ParticipantIt’s just something I can’t continue to do without personally feeling awful. Sorry, for the rant. Just a bit upset about the entirety of planet Earth, right now…
Please know that there are people who aren’t PoC themselves who are also totally over how this show has been treating PoC. It’s no fun when a show that used to bring you happiness, now makes you sad.
Yeah, I know. I generally view this fandom as a group of understanding individuals. I just always feel alone when I feel sad. It’s a thing. :/
Hopefully, I’ll find another show that engages me as much as OUAT did. Though, I doubt I’ll find one with a cool forum of theorists, like this one. 🙂

ParticipantThis episode. I’m DONE with OUAT, I believe. Yep, I think it’s over. There are no likes. I will not give it to them.
DISLIKES
—- To carelessly toss Marian aside, it just seemed like…I’m sorry…but it seemed like they realized their PoC had lived too long, and just needed to rectify that. As an African American, I can’t stand it anymore. I see this as OUAT telling me that people who look remotely like me are an issue. They must exist only for a short period of time, be a villain, be an obstacle, be subservient, die by white-main-character, or (as is now the case for the SECOND time) already be dead before we even “have to deal with them”. Or a combination of the previous options! I told myself that if they killed Marian to get her out of the way of OQ, I’d quit this show. I really want to like it, but I feel so so insulted, and alone when I watch this. I may just stop watching. I’m not giving my view count to this show, and as much as it hurts to hate something I loved, I won’t care if it’s cancelled. I’m tired of seeing this in media, especially media that I like.
So, to have them tell me for the umpteenth time that I am nothing but an obstacle for white characters to remove or overcome, I guess I finally get the message. On another note, I really don’t judge anyone who sticks with the show. It’s just something I can’t continue to do without personally feeling awful. Sorry, for the rant. Just a bit upset about the entirety of planet Earth, right now…
—- Rumpel’s Enchanted High Cholesterol is just silly to me.
—- Zelena exists at all. There is no purpose to her.
—- Will. What are you even? Do you need to exist? I’m not thinking so.

ParticipantI don’t think that he literally means he has her hands tied. Rumpel’s probably making Regina help them against her will. So, he’s saying “tied” as in “has no choice in the matter”/”has been put at some sort of disadvantage”.
*resists the urge to make a 50 Shades of Grey joke*
Mr. Gold: Yes. If you struggle, I’ll tie your feet, too. If you make a noise, Regina, I will gag you.
There, doesn’t that feel better?
…It wasn’t me. Google did this. If I could never have looked this quote up, I would never have used it. I say, shame on the internet, and the fact that “Gold” and “Grey” are both colors starting with “G”, for leaving me not a drop of resistance to deny this joke.

ParticipantSo, if she’s…but how? When? Why? Whaat? Oh well…Maybe it has to do with Emma screwing up time. I won’t flip tables until I see how this plays out. Thank you for the cookie, RG. I’ll keep it close for comfort on the rocky road ahead.
The most common theory is that when she “died”, her essence lived on in her pendant. We saw Zelena’s magic open the time vortex, so it’s likely Zelena’s essence traveled back in time, and she somehow reformed her body.
In a way…the pendant was Zelena’s “horcrux”.
Hehe. Good way to put it, WickedRegal.
Man, I slack off on reading the spoilers page for just a little while, and everything happens. I only have one more big question: Why the heck is she Marian? For what reason? Any spoilers I missed regarding that little explanation?

Participant…And Zelena is still dead
Wellllllllllll not so much we know Zelena is alive and is really Marian
No. NO. Don’t say that, RumplesGirl. That’s not true. It can’t be.
Those…Those maniacs. They blew it up! Ah, darn them! Gosh darn them all to the Vault!
(Once will never make Hell a thing.)

ParticipantStoryline Prediction 1:
They’re going to explain that Rumpel’s got a black, black, little, raisin heart, because Nealfire died, and his revenge on Zelena only darkened his heart just enough to put him past the point of no return. It explains the behavior change, and It’s slowly going to kill him. That’s what he needs to change.
Zelena’s only “More powerful than EVAH!” in the past…because she’s still dead.
Storyline Prediction 2:
The villains get their way next episode, but Rumpel somehow has his future rewritten only, leaving the others in the dust. What we’re seeing here in his scene, is his “happy” ending. Gold’s in New York, and it looks like Belle is over him. Happy ending for Rumpel= Bae accepting his apology, getting medical help for the poison instead of having to leave, and HEA. But things won’t be as planned…thus the fact that he does not seem pleased.
…And Zelena is still dead.

ParticipantI knew something was up with Rumpel’s heart. I guessed that it’d turned from dark, to practically stone-like a while back when he started being a douche. Hopefully that’s where they’re taking this, so that we can save a bit of his character. That way, he won’t die so terribly inconsistent. They’ll also have another chance to amend some bad writing by mentioning Bae’s death/Zelena’s year long mind rape being the reason for his. (Bae was his happy ending, for Pete’s sake.). Fingers crossed.
Favorite:
-Regina! Right on, girl. I’ve been loving you since you started making the right decisions even when it’s tough. She’s lovely.
-Ursula existed. (My PoC meter must be filled in whatever way it can be with this show…)
-Hey, you guys remember when Henry, like, did things and meant stuff? Good times. Dude, it was total nostalgia this episode.
Least Favorite:
-(going to be a little long) Snow and Charming were just awful people, but not in a thought provoking way. All of the things that we comment on in the forums that OUAT unknowingly made the values of these characters (e.g. forget everyone, but people we care about), they made happen purposefully this time, but only acknowledged it in the situation having to do with plot. I’m fine with them being jerks, but they just keep dancing around the fact that Charming is about to burn a man alive. Snow is all “Regina won’t get her happy ending!” Excuse me? Charming is going to BURN A MAN ALIVE.
Also, did they ever even mention that Emma will never be who she could have been because of this? That she has no real possibility in life? That everything Emma is really doesn’t unfold, so much as it is orchestrated by their selfish desires? No matter what, she will never have a true up and down, because all paths must now lead to “good”. They robbed her of developing into whoever her life would have her become, for better or worse. They robbed her of all of the value of her adventure and all of the effort she puts in to do right, because it’s not her choice. It’s theirs. They have no child. Just a puppet. And that didn’t cross their minds at all? C’mon. If you’re going to have big topics about God and fate, explore big questions.
-Magical camera glare… Hmm, it must be impossible to capture camera or video of nearly half of everything in town. Oh, wait. There once was a guy named Greg…
-Mr. Carlyle’s been a bit stiff. It makes me sad, but it’s almost like he’s bored of it all, now. I miss season one, Rumpel. The one that was a smooth criminal as Gold, and who jumped all over the place and actually used the high pitched voice when he was the Dark One? Memories…
Mixed:
-Rumpel’s sudden goodness (almost?). Stop confusing me, Once. Man…smooth transitions, please.
-Many Authors? Interesting. I want to see where they go with this, before I get excited. The author being that peddler was kinda cool, though.
-Something was weird about the Maleficent baby taking scene. I can’t put my finger on it (maybe it’s that Maleficent knows tons of magic, and could probably have force-choked Snow into next Tuesday, and picked her baby from Snow’s cold, dead fingers without a hitch. But, then again, who knows?)

ParticipantI loved this episode to pieces. There were tons-o-flaws as per usual, but nothing that made me annoyed enough to care too much.
Favorite:
– Bad Snow was delicious.
– Ingrid was just wonderful. I really felt for her more than ever I had. The way that she was so overjoyed in the flashback when Emma hugged her was touching. Her craving for love was real, and so tragic to me this episode.
– Regina, Snow, and Charming sharing a laugh. I loved it.
– Everything. Love it all. Bittersweet, and then all of these warm, feel-good emotions. I haven’t had warm, feel-good emotions for ONCE in so long.
Mixed:
– I don’t know why Ingrid had to die to reverse the spell. I don’t think that was ever mentioned before. Maybe I’m just missing something?
– Rumpel being a butt. When he said “I can’t say the same for the rest of the world.” everything was confirmed for me. I honestly think he is out for world domination now, or at the very least will be the big bad. I may just stop hoping for a redemption for him and start liking him for being a good villain again, because trying to think of him as the Rumpel I came to sympathize with is way too tough.
Disliked:
– The curse was a little less than I’d hoped. I wanted to see more wanton destruction. It also sucked that Rumpel and Belle weren’t affected, and thus, didn’t get to have the most interesting confrontation in OUAT history. I’d been wanting them to duke it out the moment the concept was introduced. I dunno, that’s just me, I guess.
– The bottle just being there. Yup, I feel like I definitely missed something because that was way too convenient.
Only two outright dislikes for the first time in a century? Hmmm….Well, here’s a silly kitten to fill space.

ParticipantLoving Snow’s lack of caring! Charming seems like he’s gonna get pretty intense. Here’s to hoping he gets out of the cage somehow, because I feel like he’ll actually try to kill a thing. That’ll be fun to see. I feel like this may get good. I hope this builds and gets really crazy, instead of just staying at Spell of Endless Bickering. (Though, I do love me some bickering.)
One question: Maybe I missed something, but why is Kristoff free? Is he not cursed, too? Anna is in danger of being hurt, and Kristoff is in danger of being hurt for the protection of others. He should be put off somewhere too. He’s back there looking like he wants to break something in half. This spell is supposed to incite people to murderous violence. He’s not special. Handcuff both hands to a telephone pole at the very least.
As far as the second sneak goes…Shattered Sight does not equal memory loss. Even if it did, I’m confused as to how much they are making Regina forget. She remembers Emma, yet she doesn’t remember wearing normal clothing, yet whatever time her brain is in has not worn Evil Queen attire in quite some time? …What?
