I’m convinced Zelena is either going to be pregnant or fake a pregnancy in order to cause more drama for OQ. Robin will end up with Regina because the Zelarian deception can’t continue forever but Robin’s “code” won’t let him abandoned his “unborn child” no matter how much he despises Zelena.
I think even this show wouldn’t touch that with a 30 ft. pole.
There aren’t any spare hearts lying around down in Regina’s vault that they could use as a prop? They couldn’t have had that whole scene at the well (not including the part where Belle mentions Will, which really wasn’t necessary) with Belle just being herself? Then, if she and Regina are legit working together, Regina could have stepped out holding any old random heart and pretend that it was Belle’s
I actually don’t think this was possible. Regina’s goal was two-fold. To find out why Rumple was in town and to hold something over Rumple that would convince him not to rat on Zelena.
To accomplish the first obviously they didn’t even need a heart. To accomplish the second, a real threat had to be established. If Belle never said those callous things, Rumple would never have believed she was being controlled. We saw Rumple challenge Regina’s willingness to complete the threat after realizing Belle was being controlled. To me that shows you how unsuccessful a fake heart would go over.
I do agree that the real victims are Belle, Robin, and (Roland). I could go on a whole rant about what loving a villain means on this show, but I won’t.

Rumple was in town for 3 weeks before he kidnapped Regina. Plenty of time to come up with an alternative plan than helping the woman who murdered his son.
But is that not what Regina did? Regina did tons of bad things in her pursuit of vengeance against Snow including: Slaughtering a village, sending numerous children to be eaten by a cannibal witch, enslaving the huntsman and using him as a sex slave, etc. Regina made those decisions herself until one day she decided she didn’t want to be that person any more. Does Regina deserve sympathy?
Emphasis. Regina DID those things, whereas Rumple is DOING those things. Right now. Present Day.
You said Regina could have just had Belle talk to Rumple about not threatening Robin. Which….do we really believe he would have gone along with that?
And in the same thread why didn’t Rumple just talk to Regina about going along with his plan to dupe the Wicked Witch? Or you know, telling Robin that his wife is dead and Zelena is Marian? Those are all choices he could have made.

She’s in Wonderland at the point Regina meets Tinkerbell, but she was able to come back to get Regina’s dad.
I saw a theory (sorry I can’t remember the originator!) that Cora had the Author alter the Page 23 scenario which is why there are two versions.
Yes she was still saving Henry, but she took the most extreme route to do so.
Part of me feels like Emma wouldn’t have gone to such lengths if she wasn’t pushing back on the idea that her parent’s actions made her good. Emma has always been incredibly self-sufficient, to a fault. So the idea introduced by Snow earlier in the day that The Charmings are responsible for her morality would have chaffed.
It almost seemed to me like a ‘I will show you I’m not the perfect savior.” And add on that Emma used light magic to kill Cruella would add to the darkness of the deed.
Did Belle willingly surrender her heart to the woman who took away her memory and held her hostage for 30 odd years? Did Belle trust Regina not to crush her heart?
We’ve already seen Belle this season give Regina the Dark One’s dagger. That is an incredible amount of trust. Belle and Regina have had years between her incarceration and now. Add on the fact that Belle trusted Killian and I can understand why Belle would let Regina take her heart.
I do think Regina did take the opportunity to twist the knife to Rumple with that speech and decided to make Belle forget saying those things to Rumple. That was satisfying to me, but cruel to do to Belle.
Rumple isn’t doing what he is for kicks, he’s doing it to try and prevent himself from becoming a true monster.
The ends don’t justify the means for Rumple or Regina. Rumple made himself into a monster. The fact that now after 300 years he’s like “wait, I don’t want to be all the way evil” does not earn sympathy from me. And he is still doing evil things to prevent himself from turning all the way evil! That is counter intuitive.
There is one red spot on his heart which is clearly his love for Belle
The assumption being made is that Rumple’s love for Belle is the source of the last bit of good. That is an assumption, not a fact.
Disagree. I think Rumple is actually going to lose his Dark One powers, and Emma is going to be the new Dark One and the next Big Bad.
I like both theories. If Emma is the new Dark One does that automatically make Lily the new Savior? Is the Savior the counterbalance to the Dark One?
I like the idea of Rumple being the Big Bad because he knows so much about everyone in Storybrooke. He knows everyone’s secrets. Everyone’s buttons. Rumple completely off the leash would be extremely ‘world-altering’.
