RumplesGirl
KeymasterSo after a good night’s sleep I come back to these sneak peaks with the following:
–I agree that Rumple is probably manipulating the situation like crazy. It’s what he does. I am a HUGE Rumple sympathizer (best you could never guess…) but I do know that he prays on people’s weaknesses and their desires to get what he wants. However, I still believe that he feels something more for Cora than just “she’s an end to my means.” I think a lot of the emotion he expressed to Belle in Skin Deep about how unlovable he is, is going to stem from his interactions with Cora. I still maintain that she’s going to break his heart. Their feud might indeed have happened after she refuses to give Regina to him, but I think it’s much deeper than that.[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl

In other news, Eva was a b!tch, but I kinda like that they’ve done that, because it makes her doom all the more tragic. I’m guessing that whatever plays out with Cora is what forced Eva to change her ways. So Eva became good because of Cora, then Cora killed her for having been horrible.
I am tired of the inconsistency of the characterizations… a person does not become GOOD for no reason after being such a snot… never see it in real life … cannot see it in stories… NEVER HAPPENS… PETTY PEOPLE do not improve.
PLEASE OUAT be more consistent in your characterization !!!! Use the same writers for the same characters.

.Well, Nonnie to be fair we don’t know what happened to Eva after this incident. Something changed in her and maybe we’ll get that story this week or maybe not. But it’s also what OUaT does. We’ve seen how Rumple went from a humble spinner just trying to protect his son to the Dark One. We’ve seen how Regina went from a young woman in love who was genuinely GOOD to the Evil Queen. And last week we saw how Young Snow went from being a brat to being the Snow White we all love.

Why would he want Cora to marry Prince Henry without love? Because he needed Regina. Maybe he figured Cora would be more likely to part with her daughter if she was not the product of true love.
I think you are right! 😮 he was probably manipulating the situation, he probably saw he needed Regina. If he saw Snow White he probably knew about Regina. It would go with how he usually screws himself over and things tend to go wrong. Hence now Cora AND Regina are trying to kill him. Oh our Rumple, when will he learn. 🙄
I don’t know. There was a spoiler Slurpeez posted on one of the threads today that described Rumple as smitted with Cora. I think he does care for her. He set out to manipulate the situation and ended caring for her. It’s her I’m not convinced of.

KeymasterYeah. Eva was a brat! I wonder what happened to Eva that made her change.

You know… it’s not that bad. I mean I always thought Rumple had it in him to be a lady’s man 😉 He has lived for 300 years he was bound to have some bumps along the way before Belle, I mean jeez he is not priest, monk, pope whatever… It looks to me it looks like he wants to marry her off. I was wondering this, Cora loves power she wants it more than anything why wouldn’t she want to be with Rumple, he is the freakin’ Dark One. You cannot have more power than that. He makes Kings into fools. Seeing as he mentions the Irony of Snow White, I believe he might even see a glimpse of what happens with Cora.
I wondered that too and the conclusion I came to is that being with the Dark One, she would always be second best. He would always be more powerful than her. And not only does Cora want power, she wants to be powerful. She wants to be the top dog. And I think being Queen, especially if it’s Henry Sr as King, she can easily control him and really be the most powerful. But with Rumple, she would always be less than him, and she won’t go back to that life.
And to your other point: yes, he was probably a ladies man because the power gave him courage. It’s just hard to watch. And Belle is his true love, which is what I’m reminding myself of right now. *you might have guessed that I freaked out a little bit* 😉

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 I’m confuse about something. Could Cora have really being able to manipulate Rumple? I mean, by then he should have known that true love’s kiss could have broken his dark one’s curse & he obviously is not affected by the smooching… So maybe he’s just manipulating her by making her think that she is manipulating him? Or could he have actually cared for her? or maybe he was just enjoying the rare time of having real company (someone that isn’t afraid &/or is trying to kill him)?
I think he cares for her. Listen to when he says “I can only give you darkness.” There is real longing there. But I think she’s going to turn on him and say she never cared for him, was only using him so that she could become Queen.

Keymaster“You would know if she was, cause most of you would be dead by now.” Oh, how I love Jane Espenson’s writing.

KeymasterOh yes! Ruby. Good to know that she’s there and alive. We can stop thinking that she might die.

KeymasterShe HAS to be using him. HAS TO. She can’t love him. I think once she has Regina then she’ll drop the “love is weakness and I never cared for you” on him. Got to be.
