His “fake wife” had the name Lauren Mills, too. I wonder if Abigail is a reference to Abigail/Kathryn from Season 1, AKA David’s “fake wife”?

Thanks. I didn’t catch that particular grave.

I’d say it’s pretty clear that that cemetery was magic-ed into Henry’s path to throw him off course because he’s starting to get close to Jacinda and Lucy.

By Victoria or by the New Witch?

Not gonna lie, I was distracted during this part of the ep because this got stuck in my head…

    God bless you.

Also, if this is Rapunzel, I guess the theory she is Hook’s daughter goes out the window?

I don’t think so–not necessarily. The Wish Realm timeline and our timeline is sooooo very messed up that I don’t think it totally disbars it. Also, the Witch character said something about Victoria coming to “top of the tower” and and Hook’s daughter token was a tower. I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility, yet.

Though, I am doubting the Rapunzel/Alice love story, now.

I realize the live numbers I most important, but the Live + 7 and those watching on Hulu have to count for something right?

Sure, but it’s hard to quantify. I would say it matters more for ABC but less for the ad buyers. Adam and Eddy have said that the success of OUAT on Netflix has played a part in ABC’s decision this past year.

Raise your hand if you think Victoria is actually Rapunzel…..

I think the title unambiguously points towards the community garden with the wishing well in which both Lucy and Jacinda made a wish. Also, I think the garden clearly alludes the original German Rapunzel fairytale, in which a father stole a rapunzel from Dame Gothel’s garden to satisfy his pregnant wife’s craving for the plant (aka rampion). Both husband and wife ended up having to pay the ultimate price: their daughter for a plant.

given the overwhelming Rapunzel allusions in 703, I’d say you’re right.

    Youch at that .5

The Live + 7 ratings don’t take into account those who watch on Hulu or abc.com within a week do they?

    No.

    24 hours later….

I finally get to sit down and watch this week’s episode!

GENERAL” Much better than last week’s and probably tied with the premiere for best so far. I enjoy that there’s a solid theme of resistance running throughout the episode and that we got some answers (and more questions, per usual) to all the plot spaghetti. However, I feel like there’s something missing—a magical spark. I don’t connect to any of these characters yet. I know it’s only been three episodes but I remember falling *hard* for Rumple and Emma’s stories after the first few episodes of S1. That’s not happening yet.

    7.5/10

    LIKED

–“The key to bringing down Victoria Belfry is a bearclaw!”

–Henry in his muddy red coat looks a lot like the coats Neal and Emma have worn in other episodes.

    –“And here you are….in a bar….”

–Regina Mills: the character growth the show has mostly succeeded on. I loved watching her tell Ella that sacrificing one person for a whole cause doesn’t make it “right” and later telling Cinderella to forgive herself.

–Lady Tremaine calls Jacinda “Cinderella” in HH; there goes the theory that she’s cursed!

–Emma Booth’s character is very interesting! I get strong Rapunzel/Witch vibes from them and I think Victoria is in the Rapunzel role, even though that doesn’t make a lot of sense.

    MIXED

–There’s a resistance throughout New!EF? I mean, that’s kinda cool if it’s going to figure in really prominently into the series  and could potentially be a nice analog to the current state of affairs in some parts of the world, but how is Lady Tremaine royal (she’s trying to marry off her daughter to royalty?) and why exactly are people opposed to her? Context. We need context.

–A shocking number of people who did not care about the upkeep of the community garden are lined up to sign the petition to save it….

–You gotta admire the lengths the writers go to to make sure Wonderland!Anastasia is never seen nor heard on the mother show. However, I’m not sure how I feel about this twist that what’s lurking behind Tremaine’s villainy is motherhood—it has been done to death on OUAT!

    DISLIKED

–How does one leave a letter inside a well….? Even the show doesn’t know how this works because they go out of their way to stop us from seeing how this little system between Jacinda and Lucy works.

–UGH, the lampshade moment of Lucy’s “hey this is exactly like when you and Archie went down into the mines in Storybrooke! Remember that!?”

–Okay, I get that Lucy is the new “heart of the truest believer” but honestly I can’t help but laugh while she’s waxing poetic over how a single shard of glass from her mom’s non-cursed shoe somehow proves everything she believes.

    –No Alice. 🙁

This article almost cements Alice = Wish Hook’s daughter for me

And for me it solidifies that Alice = Rumple/Belle’s child. I still think Hook’s daughter is Rapunzel.
