The Golden Bird is a Grimm fairy tale and is not a simple one. I’m still digesting it to see how it relates to Once.

sacrlcParticipantI half expected to see a Rumple/Belle rumble which would have been fascinating given their history, but alas.
I do have to say my favorite scene was Snow and Regina’s fierce fight and when the spell suddenly lifted the big surprise to see Snow and Regina laughing hysterically with each other. classic!

December 8, 2014 at 11:09 pm in reply to: Is Anyone Else Confused & Bothered With Rumple's Storyline? #292561sacrlcParticipantI can’t believe in Rumple’s “take over the world” mode either. it doesn’t fit his character up to this point, nor for that matter, Regina’s storyline with Robin. Regina & Robin odd coupling. (evil queen who murdered his wife and whole villages because of her revenge for Snow White becomes his love interest? Especially once Marian showed up). Regina was the more adult and honorable than Robin in regards to his obligation to his wife. So much for his sense of honor, (oh, Errol Flynn, where have you gone?). What happened? did we end up with new screenwriters this season? some of these variations away from the quality and canon developed so far reminds me of what was done to the sequel to the Pirates of the Caribbean. it was so lame like it had been written by 12 year old boys. kinda spoiled the rest of the PoC series for me.
i can see Rumple working his way to sever his tie with the dagger and still keep his powers. but to rule the whole world? are we going to see James Bond next?
i really hope they do a course correction and return to the original story and character qualities that has made this series so phenomenal.
That said, this is still my favorite show.

sacrlcParticipantAfter seeing the mention of baby Neil perhaps being immune from the spell, I had this comical vision him having a similar talent as the baby from the movie “The Incredibles”, poofing into fire, a monster, or maybe brandishing a light sabre when he is not happy.

sacrlcParticipantIf I recall correctly, when Tink showed Regina her “soul mate” was in the tavern, we saw the tattoo, but no one ever said that Robin was the soul mate, or that whomever had the tattoo was Robin, it was just assumed. Perhaps, Robin and Regina are mistaking physical attraction for destiny when instead, she has yet to meet her real soul mate. We never did see a face in the tavern. The tattoo was easily seen, but not much else.

sacrlcParticipantI know it has to be a lot of work for POM, especially now that the series (and other great shows) have resumed, but I sure miss the caption threads. They are so clever and such a hoot.

sacrlcParticipantLets consider this:
Things we know:
1) Rumple’s doings for others ALWAYS has a “way out”. If the task is not specifically stated, he will do whatever he wants by exactly sticking to the technicalities the task was stated but doing what is to his advantage.
2) Rumple created the curse as stated in episode 1×22 , not Zelena or anyone else because he would need the heart of the thing that is loved the most by the enactor of the curse. Bae was his, so he had to have someone else enact the curse who was willing to pay the price.
3) He created a love potion containing the hair of both Snow and Charming that he put in the curse as a “safety valve”, a way to prevent himself from becoming totally under the spell as everyone else would be.
4) We don’t know what happened with his dark powers when he stabbed himself through his father. If the dark one could stab himself and “break” the dark one curse, the beggar(Zoso) in the beginning of the series would not have needed Rumple to kill him to release Zoso from the spell.
So…. is it possible that perhaps
1) Rumple still has his memories but may be “pretending” he doesn’t.
2) WW took what was left of his curse (?) and made it her own not realizing she didn’t know all the hidden pertinent information about the curse including his “safety valve”: Emma
3) He knows what WW wants to do. He knows because he originally made the curse, knows how it’s made and he knows the only way to break it is true love, which Emma has for her parents. WW did not originally know this which is why it took 4 months for her to send Walsh to Emma.
4) Even though WW has the dagger, she may not have “total” control of Rumple probably due to the way he “died” – hence the method he is using to prevent himself from being completely under control of WW. His magic may be under her control perhaps to a point, but his mind is not. He may be “technically” following her directions, but in a way to his advantage. He knows what is at stake and what needs to be done to “undo” WW – the savior.
5) Emma was able to resist Cora’s dark magic, so does WW know that Emma can resist and overpower WW’s magic? Did WW find out about the savior (perhaps from the curse or somehow intercepting the directions to Hook) and sent Walsh to monitor and prevent Emma from remembering and coming back to Storybrooke?
6) He sent the potion ingredients to Hook, directing the bird to find him (like he did his shadow) and deliver it to Hook – OR perhaps sent it to Bae who sent it to Hook (Unsure about the potion/potion ingredients – Hook makes conflicting statements. – is he a monkey now ????)
On another note: Are Snow and Aurora’s babies destined one to be a boy and the other a girl that may either have powers like Emma or will eventually fall in love and produce a second savior? Both are products of true love. Is this why WW wants both of the babies?

sacrlcParticipantDUH – I forgot Cora is Zelena’ mother. Never mind, I’ll go back in my little hole.

sacrlcParticipantWell, I tried to do a spoiler tag…. sorry about that.
Don't grow up. It's a trap.
sacrlcParticipantHowever, after listening to the Canadian promo, you can clearly hear Rumple say: “Just exactly what is it you are?” Zelena: ”Something you’ve spent a lifetime seeking. Luckily, I won’t have to.”
I’ve been thinking about the dialogue between Rumple and Zelena and came up with another possibility:
Rumple: “Just exactly what is it you are?”
Zelena: ”Something you’ve spent a lifetime seeking.”
His mother
“Luckily, I won’t have to.”
She not only knew where he was because she left him and Malcolm when Rumple was young and now is/will be under her control.
I’m a bit fuzzy on the timeline however. Could this fit?Don't grow up. It's a trap.
