I too would like to see Emma end up with someone other than Neal. By all means, Emma and Neal should give their relationship another go in order to resolve any left over feelings they have for one another. If it continues or falls apart then it’s all good. However, I don’t want them to get back together just for the sole reason that Neal is Henry’s father.

They may not kill Neal this season but I believe they will definately kill him off next season. I stand by what I said, if they were planning on keeping Neal long term they would have bumped him up to series regular. Since they didn’t, it just shows that Neal is crucial to the show.
Killing Neal would definitely send Rumple on a trip back to the dark side and potentially set him up as a villain for at least half a season. Rumple’s not really been a villain so far but has been playing both sides against each other. Rumple’s motivation as a villain would be grief instead of revenge (Regina), power (Cora) or greed (Tamara).
As for the ‘fun in vegas’ thing- That was ages ago! That was when the cast, writers, directors were trying to not give any hints that CS was going to happen. I wouldn’t take that too seriously. You’re looking at one little quote from an interview and ignoring the hundreds of other evidence that shows us CS is happening and, as they say, ‘canon’. What you should look at is, the chemistry, Paleyfest (that was huge for CS), as well as more recent interviews.
If CaptainSwan was going to be a serious long term relationship thing you would think the writer would have said “keep watching” or “you’ll have to wait and see” rather than “fun in vegas”. I can’t remember much from Paleyfest (Was CaptainSwan addressed there? What was said there?) and I’ve not really kept up to date with recent interviews (What was said about CaptainSwan?)
As for chemistry, I’ve seen Hook using a lot of innuendo towards Emma and even some innuendo towards Snow. Emma tolerates Hook and even taunts him at times which I suppose could be seen as flirting with him. Never have I looked at them and thought this is a couple that will settle down into a successful long term relationship.
Sarah_TN– Don’t wory it will happen π The directors said that they try to please everyone (including different ‘ships’). However in the end they are going to go with what they planned from the beginning – Emma/Hook (which they had actually planned since season 1) π
Has it actually been said that Emma/Hook was planned since season 1?
Well, let’s remember this quote from here:
Kitsis said “KITSIS: Itβs hard to deny the handsomeness of Hook. The real question is, is he going to lose the guy-liner in Storybrooke? And the answer is no. Emma is going to find herself with a few choices this season. In all life, there are the people that are right for you and there are the people that are wrong for you, and then there are the people that you just choose. Emma is going to face all those things. Weβll see what happens.”
Remember what Cora said to Hook when he met her at the base of the beanstalk? He said “You chose her”. Does this mean Emma chooses Hook too? Like Kitsis said, we’ll just wait to see what happens. He may not be a great father figure for Henry yet, but let’s see what season 3 does with Killian Jones when it begins, versus who Killian Jones may/can be when it ends.

I am probably going to get some major lashing for what I am about to say, but, what can I say, its my opinion.
I really do not like the idea of the CaptainSwan ship. Yes, they seemed to have a bit of chemistry back in Tallahassee, but that was quite a while ago. Since then, they have been working against one another and they definently do not trust each other. As caniving as Hook is, I do not foresee that changing (unless he has some major character developments in the next four episodes).
Hook would flirt with anyone, hes a pirate. This ship just does not seem realistic to me.
Hook is caniving, but there’s going to be more to him than what meets the eye. We’ll get to see his back-story.
One thing to remember: Nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes. People change. I’ve seen it myself in my life. I’m hoping I get to see it on the show, too.
As for character development: I hope so. We’ll get to see his backstory, but personally, I’d like to see Colin O’Donoghue become a main cast member and let them develop Hook from villan, to antivillan, to hero. That’s my own personal desire, anyway. That they redeem Hook, develop Hook, and use him to the best potential they have. It’d be a shame to let such firtle soil be wasted without anything planted in it.

From what I know there are 4 days left of shooting. I wonder if Neal dies. It would make sense, seeing as he is still a guest star and isn’t even a series regular. And maybe Henry is so upset over Neal dying that he goes away to Neverland – it’s a long shot but still possible. I’d be sad if Neal died though, I like the actor, he plays him well.
I don’t think they would kill off Neal quite yet for several reasons:
1. Rumple- The whole point of the curse was for Rumple to be able to find Bae. Rumple has had a lot to deal with this season- Belle’s amnesia, actually finding Bae, nearly dying, finding out that he’s Henry’s grandfather, dealing with the fact that Henry is supposed to be his undoing. To have Bae then die this season would be a little too much drama for one guy to have to deal with in a single season.
2. Emma- Having Neal back in Emma’s life complicates things for her. The only guy Emma loved comes crashing back into her life and it scares her a liitle bit. She wants to protect herself from how she feels about him. She finds out he’s engaged to someone else, and she pretends she doesn’t care but she does really. Emma still loves him but doesn’t want to admit it. She’s built up these emotional walls so the longer Neal’s around, the harder it is for Emma to keep those walls up. There is potential for some great scenes so to kill Neal off this season would just waste that.
3. Henry- Henry has only just got to know his father after Emma lied about him being dead. To then kill Neal off so soon after Henry has bonded with him would just be cruel.
4. Tamara- Tamara is probably going to be the big bad for at least the first half of season 3. They are not going to kill Neal off until he at least finds out how manipulative Tamara is and how she has been playing him since the moment they both met.
Will Neal survive beyond season 3? If he reunites with Rumple and reunites with Emma, what more is there for him to do? Those are the two big storylines for him. If he achieves both of those then it’ll be time to worry about his survival

By seeing whose on the Jolly Roger it just seems like only Emma could get Hook to take them all to Neverland. All these pics just seems like we’re getting a Captain Swan ending to season two.
Didn’t the writers say, when asked about the possibility of CaptainSwan that Hook would be “fun in Vegas” or something like that. I interpreted that to mean that, if Emma and Hook did hook up, it wouldn’t be a serious relationship but just a bit of fun.
I agree, I don’t think they’ll kill off Neal. I hope not. There’s still a lot they can do with him, too. Personally, my own theory is that next season we’ll eventually see Neal again and in the interim, that Hook will have something to do with that. Maybe that’s what draws him, and Emma closer. I have no leg to stand on to say I know for sure that’s where the story is going, but if I were writing it, that’s where I’d take it.
I’d like to see a relationship with Emma and Hook become serious. I’ll be sad if that doesn’t happen. So many of us have been anxious for that for so long, and the chemistry, and opendoors are definitely there, and ready for potential. I’d love to see Hook become a main character on the show (Neal, as well). There’s so much room to develop him. That Leggo block is so versitile, and it’s just begging for somebody to play with it.
I know about first loves, and I know about true loves, and I know Neal is Henry’s father, but…I’d like to see the show place value in the concept of step-families. If no one’s done a OUAT fanvid to We Are Family yet, that needs to happen.
That would be good. “Home” by Phillip Phillips is also a great song for Once Upon A Time. I think of that show every time I hear it. That one’s already been used for some videos online.

I’m actually working on a Once video project right now (a theoretical opening theme song sequence using the fanmade song “I Will Always Find You”). I happen to already have Hook footage imported in my video editor, so maybe I’ll consider it. =]
Thank you! I’d make one if I knew how, but I do love to watch these on Youtube! π
If you decide you like the idea and want to do that, let me know! Would love to see! π

I’ve been hearing a lot of people state that Neal and Emma are going to be the “endgame”. I get why people like them together. He’s the father of her child. He’s her first love. I admire and definitely think there is something beautiful about first love. However, I would be disappointed if they ended up together, and it is not just because I think that Emma and Hook are a better match for each other.
The show constantly reiterates the “first love” in most of the relationships on the show and often states that your first love is who you are meant to be with. Look at Snow and Charming or Regina and Daniel, Belle, and perhaps Rumpel (the jury is out on this one – I’m not really sure if he was truly in love with Milah or Cora). From a creative sense, I think they need to show that sometimes love happens again and that maybe your first love is not exactly your true love. In the real world, some people get a second chance and find love after losing their first love. That (and many other reasons) is why I would enjoy seeing the Emma and Hook romantic relationship explored.
That is my two cents. I don’t write the show but they must be doing a good job if they got me thinking about the characters outside of viewing it. π
I agree. Concentrating too much on the “first love” leaves no room for “new” love, or for step-families. I grew up with step-parents who I grew to love much as my own parents and learned a lot about the nature of “love” along the way. I think the experience made me a wiser person, and helped mature my outlook on the world I live in. I am hoping the writers will keep step-families in mind.

No disrespect to you all, but honestly are we seriously shipping Hook and Emma? Seriously? I mean, yeah, Hook is super hot. But the show has made it pretty clear that you only get one soul mate, and Hook’s is dead. Plus, Hook plays dirty with all the women. He didn’t really love her, he was just being a player. And the fact that Hook is step-dad to the father of her son (seriously, the relationships in this are insane) makes this all just wrong. Guys, that’s like her sleeping with Gold! Eww! And anyway, she clearly belongs with Neal. In a show, when they want two characters to be together they start taking away the competition. Tamara is evil, Pinocchio is a kid (Graham is long dead) and Hook is nowhere to be seen.
Plus, Hook is mine πYes, I ship Captain Swan. I think there’s huge potential for Hook’s soul to not be “dead” as people may think….
….and by the way…
He’s mine! All mine! Bwah hahahaha!!! π π
Just kidding π
