Participant@ mia: I agree. I think Jefferson meant he felt liked he was trapped in his house….not that he actually was under house arrest.

I agree. Fortunately, we're going to see Jefferson again!.

ParticipantI think that was just Regina being creepy. I don’t think there was anything more to it than that.

ParticipantYou’re probably right. I also think August was supposed to carry back MM to the police station on his motorcycle (though that doesn’t explain how she got there so fast, because the clock had already struck 8). Hopefully, they’ll explain how she got back so fast next week.

ParticipantHere’s a screen shot of some of the doors. Anyone else have some close-ups?

ParticipantThe reappearance of the well seems to have a lot of significance. We saw a well in ep. 4, 13, 15, and now 17. Have we seen it anywhere else?Maybe the wells are all fed by water from Lake Gnostos. I’m reminded of the wishing well from the Disney version of Snow White. Also, in Celtic and German traditions, water was thought to have healing properties. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wishing_well

ParticipantBut the credits for ep. 18 and 17 list two different actresses for each role. Cora will be played by Barbara Hershey and the Queen of Hearts was played by Jennifer Koening. That means Cora, Regina’s mom, is not the QoH. If the producers had wanted to make Cora the QoH, all they’d have to do is hire one actress (Barbara Hershey) and cover her face until the big reveal. It’s much more affordable to hire one actress to play two parts than to hire two different actresses to play one part. The reason they kept the QoH face covered is for an unrelated reason such as disfigurement.
Two different characters, two different actresses.
1. The Queen of Hearts is played by Jennifer Koenig
2. Cora, Regina’s mother, is played by Barbara Hershey."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

ParticipantIt seemed like Emma actually succeeded in making a magic hat that transported Jefferson out of SB. Since Mr. Gold said Emma is more powerful that she knows to her face and told Regina Emma’s more resourceful than expected, I’m thinking he wants Emma to realize her full potential magically. But, because he’s so subtle, he won’t spell it out for Emma but will let her come to it on her own. Perhaps she has to be the one to figure it out by seeing (as August said to Henry) for the magic to work. It was Mr. Gold who encouraged her to become sheriff in the first place. Also, he planted a key in MM’s cell, which means he must’ve known Emma would go after her, encounter Jefferson, and the whole incident with that hat would trigger Emma’s belief in magic. I’m left wondering if it’s really Mr. Gold’s intention to rid the world of magic or to restore magic. I’m not sure why Mr. Gold would encourage Emma on the one hand, but then try to undermine her. I think Mr. Gold wants Emma not just to have power as a sheriff, but for her to realize her true identity and potential for magic. Not only were we left wondering if Jefferson really did get transported out of SB via a magical hat, but we’re also left wondering how on earth MM managed to return to her jail cell just as the tower clock struck 8, so as to tick off Regina. How could MM have been gone from outside Jefferson’s house as clock first struck 8 and then appear in the jail cell just in time? Magic?
