–I know it’s sounds totally crack pot but I think Tremaine is really Rapunzel 1.0 and her daughter, Anastasia is really Hook’s daughter (and Eloise Gardener in HH)
I’ve thought Tremaine could definitely be Rapunzel ever since we found out her last name is Belfry in HH. That has to be intentional. That would be really interesting if Anastasia was his daughter. I think you may have cracked the code.
[adrotate group="5"]That’s the vibe I’m getting as well. Victoria has already said that she needs the Heart of the Truest Believer in order to bring back Anastasia so maybe the curse was cast in order to stop Henry from believing.
But even without his belief, his heart should still be protected from S3 right?
What an excellent episode – I loved it!
Liked:
– Adelaide Kane is NAILING it as Drizella/Ivy. Wow. From her tears talking about being the unwanted daughter to her switch to wickedly killing the prince – I believed it all.
– The “unbreakable” twist Drizella put on the curse and that it was her who cast the curse – definitely wouldn’t have even considered her as a contender until last episode. Her actually wanting to wake up Regina was a great twist too.
– Lana Parilla – after 6+ seasons, this woman can still make my heart ache for her character. What a truly cruel fate she’s been dealt this time – probably the worst ever, and that’s saying a lot. I’m so here for her journey reuniting with Henry.
– Henry and Jacinda/Cinderella this episode – I’m starting to believe their romance. Well done writers.
– Rumple and Regina’s brief interaction in the New EF. It’s so wonderful seeing these two both reformed and helping each other.
– Emma Booth continues to intrigue me. What is her game?!
– More Tilly/Alice!!! Her having Rogers push her in the wheelchair and her delivery and expressions while he did it was laugh out loud funny to me. Her line about it being better to start a game in the middle was great too.
– Step-grandma Roni/Regina teaming up with step-granddaughter Lucy was really fun to see. I also liked Lucy’s realization that Roni was Regina and that she went to look in the closet for the storybook as a callback.
– Regina is awake! With so many characters awake, it is truly giving this season a unique vibe from Season 1 that I really like.
Mixed:
– Rumple/Weaver helped Regina/Roni remember who she was with the adoption papers which was great. But why is he being all old-school Rumple and demanding favors? It doesn’t fit with the Rumple we saw in “Beauty” or in the flashback of this episode. I really, really hope something didn’t happen in the past New EF that turned him “dark” again. The storyline I want to see is reformed Rumple overcoming temptation and trying to reunite with his wife. Please, please no more back and forth with him. It will cheapen “Beauty” so much if that happens.
– Regina and Drizella’s interaction. I loved the parallels between Regina/Cora and Drizella/Tremaine. Seeing Regina impart her wisdom gained from S1-6 to someone else younger and in a similar situation as her was so awesome to see – her character arc has truly come to completion/full circle for me and I love it. While the actresses did an incredible job selling their new relationship, I wish there had been a line to establish the training had lasted at least a few weeks. That would have made things a little more believable. I also wish Regina had suggested to Drizella an alternative to killing Tremaine. She could have offered her a home with her in Storybrooke or something other than just, “No you can’t kill her, you’ll regret it.” Let her know there are other options than just murder or remaining in an abusive relationship with her mother.
Disliked:
– Where was Tiana? I don’t like when they have a said character-centric episode and then don’t show said character at all in the next episode. It makes things feel disjointed. Plus, it made more sense story wise for Sabine to be there helping Jacinda with the food truck for her business.
I can’t wait for our double episode next week!!!

Ah ok. So the mid season finale will be Dec. 15 then. That’s the latest they’ve ever gone into December.
I’m thinking it must be that Henry and/or others die. My thought is are we now going to be shown Drizella creating the curse over the next 10 years in flashbacks?
So Rumple appears in this episode’s flashbacks too?!? Woohoo!!!! Also, Adelaide Kane looks the most like she ever has that she could be Regina’s daughter in appearance. Anyone have any crack theories for that?
Believe it or not…that’s actually a popular theory circulating on twitter. It started out as a joke, and I highly think it’s unlikely, but Ivy looks too much like Regina….even in the way they dress in the EF. Her look and black dress in the last episode screamed EQ Regina Days.
Dunno how they’ll work around Regina’s barren curse….well, they worked around Snow White’s, but even still…it’s probably unlikely.
Interesting. Regina tells Robin about her inability to bear children in Storybrooke in “Mother,” right? So the only crazy way I can see Drizella being her daughter is if Regina had her with someone in the past in the EF prior to the events of “Mother,” and then Drizella was frozen in time or de-aged. I can’t see them going that way, but it is kind of uncanny how alike they look.

Yeah this is exactly what was confusing me. But previews can be deceptive.
–This, however, is problematic if the Tiger Lily/Lucy scenes in S6 are flashbacks to the present day S7 HH stuff. Why? Because Lucy is 10 and Regina, Rogers, Tiana, Henry, Cinderella, et all have still not aged a single day from the time Henry and Cinderella met in the EF 2.0 even though at minimum 11 years should have passed (Lucy’s age + 1 year for courtship/conception). And if time is moving more quickly then everyone really should have aged.
Great summation of all the info we know and trying to piece it together RG. I think it could go either way with the S6 New EF scenes taking place before or after the current events of HH. I still lean toward before and that A&E will either introduce a time freeze or de-aging macguffin, or more likely, they will expect us to think the characters wouldn’t look that different after the 11 year minimum. It’s silly, but I think they very well may go that route.
In regards to Lucy’s awareness, I actually just recalled Lucy was present in the flashbacks of the FTL. So not only was she possibly born there but she should have already met the others who were there.
So….why is itba surprise to her next episode that roni is Regina. Shouldn’t have known this? or is Lucy not really “awake” but has pieced everything together from what she read in the book?

You mean at the end of S6? I think that was a flashfoward, not back.
The scenes of Lucy and Henry/ Lucy and Tiger Lily in EF 2.0 were flashforwards compared to when the story left off in S6 in SB, but they were actually flashbacks compared to the present-day in HH. Henry has aged 20 years since he left SB, and we know that Lucy is 10. (Never mind the fact that Regina hasn’t aged a day. Maybe Regina has been using magic to keep herself looking youthful).
I think the scenes with Lucy and Henry in 6×21 and 6×22 take place before our present day events and the darkness attacking Henry was the curse coming that brought everyone to HH. But that’s just my theory. It could have been a flash forward that takes place after the present day HH events.
