. It’s possible she and Shadow are responsible for getting boys to NL and she brings boys from FTL. Just a thought I’m having.
As to the Hatter: we have no proof that he knew about the dagger, but he does know August and for some reason A and E cut the scene from The Stranger where the two talk at Jefferson’s house. If August knew Bae and Jefferson, it’s possible that Jefferson heard about the dagger from August who heard from Bae. Jefferson already knew Rumple from FTL."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 23, 2013 at 8:00 pm in reply to: Master Manipulation. ^ That’s a good guess, RG. Would definitely be interesting to find out that Peter meddled with Rumple’s carefully orchestrated plan to find Bae, adding his own twists. But I hope that Peter letting Pinocchio and Bae go would be done in a more subtle manner, as in he does it so in a way that makes them believe that they found a way out on their own.
I agree. I see Peter Pan as hiding in the shadows (as it were) and letting things happen that seem almost like luck or chance but really he’s pulling at a lot of strings.

But it still comes down to how did August knew it controled the dark one, he wasn’t around with Rumple was locked up everyone else was under the curse.
Like I said, if Pinocchio was on NL at the same time as Bae and they met, Bae could have told him everything.

KeymasterRight, I think there is a strong chance that Pinocchio was in NL at some point. I just posted some ideas here about how Pinocchio, Bae and PP might be connected (pg 2, last few posts)
