KeymasterThis is the weirdest news yet, but now we know why they sent Zelena back to Oz. They actually plan to show us.
Um total rip off of Emerald City, much?

KeymasterI hope no one took offense to anything I said and I wasn’t trying to attack anybody.
No offense. God knows I’ve dealt with worse running this place for the past 4.5 years. Just please familiarize yourself with our rules because I know you’re fairly new. Infractions are forgiven but only up to a point.

KeymasterFinal ratings for “Swan Song” are in. A 1.3 demo and 4.56 total viewers. Demo matches last week, but the total viewers are a little higher. Had a feeling. That 1.1 we saw in the 9pm half hour slot was more likely the result of Blood & Oil’s first 15 minutes factored in. http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/12/final-adjusted-tv-ratings-for-sunday_8.html
And now we wait and see how we return in the spring. I’d say we’ll go up, but I don’t think it’ll be by much. 1.5?

KeymasterI think this is the kind of cognitive activity A&E seem to be attributing to us, their show’s audience. They are assuming that if a storyline or character arc worked before, it’s enough for this audience to simply repeat it ad nauseum,
They keep hearing “Give us more [favourite character] and [favourite relationship]; show us our fanfic”, so I think they end up feeling that they ought to write something for those parts of the audience, but it seems to just divert resources into episodes and plotlines that fail to rise above the level of “watchable, sort of”.
It’s a fine line and I’ve never denied that walking the “own creativity” and “please viewers” line is easy. I just don’t think A and E have done a great job with either at this point. Their own creativity takes them down some *icky* paths (the wonky consent, the continue racial problems, ect ect ect–you all know my soap box by now) and the “please viewers” only leads to more polarization among the fandom which leads to more “please fans” and then it become a never ending cycle.

KeymasterWe have no sense at all of time passing, but we also have no sense at all of Snow’s (or Charming’s) relationship to their youngest child.
Well said. Snow and Charming heading down to Hades with Emma is also the second time this season that they’ve rushed headlong into death without even pausing to think about their youngest child. The first time was standing up to the Fury in 502. Both times, they’ve decided to die/go on a dangerous mission that would leave their newborn child an orphan. Which, you know, you think would bother them given how it messed up Emma for her entire life.
You get a big ol’ PREACH for everything else you wrote, btw.

KeymasterScintillating.

KeymasterWhy in the world do they need to tell the story differently? The parts Merida, Arthur, Guinevere filmed were them leaving, Arthur in handcuffs being led back to the EF. What else could they possible tell differently? Also, when did they randomly decide to it differently? Stick to a plan boys! This is why your show feels so disjointed 99% of the time.

Keymaster“These pirates smell…horrible!”
OMG. I love it already.
This is literally the perfect palate cleanser after the disaster that was s5A of OUAT

KeymasterOh sure. I’ll play along.
1) Rumple was just JKing and he isn’t really the Dark One! (Or alternatively: he channels all the Dark One’s powers into doing good, without going Super Duper Villain)
2) Belle is *not* pregnant
3) The Ghosts of the Past do more than just bemoan their fate. They actually have a purpose outside of “look who we can bring back!”
4) The writers don’t massively screw up Greek mythology (plz don’t mess with my happy place)
5) Baby GreenHood gets a name! (Pistachio Mills-Hood)
6) Emma saves Hook because of heroism but decides that their relationship is toxic and bad for both of them. Emma also seriously confronts Hook about the things he said/did while the Dark One and does not, under any circumstance, wave away his words and deeds because “darkness”
7) Arthur gets stabbed through the eye by Guinevere who then proceeds to un-rape-dust Camelot and then throws Arthur in a jail cell for all of time.
8) Merida goes back home where she bans any and all forms of bagpipes
9) Ruby and Mulan kiss for no less than 5 mins on screen while the camera literally just stays on them. At the end, they look the camera dead in the eye and start singing “Born This Way” Because why not.
10) Rumple and Emma and Henry *talk* about Neal and their collective grief

KeymasterJust had a thought. Emma stabbing Hook seemed very reminiscent of Buffy stabbing Angel including the sudden redemption (Angel got his soul back just as Buffy stabbed him). What if, like Buffy, Hook isn’t in “Hell” but in Once’s version of heaven, ie his “heroic” sacrifice got him sent to the good place. When Emma and co bring him back, like Buffy’s friends did to her, they’re actually dragging him out of heaven?
Yeah that was the first thing that everyone was saying on Twitter last night during the live viewing. As for your thought, nope..it’s the Underworld. They’ve made some clarifying remarks that it’s not Hell, but it’s more akin to “a place between” filled with villains
