ParticipantBeats me. Maybe because Ruby was 😀

ParticipantSo that means Regina orchestrated the whole thing — car break down so David would help, interjection of melted ice cream so David would take her home, fake not already in place so David would stay for dinner — Regina, such a cunning witch; David — clueless and naive.

ParticipantOk, so spent a little time looking at screencaps of Mr. Gold’s shop — fascinating. I am not familar with every fairytale or even every Disney movie, etc. but here are some more things I noticed…
- behind Henry, as he faces Mr. Gold, in the front window, is Gepetto’s accordion, like the one in the Disney version.
bicycles from the ceiling, again Wizard of Oz
canoe/boat hanging upside dwon from ceiling — SW’s?
birdcage hanging from ceiling — reminded me of HCA’s FT “The Nightingale”
There are small shelves held up by branches of wood all around the room and on them are retro robots and space rockets/toys, not sure what those mean, but out of place.
Mickey Mouse telephone down low in cabinet (seen in scene with Regina)
Tried to get a good look at Regina’s necklace, strange. Almost looks like a dreamcatcher.
Again genie lamp on counter.
Silverware set reminded me of Beauty and the Beast. Also, as Mr. Gold puts away the football there is a golden lyre up to the right on a shelf just made me think of Greek mythology.
There are lots of globes, old paintings, candles, clocks, and ships around the store. And there must be bells somewhere since Henry was trying them. When August comes in the back door, I found Jefferson’s hat box on the top shelf right.
There is a cuckoo clock at the top of the shelves on the left side when he enters, you can see a better shot later, but this is also Pinnochio. Geppetto’s shop was full of cuckoo clocks in the Disney version.
There is the magnifying glass used to see Jiminy in the pilot episode.
There is a statue of a girl in a flower that remind’s me of HCA’s “Thumbelina”, especially if you check out some of the images on google.
Above the oil cans and August’s head on a top shelf you will see a statue of Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage complete with horses.
And the the last noticeable I caught was a red shoe shine kit. This really stuck out to me on the shelf, but for the life of me I can’t figure what it might refer to. Any ideas? That’s it for me. Have been wanting some good shots of Gold’s shop. Didn’t see the puppets of Gepetto’s parents anywhere though, or the windmill. So he either sold a few things or has rearranged 😀
Also, in MM apartment there is a ceramic bluebird, looks like canister lid in front of the punchbowl, Only found that on one screenshot. And a ceramic deer at the punchbowl scene as well… can we say Bambi?

ParticipantI’m a Dearie
Although I will say, I like Ruby/Red a lot and wish they could use her more; and until last week’s episode, August ranked very high. I will say the BF went up on my list when she hadn’t even been on the radar; but hands down — Rumpel is my favorite.

ParticipantSo this last episode, The Return had some things I saw — oil cans like the Tin Man had in the Wizard of Oz, The dagger, the donkey paperweight on the desk, the green tornado (also a shout out to Oz) The Futball from FTL to Mr. Gold’s shop. There are a couple of retro Robot toys placed up high in a few screenshots, not sure what they represent; and a Mickey Mouse down load in the cabinet.

Participantdimwitted is a great word for David, I don’t care how nice he is trying to be. At some point he needs to wake up and smell the coffee, so to speak, or maybe for him it would be the witches’ brew.
Loved the Pinnochio peek. That was just awesome. I am so happy these directors and producers have found a way to bring something like that to us in a TV show. Sounded like to me that Henry was saying there was saying the end of the Pinnochio story was left out.
- Henry says, “Everyone knows how Pinnochio ends.”
Emma says, Maybe that’s why it’s left out”
Henry — “or there’s more to it.”As for Mr. Gold, getting Henry for Emma is not on his agenda… Finding Bae is his agenda and keeping Regina in her place where he is concerned. He definitely knows how to pick his battles. Couldn’t agree more.
Although I did like steliokontos1 comment that at some point Emma has to be the savior that has brought her to SB, and she will need to do that without Mr. Gold’s tactics.
Looking at the season ending promo, I would say Emma is going to have to figure it out and grow into that place, because she has no idea about FTL, magic, the curse, or what she is doing. This place (SB) although it emulates our world, doesn’t quite work the same. Or maybe it does if you go where someone has a power to pull all the strings… 🙂 Ha ha ha, pull all the strings…. Pinnochio…
I am finally excited to hear about Pinnochio.

ParticipantOh, the tree/wardrobe they put Emma into in the pilot doesn’t disappear, remember? They go over to look inside after Charming locks her in and she is not there. So she is transferred somewhere else. The tree itself doesn’t disappear, only Emma 😀
