There’s a connection here somewhere.
[adrotate group="5"]sarah_tnParticipantThe thought of Cora and Rumple. That is making a shiver go down my spine. She’d bring out the very worst in him, I’m sure.
sarah_tnParticipantThe car incident isn’t the only thing factoring this theory. It’s also his refusal to fight back when he was beaten by Rumple, and some of the things he said to Belle below deck on the ship.

I was hoping for her writting Manhattan, but it may be a bit too early for her to get another episode after this one. But she does know how to write Rumplestiltskin.
She writes all my favorite episodes, but if Gold starts up with Cora, I’ll never be able to forgive her. In the present, that is, because I have a sneaking suspicion that they had an affair in the past.
Gold and Cora? I can’t see that. Not in his right mind. Rumple is evil, but he genuinely loves Belle. He’d never give up on her. Not on purpose.
sarah_tnParticipantI feel so bad for Regina. I hope Hook’s fans don’t get short-changed this go around. I hope we get a couple of good sneak peeks with him in there. He wasn’t even in the promo. 🙄

Well I disagree with you but that’s what these forums are for if we’d all have the same idea it would be boring..
About the Your Heart is Rotten…it’s because Hook does think his heart is rotten not literally but figuratively
He didn’t try to defend himself because he felt like he deserved to die, he’s not afraid of death he welcomes it, he wants to be with Milah.. He could have killed Belle many times during the episode but he didn’t and even when he shot her it was someplace he knew it wouldn’t kill her.
His attitude is just a mask, the man beyond the mask is broken. His revenge is basically done, Rumple lost Belle in a way..
About Archie
We know Archie knows about Bae and that he had a bad relationship with Rumple (told in the stranger) but I don’t think he told Hook about Bae, I think he might have mentioned Belle (not anything specific though), Hook already knew about Baelfire (he’s also Milah’s son remember) and he knew Milah made the shawlI couldn’t have said it better myself!
I think in a way he blames himself for Milah’s death because he couldn’t protect her. Even when fighting the giant he calls himself the worst human around.
I personally don’t understand why people still believe that he is ‘evil’. The way I see it is if someone killed someone I love, I would not stop until I get even with them and get my revenge. I mean, it’s almost impossible to just say, ‘Oh they were just killed. Oh well life goes on..’, that’s not realistic.
Hook is so self-loathing, that its taken over him.
But what I have noticed is that there are 2 sides to Hook-Captain Hook and Killian Jones. In this peisode we saw Hook, but whenever he is around Emma (such as ep6) we see Killian Jones who opens up to Emma and can beat down her walls.‘He could have killed Belle many times during the episode but he didn’t and even when he shot her it was someplace he knew it wouldn’t kill her. ‘
Exactly. Yes he did shoot Belle who is an innocent by stander. But he didn’t kill her, which is what he wanted. I’ve seen some people say that what he has done is worse than killing her. But I strongly disagree. At least Rumple’s love is still alive and breathing. Over time her memory will come back, either through Rumple’s magic or something that will trigger he memory (which I think might be the chipped cup).We know Archie knows about Bae and that he had a bad relationship with Rumple (told in the stranger) but I don’t think he told Hook about Bae, I think he might have mentioned Belle (not anything specific though), Hook already knew about Baelfire (he’s also Milah’s son remember) and he knew Milah made the shawl
I never thought of that. That’s very possible, because as far as I know he knew nothing about Rumple and Belles’ relationship. And I highly doubt that he would’ve harmed Bae if he had the chance because he is Milah’s son, like he didn’t want to burn the shawl.
Something that really stood out to me though, was that he acted like he needed the shawl because Milah had made it and touched it. I think that over time Milah began to slip away from him, and she became nothing more than a memory, which is also now starting to slip away. And I think this is why he so desperately wants to be reunted with her, because its as if even her face has faded from his memory.
Despite this episode breaking my heart, its better to get it over with now then having it dragged on. Because now Hook can re-evaluate everything and try to found something that is worth fighting for (Emma). It will take time, but its going to be interesting because we get to see more behind the ‘mask’ he puts up.
Also, jane Espenson wrote the next episode and she really wants Emma and Hook together. So i’m sure next week will be even better 😀 Sorry that this is long, I just had to get it out. 🙂The part underlined: Made me very happy. If Hook survived that wreck, I’ll be very happy. Very, very happy.
Jane Espenson must be a woman of a lot of wonderful talent, and great taste.

I don’t find humor, pleasure, or satisfaction in seeing someone in the real world, or on my favorite tv show get hurt. I prefer Hook, but didn’t find pleasure in seeing Rumple hurt (emotionally) either. I don’t hate any of the characters. Life is too short to be that petty. There’s not an innocent party here. Two wrongs don’t make a right. They’re both at fault. Rumple started it, when he got revenge the first time. That happened the first time when he sold his soul, and the second time when he killed Milah. When will he learn that every evil thing he does will bring him more evil? When will Hook finally have someone who instead of a hand of hatred, will show him compassion and understanding? It’s amazing what can grow when the right seeds are sown. Negativity begets negativity. Right now, the show is really, really negative. I don’t see any hope on the horizon here anywhere, for anybody. I’m not okay with the show leaving it that way for Hook, or for Rumple. All that does, is take, take, take. It doesn’t give back anything and is emotionally draining for no good purpose or benefit. I’m feeling drained, and really low right now. 🙁 😥
This! You can’t say Hook is evil and then praise Rumple just like you can’t praise Hook and then go against Rumple..
They have both done evil things but they are both broken…Hook is a lot more broken because he hasnt let go of Milah and his revenge until now..

Was just posting in another thread about how he took that beating on the boat because he felt he deserved the pain, like it was a release for all the emotional pain he’s been dealing with since the day he failed to protect Milah.
For all the nasty crap he’s done, I can’t help it, my heart broke into a frillion pieces for the guy in this ep because his grief and anger is so all consuming and personally destructive.
I agree. In the end, both Hook and Rumple paid the price for their hatred and unforgiveness. Surely they can’t just leave it there! For either of them! I had so much trouble sleeping last night. I know this is just a tv show, but it hurt!
Yes! Deep down he’s not a villain he’s just a broken man who has made a lot of wrong decisions.. I know they will find a way for them to get Belle’s memory back so I’m not all worried about that.. I am worried about Killian
Hook has just hit rock bottom and he needed to hit it.. the only way he can go is up
I think Emma is going to play a part in helping him get out of the hole he is in..They are very similar people, kindred souls , and she knows what is like to be broken so I do think she’s going to be the one to help him
Plus they did say he was going to fall with the good crowd which I'm thinking it's the charmings, plus it will allow Killian and Emma to get closer and he is going to one of her suitors this season
Thanks. I needed to see that.

O.M.G. This episode was STELLAR!!!
Belle’s backstory was amazing and Emilie de Ravin’s performance was great. I love how the writers finally put her bravery on display and showed us why Belle is so well-loved. She saved Prince Philip from his curse. She went against Mr. Gold’s orders and used her smarts to find Hook’s ship. She rescued Archie while simultaneously fighting off Hook. In fact, she fought off Hook twice in this episode. Belle was incredible in this episode. I can’t wait to see more of her.
Mr. Gold and Hook’s showdown was also pretty epic. Seeing Mr. Gold beat another poor unfortunate soul is always a treat to watch. 😆 And as always, Robert Carlyle was amazing. Colin was great too.
But dude…*Drops to knees* WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! OK, I can take Belle getting shot. I can take Belle having her memory erased. But BOTH? Way too much! Having said that, I think the writers are going to find a way to restore Belle’s memory. I think the rest of Rumpel’s season 2 story arc will consist of him searching for Baelfire while simultaneously coming up with a cure to help restore Belle’s memory.
Oh yeah… ARCHIE’S ALIVE!!! SQUEEEEEEE!!!
I have ZERO clue who the Ethan Embry’s character is going to be. ZERO. 😯
Stellar episode! 10/10 stars.
Oh, this story is just to negative, y’all! It needs something positive in it! Too dark! Too hopeless! Something’s got to give!
About the showdown with Hook: I don’t think we’ve seen the big one yet. If that was it, it fell short, and big time. It just had no depth, at all if that is the case. It was just tragic for everybody. The people who were watching, included.
