KeymasterIn someways, though, they were both puppets on strings. Rumple for the previous Dark One and is now tainted with the evil that comes with being the Dark One (however he is trying to make strides in recovery, like with Belle, but it doesn’t mean he suddenly becomes Mr. Good Guy. He’s still Rumple, after all.) He made bad choices too. But, did he fully realize what being the Dark One would entail? I don’t believe so. And lets not forget, one of the first things he did as the Dark One was to stop the Ogre Wars and bring all the children home. He told Bae before he got the power, “I could turn it toward good.” He fully intended to do good. But like magic and power normally do, they go away from him. And for Regina, she was manipulated by Rumple, but she still made horrible choices. She didn’t have to become Rumple’s apprentice. She chose to do that. She didn’t have to take measures to ensure the curse was enacted. Just like Rumple didn’t have to chose to stay behind instead of going with Bae.

KeymasterI think it’s going to be something like betrayal. He leaves her to to take the punishment of a crime of some sort (perhaps because he’s a coward like his Papa?) It would be rather poetic if the good son that was Bae made the same error of his father.

KeymasterAlso: interesting that she would keep the car of the man who apparently is going to do something so horrible that she refuses to tell the truth to Henry….

KeymasterWow. Well, even though that just confirmed that Neal Cassady IS HIS NAME, I still say Peter Pan/Bae/Henry’s Father

KeymasterYeah, in the end Damon and Carlton of LOST let us figure a lot of things out ourselves.
For August to have such a full complicated real world name (August Wayne Booth) is so odd. He had to come up with that himself. And since he’s a writer and obviously good with words, there HAD to be some thought behind it (more than just it being the same as “A Wooden Boy”)"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
Keymaster^agreed. Plus, I don’t know if I want to see the others. Like I said, I think the idea of Dracula here is jumping the shark and I would be rather disappointed in the writers. If we do see more of Whale’s backstory (his brother for instance) then it needs to be just that story, and not delving into the other fictional characters in this “Horror World” Though, I’d really like to know what Frankie calls his world…

KeymasterI agree with you Gypsy, I do And I got all the LOST references, it was after Ben used the Morarity alias way back when that I picked up On the road for the first time. 🙂
If this is Bae….is it possible he chose the name Neal Cassady for himself? Especially if there are these “Peter Pan” themes and overtures to the real man already? (I’m not willing to give up believing Bae is peter Pan yet…)

KeymasterHmmmm. Interesting. I guess since Neal Cassady was a REAL person, I’m holding out that it’s a very large clue to the characterization of the mystery man instead.
Also, in On the Road, the highly stylized version of Cassady Kerouac writes, Dean Morarity, never does find his father. The final lines of the novel, “I think of Dean Morarity, I even think of Old Dean Morarity, the father we never found…” Bad news for Rumple and Bae? Will we have to wait a long time for Papa and son to be reunited?
Also: love the idea that August is going to be the “Sal Paradise” to Cassady’s “Dean Morarity”"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
KeymasterIt may not be that she’s a traitor, but if Cora has her heart and thus controls her, she could order her to pretend to gain Emma’s/SW trust and act as through she hates Cora as much as Mulan would, if she had a heart. I think we need to remember that Cora has ways of making people do things against their will.
Now with that said..I really hope Mulan isn’t being controlled.

KeymasterI think we could argue that every time a heart is ripped out, the one who did the removal loses a bit more of their “humanity” or is taken further into darkness. Think how evil Cora is. She took a lot of hearts, as did Regina, which is why she was such a fantastic Evil Queen.
And I’m starting to wonder if the whole “all magic comes with a price” is only BIG magic. Not the spells here and there, or else no one would do magic. But those spells that have consequences almost written into them, they come with a price. Even if it’s internal, like losing yourself to darkness.
