Why did they put the word family in quotes in that tweet? Maybe they don’t know what quotes mean or maybe that means something.
Well for a long part of the movie, Merida’s family was a bear. So it could be that Merida’s backstory is with some CGI bear.

That’s more or less how I’ve always read it. Rumple was too scared to let Belle in emotionally so the spell wasn’t fully broken. Once he was ready to love and be loved in return, then TLK from Belle would work. The Beauty and the Beast ending.
