KeymasterI notice the only thread here for Star Trek: Discovery is this one. Should I post comments about the plot/characters there? Or should I start a new thread in “Everything else off-topic”?
If it’s about ST:Disc and OUAT (Alice, specifically)and any connections you see, then keep it here in an OUAT section. If you just wanna talk about ST: Disc then use the thread you linked above.

KeymasterFinally got to sit down with episode 4×06 “Hog Day Afternoon”
GENERAL: Ehhhhhhhh. We’re spiraling out of narrative control. I find none of this very interesting or watchable right now. There are too many plot lines (like, whatever happened to Scarecrow? And is the Ra’s plot totally done? Who is the actual villain this season?) and all of them are silly, and worst of all they are beyond watchable Gotham silly.
LIKED
–“It’s just gonna go to waste..” Victor Z. is one of the best parts of this slightly off kilter season.
–It’s a “get the shovel” kind of chat, lol.
–“What is this? What’s happening?” That’s actually my exact reaction when I see a hoard of children running toward me.
MIXED
–Good lord, Os. You never learn. Thinking Sofia Falcone is your “real friend” is idiotic. Ed was a real friend, someone you could actually trust who wanted you to be the best (murderous) version of yourself but Sofia is clearly playing you like a cheap fiddle. However, on the other hand, I fully expect Os to act like this because his psychology is to desperately cling to anyone who shows him even the slightest bit of love and attention.
DISLIKED
–“I’ll put you on a train back home.” Jim, I’m fairly certain you can’t dictate where Sofia goes and when? Pretty sure you two aren’t even really an item right now?
–I am 100% NOT here for this pigs head stuff. This sorta visual really freaks me out.
–I’m pretty bored with this Grundy subplot. Frankly, never found Butch to be all that compelling and now that’s he’s a penny version of the Hulk? Eh. I just want Ed to be Ed again.

KeymasterWeek six of renewal/cancel from Grimm and unsurprisingly we’re still at a 55% chance of renewal. We’re also tied with Designated Survivor (both have a 55%) with only a few shows less likely to get renewed over us.

Also,
#SciFiTVRatings: On Fri, #OnceUponATime remained low at a 0.5 rating w/2.1M tot viewers. Its fate will ultimately be decided by Disney.

KeymasterIt’s the first time we’ve heard it on screen. From what I can tell, it’s short for Matilda and it means “mighty in war.” I really don’t know why they chose it except that there is a Tillie in the Wonderland books, in a very small side story the Doormouse tells to Alice.

KeymasterAlice being the LGBT character reveal was done so effortless, sort of Like Bill from Doctor Who,
I agree. This was a smart decision on their part, especially after all the backlash for “Ruby Slippers”

KeymasterI just wanna know how we get from Tiana and her mother going broke, to Tiana meeting with Facilier, to Tiana leading a revolution.

KeymasterSome numbers for last night –
The first half was 0.6/2.73m – second half was 0.5/2.14m…but EVERYTHING there in the 830 slot dropped except baseball which went UP by 3 million.
More interesting is that it appears that viewers aren’t actually leaving week to week in massive numbers – they’re coming back at the beginning of each new ep – but rather that they check out for the second half and then return.
Which is…curious.
Some number crunching I saw about episode 704. I agree that it’s curious how the audience keeps coming back only to leave at the 830 mark…and then return?

KeymasterOh, it’s definitely #3 that the writers haven’t thought out the timeline (T-word! memories….) and frankly that they don’t care too.

KeymasterHe might not be her bio dad but he might have gone out on a limb and taken Alice under his wing. He could have been especially lonely after sadly losing Belle and decided they were something like kindred spirits, two lonely people in need of family.
Which is the reverse of Bae and Hook in S2

KeymasterWhy didn’t it work? I’d always assumed that the reason TLK didn’t work was because Rumple’s true love was his dagger, but once he let go of it, his true love should have been Belle. So, it makes no sense why their kiss wouldn’t just free him of the dark one curse.
A great question that I suspect will never be answered.
