KeymasterWell it’s another day here in fun town.
At least the TCAs for GoS are tomorrow. I’m hoping we get a premiere date.

KeymasterI don’t think his character should be completely wiped clean from the slate, erased for existence, a character of non-mentions.
None of us believe that, not a single one of us. But A and E do. And they’ve been doing just that with a fair amount of consistency for several arcs now.
Like I said elsewhere, it makes sense that a dead character with ties to our main cast would be able to and would want to give them a warning about the mission they are about to make.
Of course it makes sense; it’s going to happen with Cora, Pan, Cruella, and others. The problem is that there is no logical follow through with Neal. He’s going to appear, warn them, and then be totally forgotten once more, never mentioned, never seen, never thought about. He’s a shiny object for the writers to play with before disposing.
I think we’re (you and I specifically) having two slightly different conversations, Watcher, with this matter. Does it make sense that Neal would be in the Underworld and would want to help his true love and his son and keep them safe? Absolutely yes. But it’s being done in a way that is (I keep using this word) cruel and hurtful because of the way it could potentially play out: warning the SB gang and then fading back into non-existence with no one stopping to think about saving him too; no one pondering if Neal’s life is worth saving, if maybe Henry would like to have his father, to acknowledge that Neal’s death wasn’t fair (the words Emma used in regards to Hook), that maybe he (Neal) was a real hero and a good man besides and didn’t deserve to die and maybe there’s some magical mcguffin out there to help! None of that will happen.
I object not to the idea of Neal helping out but how the writers ride roughshod over him and his memory time and time and time again. Using his character to manipulate the audience and then forget all about him as if he was never important.
I am sincerely hoping that this is just the name of piece of music used in 319 that Isham is using again and Instagram’d it without thinking. Let Neal’s final moment be on that set of swings, connecting with his true love, not as some messenger who appears and disappears with no one stopping to care.

Keymasterf this is possible….that whole séance thing was a waste of time back in 3×18 when Cora could have just called Regina and told her what the deal is with Zelena.
Yes but we know that A and E don’t write with past arcs/episodes in mind.

Keymaster……is that possible? I mean…what the heck is the logic of this show if that is possible. The dead can make a collect call to their loved ones now? I hope thats not it. Thats probably it though
Oh it doesn’t make a lick of sense. But neither did much of last arc. *shrug* If it’s not calling home to check on their infant, then I have no idea.

KeymasterI think HJ got it right a page or so back…I think Snowing are calling home to check in on the kid.

KeymasterJoking aside, though, I do think the series finale (whenever it happens) will involve another child for Emma, because that would bookend the series’ beginning, and because the show has that tradition of Mothers’ Day plots.
So do I. A girl.

KeymasterSomething that cannot be repeated on this forum?
Twins!
I wondered if that’s where you were going. I put absolutely nothing past A and E at this point, but I think if CS has sealed the deal, the show would be a bit more open about it (in a “family friendly” sort of way). Also, it wouldn’t be a great message to have a woman who’s carrying twins to take the body’s most vital organ and split it whilst trying to care for two extra lives. (Of course, Snow–a new mother–did leave her 4 months old with fairies while Emma and Regina are allowing their thirteen year old son to go to Hell, so…I guess the importance of family and safety are not a top priority)

Keymasterdo Neal fans really think that there’s any way to get satisfaction in that regard now?
I won’t speak for all of us cause I know there is descent in the ranks, but speaking as one of the biggest Neal and SF fans on this little forum of ours, if MRJ actually comes back and if Neal shows up for a full five seconds to give some sort of cryptic warning but with no follow through (you know, saving him so he can live a life with his son at the very least) so that A and E can pat themselves on the back for thinking that they’ve appeased the parts of the fandom that are unhappy about a whole host of things, someone will have to very patiently and repeatedly remind me that I cannot fly out to LA and punch A and E in the face.
Like I said over in SF: if this turns out to be something, it’s cruel. And it’s cruel in the most malicious way possible.

KeymasterBut now we have confirmation, and it seems like its so out of left field for a lot of you. All we know is from two words. “Neal’s warning”. All we know is that Neal is somehow going to warm them about their mission.
Actually we know absolutely none of that. That is 100% speculation based on a picture that has since been removed. There are tons of other possibilities:
Isham using a piece of music he’s used in the past, like when Neal warned people back in 319 and he’s reusing that piece of music as he sooooo often does
You want to be happy about it and think it’s natural, fine, but none of what you wrote is fact nor is it confirmed in any tangible way.
