I have a feeling that King George is Regina’s step-father (who married Cora, a miller’s daughter, for her supposed ability to turn straw into Gold in the Rumpelstiltskin fairytale). I think Cora then had an affair with her valet/servant, Regina’s father, Henry Sr. King George is obsessed with gold, so much so that he wanted to make his son marry for wealth promised by King Midas. In the Rumpel fairytale, the king who marries the miller’s daughter is also obsessed with gold.

Also, I have a thought that perhaps King Midas will be turned to gold by accident.

Some of the things I want to know are what happened to Baelfire and who Henry’s dad is. I’d also like to know if Emma or Regina will discover Rumpel’s knife. Is there going to be a stand-off between Emma and Regina over Henry? The last time Henry nearly died. I’m looking forward to Emma being reunited to her parents, Snow and Charming, and introducing them to their grandson, Henry. Finally, what’s going to happen now that magic has come to SB?

I don’t think Regina instructed Jefferson to release Belle. Jefferson is acting against Regina now. I don’t think it’s just a rouse that the writers are trying to pull. There is real and existing animosity between Regina and Jefferson for the time she left him stranded in Wonderland and for the time she refused to reunite him with Grace.

I think it’s likely that he knew about Belle from something that happened which the audience hasn’t seen yet. Jefferson is insane (aka the Mad Hatter). Perhaps Jefferson came back from Wonderland and was held captive in the same jail as Belle in FTL. The other more likely scenerio is that Jefferson was kept in the hospital basement when he first came to SB before Regina put him under house arrest for 28 years. That would explain how Jefferson knows about Belle.

The question of what Snow White’s engagement ring does is it leads the owner to true love. We saw in the season 1 finale that Rumpel had enchanted the ring so that it glows brightly when Prince Charming is close to his true love, Snow White. Now that magic has come to SB, I think that the ring is once more enchanted to lead the owner to true love.

Why did Rumpel use true love to bring magic to SB? Is it to locate Baelfire or is it for some other goal?

Favorite moments from the finale: Emma finally believes in magic! Emma says, “I love you, Henry,” kisses him on the forehead, and the curse breaks. Rumple and Belle declare their love for each other. David and MM remember they’re PC and SW in SB. Regina gets beaten up by Emma.

Least favorite moment from the finale: Regina’s smirk at the finale, even though I do like the twist.

My guess is that Kathryn and Frederick are minor characters and didn’t carry enough weight to play an active role in the intense build-up to the finale. We’ll probably see them in season 2. Also, I think Kathryn is simply living her life in SB. Perhaps she’s still recovering in the hospital.

    1) Perhaps both Jefferson and Belle were imprisoned in the same jail in FTL before the dark curse brought everyone to SB. Another possibility is Jefferson was kept in the SB hospital basement right after coming to SB and before Regina put him under house arrest for 28 years.
    2) I think that Belle will be quite upset with Rumpel for using magic, since she wanted him to voluntarily give it up by kissing her in episode 1×12. If Rumpel becomes the Dark One again, I think we’ll see the tension if Belle tries to kiss him and he backs off again. He’s still looking for Baelfire.
    3) I think that Rumpel will pay a price, and that price may be losing Belle again.
    4) I think everyone, except for the fairies, will get their magic back. We already know Emma has magic and created a magic hat for Jefferson (1×17). We saw that his older hat worked when Regina gave it a little magic from her ring in 1×21. Now that there is magic in SB (1×22), it should work properly. Also, I think Regina will get her magic, because we saw her smirk when the cloud came over SB. Finally, we don’t know if Cora is still alive or whether she’s even in SB. If she is alive, I’m guessing she’s imprisoned in the basement. I don’t think the fairies have magic now, because Rumpel has a vendetta against the Blue Fairy for taking away Baelfire. The source of magic in SB is not fairy dust but true love potion, so perhaps the fairies lack magic here.
    5) I don’t think the SB citizens will return to FTL until at least the end of season 2. I think the majority of season 2 will explore how magic has surprising consequences in SB itself.
    6) I’m thinking that the big reason Rumpel wants magic is to locate Baelfire.
    7) I think that dynamic between Snow, Charming, and Emma will be more like friends, the way that adult children often befriend their parents. Emma is an adult after all, and her parents missed out on knowing her as a school-age child.

This is a totally off-the-wall theory, but I wonder if Rumpelstiltksin is trying to bring back Baelfire from the afterlife. In episode 16, we heard him say that whoever can bottle true love can do anything. Even though in FTL there are certain rules for magic, which we’ve heard both the genie and Rumpel repeat, this could be a total game-changer in that regard too. The magic created from true love is the most powerful of all. What if Rumpelstiltskin could bring back people to life, make people fall in love, and wish for more wishes? 😮

We saw August turn into a giant man-size puppet. Since Emma broke the curse and Mr. Gold brought magic to SB, I’m really hoping that August will be around as a normal man next season and that we don’t just see Pinocchio in FTL flash-backs. Also, I’d love for Emma and August’s relationship to develop more, either as brother-sisterly love or a deep friendship.
