I know what you mean! I think it’s because in the HH photos we’ve seen of her, her makeup is just sooo different.

I think a variation on this that would be ideal and satisfying would be for Hook and Emma to obtain some kind of magic object that shows them their future of reuniting. That way we know they get their HEA, it’s “an emotional curtain call” for Emma since she and Hook are temporarily separating and she can’t go help Henry because (insert reason), and we get to see the actual Hook from the past 5 seasons going forward.
Why does it have to be magical objet? Why can’t it just be a simple FF post curse at the end of 7×02. Simple as that.
This way Hook and Emma know they’ll be reunited. I think it would be more fun for them to be “in on” the flash forward with the audience.

What’s a better way to help give Hook some good light (especially now that Emma’s gone and many think Hook serves no purpose without her!) than to have Real!Hook decide to suffer through a curse, be separated from Emma, all to help Henry!
I mean…Hook, prior to the curse happening say to Henry, “You may not have my blood, but I loved your father and I love your mother. We’re family and we’ll get through this together.” *That* is what the story should be.
Sure. But it’s still a much better story, IMO, to send *real* Hook for the story reasons I stated above. Not Copy!Hook. I mean why should I care about Clone!Hook and him being there to help Henry. Real Hook helping Henry, suffering through the curse…that’s the better story, IMO. And it keeps to so many of the themes the show likes to present. But the story in which Hook and Emma say “we’re gonna make a clone of Hook to keep you safe so we can go back to our normal lives in SB” is soooo much weak sauce, for me.
Yes. THIS. It wouldn’t even really bother me if the in show reason they give for Emma not being able to come herself is dumb – I’m fine with just knowing Jmo isn’t returning as a regular so that’s the real reason why.
Personally I think the Clone!Hook theory might be right but also really….bad. It’s not a good narrative point. It makes both Emma and Hook look like cowards and frankly too wrapped up in their own personally happily ever after to care about Henry and what he’s going through. So..what? Emma and Hook pop over to New!EF see that Henry is in trouble (as is his wife and presumably daughter) and while Regina and maybe Rumple choose to help Henry even if it means another curse and being separated from SB, loved ones, ect, Emma and Hook just offer a clone of his stepfather instead of helping out by going themselves??
Yeah. Huh? Unfortunately I could see them going this route as TheWatcher said and Colin seemed to be saying there’s a separate version of Hook in HH vs. the one living out his HEA with Emma. But what’s the point of bringing Hook back if you’re not bringing back the Hook we’ve grown to know over the last 5 seasons. Colin is a great actor and seems like a stand up guy, but are people going to love him so much that it doesn’t matter if he’s a different Hook? Maybe, but then you’re going to have people complaining if they try to pair this new Hook up with a love interest. I’m really confused.
I think it is weird that one of them said that Henry is sixteen. I really hope they are wrong. I think that Regina would want him to finish high school. There is a lot of weird in these interviews and we can only hope some of it is just the actors having no clue what they are talking about.
I think it’s said that Henry is 18 in the first few minutes they already released of the episode.
Colin confirms here he is playing an alternate version of Hook and the previous version of Hook is living his happily ever after with Emma.

This is sooooo bizarre to me. So this New Hook a completely new character without the character development and history with Regina, Rumple and Henry from the past 6 seasons? I don’t like it… am I just confused or not understanding what Colin says in the video correctly?
I would never count out curiosity for people who at least want to see if they’ll like the new direction.
This. I think it’s possible some fans who gave up on the show a few seasons ago will at least tune in for the premiere out of curiosity. And then ep 2 is Captain Swan so that will get viewers. I think it’s possibly the first two EPA could even get a 1. something.
I do think it’s interesting Colin says it’s some of the best writing he’s seen on the show. That seems like a genuine statement, not a talking point he was given to parrot.
When is the first episode showing ??? I know it was changed to Fridays but what is the first day?
