KeymasterTurns out I don’t need a medal to tell me I am good guy, because if that little kid likes me; how bad can I be?
We are so many broken pieces right now. We’ve really got to stop watching emotional TV/movies.

KeymasterI also wonder if Snape’s treatment of the Gryffindors is really that different from the other teachers treatment of other houses. He is a slytherin himself, I can imagine he hops at the chance to award his house points and to deduct it from the others, especially the Gryffindor.
Well, Harry and Ron do remark in a chapter we just passed that they wished McGonagall would favor them like Snape favors Slytherin. So, it does sound like Snape is alone in this regard.
As for the “it’s magic science” aspect, that’s true. But that’s why Snape should be even more attentive. Instead he just tells his students to flip to a certain page and follow the way it’s written. In my AP chemistry class, for example, we would have at least three days of lead up to the lab and then the lab itself. It’s like Movie! Snape says, “there is no wand waving or silly incantation in this class.” He’s not teaching *magic* like the rest of the teachers. He’s making students read a book or take lots of notes and somehow understand.
But, like I said the last time this came up….the real test is going to be comparing how he teaches Potions to how he teaches DADA

KeymasterLion King might be right up their alley, actually, because while we all know it’s animals in the animal kingdom, the narrative is pretty much straight up Hamlet. So it wouldn’t take too much effort to just make them all human again, a la William Shakespeare
At that point, you might as well just directly adapt Hamlet instead. Unless you re-theme the Lion King story as an African tribe story, or something. Actually, that might not be a bad idea, especially when it would be a way of adding more diversity into the show.
Why aren’t we writing this show??

KeymasterJust because Snape isn’t as friendly as Flitwick for example, doesn’t mean he isn’t a good teacher.
That’s true. However, look at the manner of his teaching. He doesn’t really instruct. He tells the kids to open their books and simply follow the recipe. Neville does so poorly that he actually get injured and Snape acts as though it’s Neville’s fault. He takes a sort of perverse joy in Gryyfindor messing up. He makes up rules to deduct points. Now while he may take special enjoyment in targeting Harry and his friends, his methods aren’t just “hard,” they are actually lazy and unsupportive.

KeymasterIf they brought in Hades, would they bring in Persephone then as a way to redeem him? And if that would happen, isn’t that just another version of “Beauty and the Beast”?
well, they have to do something Beauty and the Beast since they robbed Rumbelle of it.

KeymasterJafar will depend on how busy Naveen is for Sense8, I think. Season 2 hits Netflix June 2016 (?) so he might be taping for that. The only way I could see them doing Zelena again is if it tied into her baby and her going all crazy over Regina and Robin taking the kid and that brings out the Witch.
Other than that…we’re tapped out of the *major* Disney villains that every one knows. The exceptions to that would be someone like Frollo or Sher Khan (but humanized). Actually. With the two Jungle Book live action coming out, here’s 20 cookies on a humanized Shere Khan.

KeymasterPast come back to haunt us? Okay. So who’s the villain for that? Cora, Pan, Ingrid, and Cruella are dead. Mal is reformed and Ursula went to live on Forgotten Character Island. (that really just leaves Zelena)

KeymasterElliot Knight as the Usher
Seems like Merlin will be in the premiere after all, but he’s not revealed as Merlin yet.
Nice.
Overall, nothing outlandish in that press release. The guest cast is the most eyebrow raising in a few cases
