Overall 10/10
That was good. I am happy. I am satisfied.
It’s been a true roller coaster ride watching all the way from season 4 til now on a weekly(season) basis, but after all I’m glad I stayed and watched til the end with all of you.The season, the show is done for me. It’s too early to tell how I feel about the reboot with all the up and downs we had since season 5, but all I can say is that I’m happy I was able to share my up and downs with all of you and I can say I can move on now. I am quite happy with how things ended.
Alright so now back to criticism lol.
The good:
It’s over folks (at least for now) and we got a descent ending, satisfying ending and that’s all I can say. The ending made me feel that same magic I felt when my old roommate first introduced me to the series, too many good things to put into words.I have yet to read everyone else’s reviews before mine, but it was intentional as I didn’t want to be biased with my own.
The bad:
CGI was terrible, but could have been the quality of my file so I dunno.Last words:
Big shout out to the music department, the music was right on point. It gave that original magic back to the show. Especially when B&B song played, loved it.EDIT | After reading everyone else’s reviews…..
OUAT is a show that is best enjoyed with a few glasses of wine! Or binge-watched in Netflix lol.
[adrotate group="5"]SkylerParticipantEmma: “Well you see Neil, our parents felt I needed the best chance going into the final battle, and they felt I could only do that with my true love, your brother-in-law Hook, next to me. And rather than trust in their and my abilities, or feel that you needed them more… When faced with a choice between me having them next to me / figuring out a way to find Hook later / raising you, OR me having Hook next to me / them going into a permanent cursed-sleep from which they could never be awoken / abandoning you. Well, they picked the latter. They felt guilty. Oh, not about you, about abandoning me. The first time around that is. Mom didn’t even seem conflicted about it. Didn’t mention you at all. I only remember you the next day when Cinderella called and said that mom and dad forgot to pick you up from day-care *again*. So, yep, they picked me and Hook, over themselves and you. Our parents were such heroes.
Oh Yeah Neal let me not forget that I could have chosen to ignore my mom’s plan and used the pixie dust to wake up mom and dad but I thought well I haven’t seen Hook in like two whole days and I must see him now or I just won’t survive so I decided to use the dust to get him back instead of waking up mom and dad. I am such a wonderful daughter and loving sister.
LOL! You two just made my day with this
SkylerParticipantHonestly at this point I don’t want Tiger Lily to appear again or have any significance in the story. Trying to explain her story is just going to turn into another Aladdin/Jasmine/Jafar storyline. I rather have Blue than Tiger Lily.
SkylerParticipantWhy are there people who still like this show? I’m seriously asking this show is objectively awful.
I say because a lot of us have invested a lot of time (years) in this show and we’ve grown to love it along with the cast. It’s just unfortunate how the plot keeps going to hell as the seasons progress, especially because the show had so much promise and such talented cast.
At this point after spending so many years on it, you might as well just finish it off you know?
April 17, 2017 at 1:46 am in reply to: 6×17–"Awake" What Were Your Favorite/Least Favorite Moments? #336288SkylerParticipantWow that was so bad 4/10.
Liked:
– The black fairy, she’s evil, she’s twisted and she’s supposedly gonna bring it down to all of you Storybrooke suckers. I like her so far. I just wish they could give her more screen time to develop her story instead of wasting it so much on unnecessary useless shit. Did they really have to bring Neverland back? They should have sent them to Boston or something instead.
– Regina’s flashback scenes. Loved her lines and it was good to see her old self back. I’m still secretly wishing Regina is gonna snap in one of these episodes and say “Booya guys I’m still the evil queen” and go back to being evil.
-Gideon/Black Fairy/Rumple dynamic. Seems promising, good chemistry between the actors.
Mixed:
– Tiger Lily… I dont know… she felt like she was too conveniently placed in the story. I would rather have Blue taking that screen time, she’s more significant to the storyline than wtv they can make of Tiger Lily in 4 episodes.
– So what exactly happened to Black Beard? Oh yeah nobody cares, leave him to raise the lost boys with Tiger Lily I guess. After all didn’t Snow said back in S3 that all they wanted was a family and all?
Disliked:
– Did Emma raid Blue’s closet or the convent? Cause she seemed like she stole one of the nuns outfits. It’s just not an “Emma”outfit ahhhhhh.
– Are these episodes even making it through the editing room? Is there anyone even directing these scenes? I felt like the scenes had no sequence whatsover, everything was so messy and all over the place.
– True Love’s touch? Really? Now we have that…. All it took to break Snow’s curse was for Charming to touch her with true love touch… hmm OK whatever.
– Snow/Charming flashback. I was totally lost on what was going on after the flashback began. I had to rewind it cause I thought I skipped something, only to find that nope, that was the real thing. Bad bad writing.
– The flower that reunites true loves, magical portal door, c’mon…
– Emma/Hook. Jeez please, just stop wasting so much time with these two already! Not buying it!
– Jennifer Morrison acting is not in the same league as Robert Carlyle, Lana Parilla, Ginnifer Goodwin, Rebecca Madder and Jaime Murray’s. You cannot have excellent actors and actresses in a show and not use them. Man that is a freaking crime! lol
Argh…. I was seriously hoping this episode was gonna be so much better than last week’s…. I’m totally lowering my expectations of next week’s one.
SkylerParticipantDid they ever explain where/when/how Rumple lost his ability to see the future?
SkylerParticipantCould it be that it wasn’t the blue fairy then that gave Bae the magic bean? Or what if the seer that told Rumple about the prophecy was the black fairy too?
If the black fairy was able to plan so far ahead she must have known that Rumple would let Bae fall through the portal and would lead to him casting the curse years later to find him.
If we bring Pan into the story, maybe that is why he took Bae to Neverland. Maybe he tried to sabotage the black fairy’s plan, which could explain why he knew about Henry?
Just a few thoughts…..
April 10, 2017 at 7:07 pm in reply to: 6×16 "Mother's Little Helper"–Favorite and Least Favorite Moments #335802SkylerParticipantDefinitely an improvement over last week’s episode, could have used better screen time organization though.
Overall 7.5/10
Liked:
– Finally something makes sense! The black fairy having Gideon’s heart. I’m totally OK with that.
– Rumple standing up for his family. You go Rumple!
– The black fairy. Jaime Murray did a great job. Her “my son” and twisted voice tones gave her a Cora-ish vibe. I still miss Cora.
– Giles acting. Quality acting, enjoyed very much. Also having Robert Carlyle back definitely helped the episode feel more solid.
-Issac, nice comic relief. Also enjoyed seeing the nurse and mop man back. That mop man cracks me up every time.
Mixed:
– The dark fairy realm. As many pointed out, it didn’t give me the creepy vibes and using the dwarf mines set seemed like a lazy approach. They could have gone with pitch dark room with red candles and black hooded people or something to give it a “darker” feel, but oh well at least they didn’t re-use Storybrooke with the lights off or something.
-Belle. Oh jeez…stand up for your family ala Snow.
– So the black fairy created the dark curse… hmm ok I could go with it but I am afraid they are just gonna rush that plot seeming that there’s only a few episodes left.
– Next week’s preview. Another time jump? c’mon, we had enough of those.
Dislike:
– Another magic bean? I guess Rumple didn’t look as hard as he said for them back in S1.
– Split storylines. Overall the different plot lines felt too messy, rushed and crowded. The Neverland-Hook-Blackbeard scenes weren’t that interesting, I hope they don’t spend too much time on them next week. Anyhow, they should have done Regina/Henry or Neverland/Hook not both.
– Emma. Agree with PriceOfMagic, Emma keeps getting more unlikeable as the story progresses. I also can’t seem to like her recent outfit+makeup choices, not very fitting for her current “personality”, there’s just something about it that feels off to me.
April 4, 2017 at 1:46 am in reply to: 6 X 15 – A WONDEROUS PLACE – What was your favorite and least favorite moments #335558SkylerParticipantGENERAL: This episode needed less Jasmine/Jafar/Aladdin nonsense and more drunk Snow making random bets with Vikings. WOW, guys. What *was* this? It’s not morally bad like some others and I’m not even all that bothered by the predictable CS storyline resolution; but it’s just BAD. Like poorly written. Ooof. RATING: 5/10 LIKED –Aesop’s Tables LOL! –Unlike like 95% of Emma’s outfits this year, I actually like her red plaid jacket. –“They are supposedly artisinal. Which I think means STRONG.” LOL, drunk fun loving Snow is the best. –“Why is this rug flying!” “It’s a carpet. A magic carpet.” “It’s clearly a rug.” –“Do you ever not tattle?” LOL –“Son of a fish!” MIXED –“I was hoping I wouldn’t have to tell you.” Does Emma mean she didn’t want to tell Charming, full stop, but her conscious got the better of her? Or does Emma mean that she was hoping Hook would go and tell Charming? –Llamas in the desert had me rolling off the couch. Talk about a double take! –Where exactly is Hangman’s Island in relation to the EF? Why are Ariel and Eric there and not in his, y’know, kingdom? It was probably destroyed but why aren’t they rebuilding? –Did I miss something? How did Jafar know about Eric and Ariel, enough to fool Ariel at least? –How did Jafar’s lamp get to Ariel’s cabin from Wonderland? How did Jafar break his genie curse?! –I get that Emma would be sad but why isn’t she even more angry? Even a little bit? Hook LEFT. DISLIKED –Kraken’s Blood to make a portal. Oh please. End this incessant need to create new plot devices! –“Didn’t you hear the Captain. We have no Kraken’s Blood!” Really, that line tho. –“Come on, Princess. How many times are you go to avoid kissing me?” Dude, back off. If she doesn’t want to kiss you, then she doesn’t have to kiss you. If she wants to, she will. If she’s torn over if she does or not, give her SPACE. This is not a difficult concept. –The parallels being drawn between Jasmine and Hook and how they both feel guilty over their crimes so there they don’t deserve love. Okay, but…Jasmine refused to marry a bad guy; Hook killed people. There’s a very clear difference here. –Wasn’t it a bracelet that let Ariel walk? Not a necklace? Continuity alert! –Wow the CGI of the flight over Agrabah coupled with the super cheesy dialogue was baaaaaad. Like something you see at 3am in a C-level movie on SyFy. –Pretty sure that’s not actually Jafar’s lamp/bottle from Wonderland! –So the city is inside the never before seen ring and Jasmine used a vial of red powder to turn Jafar into a screaming staff? I just want to make sure we’re all on the same page here cause WOWZA. –A shellphone. Get away from me, show. –Tears of a Savior that can interrupt the shellphone! STOP THIS. STOP IT RIGHT NOW.
I am not even gonna bother writing my likes/dislikes because you covered them all to the letter.
Only thing to add is, if this is the last time we see Jafar I am going to flip lol
March 28, 2017 at 12:05 am in reply to: 6×14 “Page 23” – – What was your favorite and least favorite moments #335102SkylerParticipantOverall 6/10. Honestly, I was disappointed.
Liked:
– Even if I was sad to see the EQ go, the resolution of her storyline was well handled, the whole I hate myself/mirror scene was well played . Although I do agree with everyone before me, this could have been handled back in S5.
– The EQ sassy lines and her chemistry with Wish Robin.
Mixed:
– Gideon sending Hook in the ship. Hmm OK I hope the reason behind it will actually move the plot forward.
– Resolution of Wish Robin. I guess… wasn’t so bad, for a second I thought he was gonna turn out to be Wish Rumple when he mentioned New York.
-Henry. I don’t know how I feel yet about how they are handling his storyline yet.
Dislike:
– Tinkerbell wasted screen time. Her importance on the storyline she was placed was a bit pointless. She could have been used in the Black Fairy plot instead.
– The sheers. Don’t even get me started.
– The dreamcatcher. How, what, why? I thought a magic wielder had to pass them over someone somehow to extract their memories (Pongo anyone?). Not sure how Hook managed to do it himself with no magic.
– Hook+ Emma upcoming drama. I’m probably minority here about this, but I just don’t buy their relationship. I don’t see the chemistry between the actors and a lot of the scenes feel forced between them to me. I like Hook and Emma as standalone characters, but not together.
– Emma’s reaction after finding out Hook and the dreamcatcher. Her reactions/thoughts felt too selfish for a “hero” and “saviour”. Maybe care a little about your dad first?
– Plot splitting and screen time. I’m starting to get a bit annoyed about how we have to wait for 2 weeks to get the “actual” plot moving forward.
