And can we be honest…I cannot be the only SwanFire/Neal Fan in this thread who cheered at seeing Ursula toss Hook into the ocean with sass…. XD

Ursula is a goddess divine. She can do what she wants after whatever soul-crushing thing he did to her.

It hurts seeing Emilie say that, having read those re-written scenes that could have been perfect with Belle and Neal.

Not to mention that the last time Belle and Neal had any sort of substantial interaction lead to his death. That must’ve majorly stunk from Emilie’s perspective.

This episode had more cons than it did pros….and I just can’t right now with it…I just can’t.

For @WickedRegal not to love a Regina/Mal episode, I know something must be off with the writing.

    Things I liked:
    – Regina’s snark: “The Charming softball team and their pirate mascot’
    – Seeing August again (even if only briefly)
-FINALLY getting more of Mal’s story. I’d been waiting for that ever since S1 E2. (Too bad it was so inconsistent with what Aurora said in 2×1).
    – The devious grin on Colin’s face when “Hook” had gotten the dagger. He’s good at looking sly.

    Things I could’ve done without:
    – Inconsistencies left, right and center! Timeline wobbliness.
    – Weird character motivation. Just why would Mal not want revenge on Regina for locking her up as a dragon for 28 years? Why would Emma just go along with Regina kidnapping Pinocchio? Why would Rumple not suspect Regina is spying? Why would Belle trust “Hook” with the dagger? Has Belle learned nothing? Remember the last time anyone ever got hold of Rumple’s dagger? It ended in near disaster.
    – Clunky writing. ‘Because we’re villains and that’s what villains do!’ (paraphrase) Breaks shot glass! “Am I bad enough now?”
    – Rumple impersonating Hook to dupe Belle. That is just all sorts of wrong.
    – Belle falling for Rumple’s ploy, and for her blindly trusting “Hook.”

Is kidnapping a child evil? Even if it’s being done for the greater good? Or, is it a selfish act for Regina, being done in part for Her own greater good and happy ending. Why is it ok for Regina to take Gepetto’s happiness (Pinocchio)? I get it that the Charmings asked her to infiltrate the villains. But how much is too much? Where’s the line between a noble act of infiltrating the villains and actually becoming one again?

Well, Emma, the town sheriff, didn’t do much to stop Regina, a former child abductor (e.g. Owen, Hansel, and Gretel), from taking Pinocchio. I guess that is meant to show Emma’s “greatest potential for darkness.” The writers want us to call into question what makes a hero and what makes a villain. So, I guess it’s about degrees of separation rather than a clear cut dividing line. Still, I find it hard to believe that Snow and Charming’s secret is as bad as Rumple and Regina killing mass amounts of people in the past.

Cora being back this close to the end of season is honestly starting to make me think that Team Villains do win and get their happy endings.

Maybe this is the “final battle” Rumple mentioned in the pilot. And Rumple and the QoD did talk about starting a war in S4E14 “Enter the Dragon.”

I see no way for Belle and Rumple to reconcile romantically, unless Rumple actually manages to succeed in getting the Author to rewrite his story. But even that would create a whole slew of moral issues, like Rumple forcing the Author to do something by changing the odds for the villains to win, thereby making Belle be his again. But two wrongs don’t make a right. Rumple can’t just “fix” it so that he gets his happiness by taking away Belle’s free will, since love not freely given isn’t real.

As things stand, there is no trust there, on either end, and there can be no trust. Rumple has continuously lied to her and manipulated her. Belle has sought to control him with the dagger, more than once, knowing he’d been Zelena’s prisoner. They are at an impasse, and Belle doesn’t even know she’s been duped by Rumple, again and again! That isn’t healthy on any level. Rumple is doing what he does best, being manipulating, conniving but this time it’s being done against someone he supposedly loves more than anyone…except for magic, his true mistress.

The best part of that sneak peek is Regina’s line about the Charming softball teaming and their pirate mascot. Regina is a voice for the audience. Because really, how sadly true it is.

Sharing here because I know you all get it.  It’s about this answer given by A&E.
Bringing back Bae not being the quest of Rumple re-writing his own happy ending is absolutely the most absurd thing I’ve ever read about this show. We know Bae is no longer with us, but that’s not the point. The point is that Rumple is seeking to do the impossible and give the villains their happy endings, and Rumple’s happy ending was Bae.

Now for obvious reasons I know this isn’t possible for practical reasons like ABC won’t stand for it and MRJ isn’t available. But I wish A&E wouldn’t continue to pretend like there is some story-driven reason why Rumple couldn’t do the seemingly impossible and bring back his boy if he wanted. Forget blood magic and resurrection for a moment. We’re talking about Rumple’s quest of re-writing the entire story here so that he gets his happy ending. Who did Rumple declare to be his happy ending? Baelfire.

Rumple’s quest seems to be to ensure he gets his own happy ending, and they’re asking me to believe that Rumple wouldn’t do his utmost to secure Bae’s return (at whatever age I might add). They’re telling me to believe Rumple wouldn’t move heaven and earth to get his boy back if he could rewrite his story. Sorry. Not buying it. Not buying it one bit.
