Not having Mulan mention Aurora as the one who broke her heart was a glaring omission. Their efforts on this issue are so half hearted, meanwhile they pat themselves on the back for it, and it’s infuriating!

And *this* is why I have no hope that when/if we revisit Mulan and Ruby it will be in anyway well thought out or meaningful or well developed or…you know…good. @Myril is right, the pronoun game will likely have something to do with EF society but it won’t be a commentary on said society (and by extension ours) it will be in order to set up that “punchline”

We’ve been told and shown that the Darkness is like a parasite that causes the host to have actual symptoms.

Including not needing to sleep. If Hook’s a Dark One, he shouldn’t have been needing to sleep, so I guess he’s just not noticed that he’s awake 24/7 without getting sleepy ever?

    Lots of knitting apparently.

For me, this is really the big one. We know they’ve been back in SB for several days (minimum) and he’s never once noticed that he doesn’t need sleep? And that’s he not getting tired?

We can fan wank away the voices. The ability to do magic is trickier (for me) because magic is tied to emotions, especially dark magic. We’ve been shown that pretty consistently over the years. When Emma first became the Dark One and was moving through the EF in 501, the magic she did was during moments of anger (choke holding the merchant who wanted money; Merida). Hook’s been plenty angry lately. And yet no magic shoots from his fingers, lights don’t explode over heard, object don’t move. Those are all telltale signs of someone doing magic without realizing it. It’s called forshadowing and it’s pretty gosh darn important in narratives. But the show doesn’t do that. They just spring SHOCK! on you during big reveals with no set up. The fact that Hook hasn’t felt different/hasn’t noticed any changes in his habits/hasn’t had even one moment of sudden magic is super problematic because there’s no set up to him being another Dark One.

f they turn it around and try to paint her as a devoted mother in the next ep or so, it’s gonna be ridiculous.

so that’s what they’re going to do, then.

    A few updated things

For Xmas my aunt wanted a poncho. This was a labor of love because I kept having to redo parts of it. Used Big Twist in “Denim” and “Denim Steel”

Cabled Beanie in Big Twist Premium “Fuchsia”

My latest obsession: the Celtic Wave Beanie. Used a 100% Superwash Merino Wool called “Alive” that I got at a fiber festival.

Sense8 has two of the most beautiful, well thought out, heartfelt, loving, committed relationships in recent memory. And both of them are LGBT. Both relationships make my breath catch in my throat and I remember thinking, “yes. This is how it should look on TV everywhere.”

Nomi and Amanita. Lito and Hernando. GOOD GOD. Those relationships are a thing of beauty.

    Have you watched Lost Girl?

YAAAAAAS. You want real progress, good mythology, fun acting, and a lot of heart. Go forth and watch Bo do her thing.
