    A beautifully done episode.

    Liked:

    – Rumple and Belle throughout the years was beautiful. This was the character development I’ve been wanting for Rumple since Season 2. Watching him drop the dagger and not use the power for decades was amazing to see. I sincerely hope whether the show continues on to a S8, that this season ends with Rumple ridding himself of the dagger and being reunited with Belle. I didn’t think they could ever redeem RumBelle after Seasons 4-6, but they really did.

    – Alice was so much fun! I love how she speaks in riddles and she really held her own in her scenes with Robert Carlyle which is no small feat!

    – Drizella finally getting some character development. I’m definitely intrigued to know more of her backstory. I’m already sympathizing with her.

    – Roni/Regina continues to give the great advice that comes from the past 6 seasons of her character development. Loving it.

    – Rumple is awake!!!!!!!!!

    Mixed:

    – Alice got to be “awake” for the episode which was awesome, but now she’s not thanks to her “pills.” Perhaps Rumple will take them from her?

    – Belle’s makeup was great in her final scene as her oldest – in between…not so much lol. #thatsnothowgrayingworks

    – While I did find it hilarious that Lucy wore a brown paper bag over her because Ivy wouldn’t help her with her makeup, I wish Lucy would have dressed up as someone from Henry’s book. That would have seemed more in character for her to use this as an opportunity to “bring the book to life.”

    Disliked:

    – Why didn’t True Love’s Kiss break Rumple’s Dark One Curse like it began to in Skin Deep? Because it’s different/stronger now? I wish they would have at least Oncesplained (to use Jeremy’s word lol) some kind of nonsensical reason, rather than not addressing it all.

    – They definitely could have handled the “fairy prophecy” thing better. It was confusing and felt too convenient.

    – It would have been nice to have seen Emma Booth’s character again this episode, even if just briefly since they ended 7×03 with the reveal of her.

Well that was pretty awesome! LOL at the one grey streak of hair though when Belle is only in her 40s now. Something must go awry, right? I’d like to see Rumple no longer as the Dark One, but I doubt they’ll go that route.

Looking a bit further down the rabbit hole, “In an upcoming episode, we’re going to learn about what happened to her in Wonderland,”

Exciting! I wonder if that episode will be in 7A or 7B.

Do we have any Live + 7 numbers for 7×01 and 7×02?

Do we think next week being RumBelle will cause even a .1 bump up?

    Super excited!!!!

Tilly appears to be waking up from the curse and is intent on leading Weaver to the truth – but not if Victoria can help it.

I hope Tilly/Alice stays awake! I have a bad feeling she’ll be awake long enough to wake up Rumple and then Tremaine will put her “back to sleep.”

Past Ella running out of the camp without any witness beyond Regina. UH you are a resistance group. WHY are all you SLEEPING. Who is not guarding the camp. Y’all going to die…

    Hahahahaha! Excellent point.

    4. Unpopular opinion I do like Ella. I really do. I know there are things I don’t agree with. She is rash and she is impulsive. However as person who had experience with single mothers, especially single mother’s who are impoverish. I have empathy for her, and I feel for her. Its hard when you are hard times and you are desperate. When your children are weaponize against you. I don’t wish that on anybody. Maybe because I have seen that story with mothers who are escaping abusive/controlling relationships however struggle to regain custody of their children.

Well said. And I think Dania is portraying her very well. I really believed her emotions in this episode – she really came into her own.

Yeah, I wish A&E hadn’t stated such a purposeful parallel between Henderella? and Snowing. They’re completely different and I like that. I think a Snow 2.0 would be boring and they’ve left a lot of room for Ella’s character to grow, which I also like.

I still find it difficult to consider Cinderella a real “heroine” for Henry after she seriously considered murdering him or that that poor innocent guy for that matter. While the heroes of Once have been accused of being boring, I’ve always found it a lot easier to root for the characters who protect innocent life than the ones who destroy it.

She’s definitely not a hero yet in the flashbacks, and I don’t feel like they’re portraying her as one yet. We’re seeing her journey to become a hero. But yes, I definitely agree that I want heroes who are honorable and worth rooting for – I’m assuming Ella will get there, hopefully soon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that Wish Hook wasn’t originally from the Wish Realm after all. He had already crossed paths with EF2 Lady Tremaine, and he said he had been traveling from realm to realm in search of his daughter.

Interesting theory. Where do you think he could be from then?

I don’t hate the idea of Belle growing old and dying as long as it’s part of her happily ever after with Rumple.

I agree. I don’t mind Belle dying in this episode if it’s part of her long, natural life full of love and family. And if the rest of the season is Rumple wanting to die to be with her, only to change his mind because he realizes he needs to live for their children Gideon and Alice then by god, I’ll call that a good story and *exactly* what Rumple’s final arc should be!

THIS. I would LOVE that. That would finally redeem him in my eyes. His character arc leading up to the S6 finale just felt too rushed and unconvincing to me. We’ve seen him make sacrificial decisions before. But I want to see him make a selfless choice that means he continues living with the consequences of his decision in a way that really affects him, and it means he is there for his children.

Are we supposed to believe Ella’s guilt about the death of her step-sister is so strong that she would really help her step-mom murder someone just after she learned her father had been murdered by that snake? I don’t think so! Snow White would never have tried to murder an innocent even if it meant bringing Daniel back to life. Snow wouldn’t even take an innocent life to save her own mother from death.

This sums up my issues pretty well I’d say. They’ve set up Henry and Ella to be the next Snow and Charming. Which is fine, I don’t mind that. But it invites us to compare FlashbackElla to FlashbackSnow, and Ella just isn’t stacking up by comparison right now.

The Live + 7 ratings don’t take into account those who watch on Hulu or abc.com within a week do they?

    Quote

    No.

Ok. I realize the live numbers I most important, but the Live + 7 and those watching on Hulu have to count for something right? The television viewing landscape has changed so much, I can’t imagine some of these other numbers aren’t taken into account as at least factors.
