    They…actually address Baelfire.

Isaac: I just need one last detail. Your son, Baelfire…
Rumple: Don’t toy with me, scribe! Magic can’t bring back the dead.

Riiiiiight. Sure. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Because, what about Anastasia, Philip, the BF, David, Zelena, Maleficent, and even Rumple? Oh right, magic actually can bring back the dead, unless your name is Baelfire. *heads desk*

As keeper of the timeline, I strongly believe that this is many years after Daniel’s death, possibly even after Leo’s death (I’m going to have to scan the evidence closely on that). Anyway, the costumes and so on suggest a later Evil Queen, not young Regina.

I strongly agree. Regina wasn’t openly the Evil Queen until AFTER she had the genie murder Leopold, and in this episode she was wearing black and crushing people’s hearts, meaning she wasn’t hiding her dark magic anymore. Regina wasn’t openly dark until after she’d deposed Leo, framed Snow for his murder, and stolen the crown. Plus, Cora said the common people wanted Snow White to be their queen, which meant that Leo was no longer king. As Leo’s heir, Snow was next in line to the throne, not Regina, who was just a queen dowager, not to mention guilty of regicide and treason. The people recognized Snow as the rightful ruler of Leo’s kingdom after his death, not Regina, and Cora knew that, which is why she was so anxious for Regina to have a baby to secure her (illegitimate) claim to the throne. Only a legitimate child of King Leo could become the next king or queen after his death, and as his only living child, only Snow (and her children after her) have that birthright.

    x

Neal: “I don’t know how [the swan necklace] survived.”

Emma: “I can’t believed [the dream-catcher] survived all this time.”

Belle knows. They were born of true love. x

Quick! Someone make a GIF of the survival between the dream catcher and the swan necklace parallel.

I agree. Rumple can’t get over this. No amount of love from Belle will help. There is no happiness for him.

    Your Papa’s here. x

No parent ever expects to outlive his or her child, no matter if he is a boy or a man. There is no way to mend a wound like that, even if time can lessen it, to a degree. Even if Rumple and Bell were to marry and have another child, Rumple’s heart would always ache for his BAEby. The death of his son makes Rumple’s sacrifice seem somewhat more in vain. Rumple gave up his life so that Bae could have a second chance at happiness, just not with him. Yet, that second chance just became like vapor. Rumple isn’t going to be able to live with himself, you’re right.

Reblogging for reasons. We were right about Rumple, the man, not surviving post-Baelfire.

I almost hope we DON’T see Anastasia–not with A&E’s poor track record. Just look at the number they did on Will Scarlet. They should have left Wonderland well enough alone.

So we were right! Henry has the power to rewrite the book, making him a contender to be the next author! Rumple has light magic! “Good deeds have their own reward. No price” So yeah, Rumple is basically the opposite of the Dark One; he is the Light One and an ogre slayer. I guess Henry is the stand-in for young Baelfire, what with Rumple (unknowingly it seems) saving his own grandson, instead of his son. Does that mean Rumple has no memory of his past life since he doesn’t seem to recognize Henry?

Because who’s to say, if she did take him back, that he wouldn’t pull the same stunts next season? Trust is shattered. Rumple can say all he wants that he can change — but can he really?

In the case of Rumple, I agree that so long as he’s the dark one, he’s prone to relapse. I think the only way he could ever get clean would be to have his dark one curse undone and then for him to leave town, somewhere away from magic and all the crazy that is SB. The lure the dark magic is always going to be there for him so long as he lives in a town full of magic. He’d have to go totally cold turkey from magic to have any chance of ever “getting clean” from his addition. And even then, Belle might forgive him out of the goodness of her heart insofar as she doesn’t hold a grudge against him for the rest of her life, but she  may never really trust him again, let alone re-enter into any sort of romance with him. I could see them making their peace, and Rumple wishing her happiness, even if it’s not with him. Yet, come to think of it, it seems we actually saw Rumple do this when he returned Belle’s heart and acknowledged Will would be the one to protect it from then on, but then Rumple turned right around and had the author write an AU. Belle will be Rumpe’s wife and cheerleader again in the AU, presumably against her will, so we’ll see how Belle reacts to that one when has her say again about the relationship.

I tend to agree with you, but the fact that the Dragon was mentioned this season and August will be in the Finale gives me a little hope.

Yeah, maybe. But unless the twist is that Greg shows up in SB seeking revenge, having somehow survived his shadow-ripping like the Blue Fairy did, then I think that idea is over since the “home office” just turned out to be Peter Pan’s trick to lure in Tamara and Greg.
