Does anyone else find it perplexing that it takes longer to master the art of giving yourself a dye job than it does to master the art of taking an enchanted heart? Like, I figured the heart thing would be a bit trickier, but Cora learned that overnight, and transformation took her months.

I wonder if it has something to do with the level of magic inherent in each individual. I would guess that Cora had a greater level of magic in her from the start because her emotions tended that way–being a hot head, proud, and slightly…crazy. Whereas Regina started out her life as a very good person who’s emotions tended toward love and kindness. Because her life was easier, it was harder for her to learn magic?

    *think this through*

No. Because he took a heart from the “Esmerelda” looking lady right after she realized Daniel could never be brought back. She was immobilizing horses and then taking lady’s hearts before she became the “Evil Queen”.

    Arg.

Ok, having caught up on the conversation since last night a few things:

We keep supposing that there is only one death but it’s very possible that all our theories are right and it’s Neal's fake out death and Granny's real death, but they come indifferent episodes. In 21 we have Neal's “fake” death and at the start of 22 you learn he's still alive thus lulling the audience into thinking everyone is going to make it to S3, but then our beloved Granny is killed by Tamara after she overhears something

But one has to wonder — how does Neal go from 18th century London as Bae to present-day U.S. as Neal, when he meets up with Emma?

“It wasn’t a direct line, it was a circuitous route through time and space in order to land in time to meet Emma,” says Raymond-James. “There wasn’t a direct line, there were stops.”

Stops. Multiple. We know NL is one, but I’m starting to believe a big part of the Bae background is visiting other lands: WL, Oz, Agrabah (we’ve heard of it but haven’t seen it and while I think it is in FTL, there is nothing to suggest that Bae didn’t pop back to a different part of the EF)

What I remain skeptical about is if the fail actually kills everyone. I would wager that, if Rumple created the fail safe, then it doesn’t kill everyone but sends them all back to the EF and because there are no more characters in SB, it disappears as its only purpose was be home to the people of the EF.

The island of LOST was never destroyed like Sunnydale or the Enterprise, but it did “move” at the end of S3.

Unless we get a last minute sneak peek on Sunday before the episode airs, I think we won’t be seeing any more of them. 😥

I’m holding out for a script tease or two on Sunday.
I hope next week they forgo the 8min preview and return to a few sneaks. I like it better than way.

Unless do you think it was the BF ❓

As Jefferson’s wife? I wouldn’t inflict her on anybody, especially a character I love as much as Jefferson.

I was thinking maybe the Mad Hatter was involved because he lost his wife to magic for his job

While I would love love love to see Jefferson again, I very much doubt it. Sebastian Stan is incredibly busy and we would have heard by now if he had been on set. Plus, it seems really late in the game to introduce his wife and him back into the show.

    Thanks for the linkage!

” Expect a showdown that will lead to “a really surprising revelation about one of our characters,

One of the core characters or one of the characters in general? Cause, I’m already on board the “Tamara is the daughter of RH and Marian” train and am mostly just waiting to do my victory dance.

Unfortunately, there are only three magic beans left that survived Regina razing the fields

So maybe the failsafe does kill everyone. But three beans = three trips.
GOAT use one to take Henry to NL
Core cast uses one to go to NL via the JR
Rest of SB goes to FTL maybe using the magic compass? Don't the heroes still have it?

I don’t think anyone had anything to do with other than Regina contacting the outside world and then having Gold procure a child for her. The fact that the child was Henry was inevitable as the curse has a mind of its own and knows what it needs to do. Magic simply begets magic. Emma is the product of magic and Henry is a bi-product. The curse instinctively drew them in. Just as August had no choice but to seek Emma out when she was with Neal. Just as Neal had no choice but to meet Emma and pair up with her. There is just no escaping a magical curse, that has a mind of its own as it is magical fate, and that is why, all magic comes with a price. Because the curse knows and reacts.

Rumple himself said it best. It was fate.

While I agree with some of the things you said, like it’s fate and magic begets magic, I think there is a much larger story to tell about this adoption, especially given A and E’s comments about how they’re saving it for S3. It seems to me that each time someone asks they say that it’s something they want to explore, which I think signals that there is more than just Regina finding a child in the real world. So while I do agree that the baby being Henry was fate, I think fate may have had some help.

Ok, I’m just commenting on what I read here…and replying what I think…

Rumplestiltzkins built in the curse that he would retain his memories. I honestly think August helped get Henry in to storybrooke, in my head he feels bad for going off his path to help Emma get on her path as savior. Here are some theories, did August write the book, and hopes Henry would understand everything in it and therefore search out his birth mother, and fulfill August promise? Now I don’t unsterstand myself how August got in touch with rumplestiltzkins, maybe during the end of season 1 when he was the mysterious man on the motorcycle, he was afraid rumple would have recognized him. As far as getting Henry in to the town, I think Regina can change the view of the town, from viewable to not viewable, and he was simply brought in. Without anyone having to leave.

    I don’t know, just my thoughts…

    First, welcome to the forums!

All good questions. Rumple did ensure that he would get his memories back once he heard Emma say her name (hence writing it over and over in the cell with the squid ink) but until that moment, he did believe himself to be Mr. Gold. Therefore, while we know that Gold did get Henry for Regina, Rumple didn’t know anything about it. I still think August had a part in it, as you point out. I’m not sure about the book, though. My theory was that it was the Blue Fairy who wrote the book and it came with everyone through to SB where Mother Superior gave it to Mary Margaret, though she wasn’t sure why.
