ONCE - Once Upon a Time podcast
Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
Least favorite – the crane shot showing all the realms united… in Maine? Not only that, maybe covering a few square miles of Maine at best like Disneyland (likely not a coincidence). Just how big (small?) ARE the realms, anyway? Also, how the heck does Immigration handle that? Are Alice and Robin DREAMers now? Does the Happy Curse grant everyone citizenship or just visas? Is Tiana still a queen regent or is she like a suzerain of Regina? I’m really thrown off by how the politics integrates.
Most favorite – The end of Rumple. Not one second of that explanation made any CENSORED sense relative to any explanation of how the Dark One powers work prior to this episode, but fine. Whatever. The writers painted themselves into a corner and decided to parkour off the walls to get out. Close enough. I enjoy self-destructing villains enough to look past the internal logic problems. (My favorite moment of the whole series is still Rumple’s.. um.. let’s say “pointed reunion” with Pan at the end of 3A)
OK, meta-theory time. Is it possible that this twist was written by Ginny and Josh so that they’d always have one person off set to watch the kids? If we see whatever half of Snowing is asleep all the time that would obviously shoot this theory down, but as the parent of two very small children myself this seems like something I might come up with for a purely logistical reason.
Hey wait a tick, is that Henry’s kinda-girlfriend from the start of 5A? What’s her name.. eh, Violet! They’ve been on, what, one date and he’s going to bring her along to destroy magic? Movin’ kinda fast there, pal.
