Right?! How did she know this was Hook’s father? Did she just randomly bump into Brennan (Hook’s papa apparently) and then keep track of him for “reasons” and then realized Hook was breaking into her castle and said, “omg! This is totally the son of that one guy I met that one time. I must use this to my advantage! I’ll be sure to drop in some dialogue that will resonate with this one-handed dude and then he’s sure to do my bidding! What a perfect plan!”
Clearly that line of dialogue was followed by Regina cackling with steeped fingers and then she is seen petting a white cat, as lighting flashes behind her menacingly.
You know, because there is no complexity to the characters anymore. Just lock, stock, and barrel tropes.

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly flip anymore tables. They are really going to do it. They are going to write in EdR’s pregnancy and make *this* baby be reason that Rumple finally decides to redeem himself. Neal himself wasn’t enough. Neal’s death wasn’t enough. Belle wasn’t enough. Losing Belle wasn’t enough.Being banished wasn’t enough. Being Hat-Sucked and transformed wasn’t enough. But a brand new shiny baby…well HOT DOG!

Here’s my question: where does Belle think Rumple went? She wakes up, sees that Rumple and rest of the CharMills are gone. Did he leave a note? Did he lie to Belle, just going out of a gallon of milk and a pack of smokes?

It’s either one of two things. Either 1) they have no idea how to write Redeemed Rumple (or at least, Rumple trying to redeem himself). Like the concept literally baffles these professional writers. OR 2) They do know how to write a Redeemed Rumple but are choosing not to because they constantly need a contrast in good vs bad with their other former villains (mostly Hook, but also Regina). In order to prove that the other former villains are no longer villains, they refuse to put Rumple down the no-longer-a-villain path because it then they’ve lost their contrast.
I’m not sure which option is worse.
