The Lost Girl had found her way home. But as happy as Emma is to be home with her son and parents, for a moment her expression drops as she is looking for that one missing person: Killian. Giving her space with her family, he is patiently waiting outside the diner for her. Although she begins their conversation casually, her purpose becomes quite evident. Amazed that they are now in Henry’s storybook, she wonders if everything else remains the same. Killian assures her that it is, because if he’d remembered kissing Emma, he would have gone after her. He says this with a sly smile but what he is telling her is touching – that no matter when or where, meeting and kissing Emma would change his life just as he revealed in the Echo Cave. He was always destined to fall in love with her. Emma then steers the conversation towards what we all have been longing to know. Thanking him for coming back for her in New York, she asks how he was able to get to her. When Killian reveals that he traded the Jolly Roger for a magic bean, her look of amazement is beautiful. True love was indeed worth more to him than a few planks of wood and a sail. Emma knows what this means. Killian gave up his home to bring her back to hers.

ParticipantNot sure if this has already been posted here, but I really enjoyed it- full of CS goodness 🙂
I wanted to thank you, Killian.
After recent interviews where writers confirmed Colin O’Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison “just went for it” in that scene, it provided further validation that these actors not only know exactly what they’re doing, but they both have such a profound understanding of their characters that their meticulous acting choices say even more than their words. The fragmented moments where there are pauses or particular ways in which they’re searching the other’s expression says a prodigious amount about what they’re trying to tell one another. In this scene especially, both the words and expressions beautifully showcase just how much these two care for one another.
Yes, Emma’s called Hook by his real name before, but each of those were immensely different than this most recent time for numerous reasons. In the beginning it was because of Henry then the scenes following were instinctual, and the one other time that meant a great deal was when he was drowning, but he didn’t hear it.
This time, Emma intends for him to hear it. She didn’t even call him Killian back at the Enchanted Forest and while Hook’s somehow easier to say, and she’s more used to it, she’s making sure he knows she sees him as a hero. The playful and sincere change in Morrison’s tone and facial expression are what validate that she needs him to hear his name coming out of her mouth — she means every single word. It’s different this time, and she sees him as the man whose love for her has encouraged him to become. She wants him to understand that she’s finally accepted the feelings she’s been fighting to ignore since I personally believe back in Neverland after their first kiss — she’s fought him off for so long, thanked him a few times, but this time she needs him to know that she means it from the very depths of her soul and she’s trying to articulate it in the best way she can.
And though the way she says his name this time is much different than the times before, the camera pans to Killian’s reaction because directors wanted this to be seen. The gratitude and heart in Morrison’s voice is meant to be heard while O’Donoghue’s expression is meant to show that Killian realizes just how special this moment is. This is Killian finally hearing and knowing that she’s not just starting to see him as a man of honor, but that she officially does. This look in O’Donoghue’s eyes along with the change in his expression confirm that of all the times his name has come from his lady’s lips, this one means the most — it feels and sounds most passionately organic. Of all the times she’s called him by his first name, none have come out like this, and he realizes just how much Emma actually values him.
This very moment, the pause and steady eye contact is Emma making sure he knows just how much she means it. She wants him to take this in and understand that she acknowledges that none of this could’ve been possible without him. She wants him to see that she knows he’s a great man. After this moment, things get a little more whimsical again. Just as Killian always strives to inspire Emma to see herself the way he sees her, in this scene Emma is doing the same. You could see it from the amount of heart that’s reflected in Morrison’s eyes because as she’s always stated, Emma finally has someone who elevates her and in this moment, she’s giving him what he’s always given her — truth, strength, and affection.

ParticipantFar out- twitter is like the Once version of world war!
Just saw & must admit I totally agree with her on every point she makes (it’s Long, but well worth reading 🙂 )
You don’t like Hook? Fine, no one said you have to. I get he’s not for everyone, just like there are characters I like less than I like he and Emma and the Charmings.
But let’s get one thing straight — Emma has never come out and said “Hook, I don’t have feelings for you, please leave me alone” or “Hook, I don’t want you around, please leave.” — in fact she has welcomed his company, sought out his reassurance, missed his presence when he wasn’t around and told him THANK YOU on several occasions for the things he does for her. Sure, she’s told him she isn’t in the mood for bonding…and what did he do? Left her alone. He flirted with her after saving Charming (b/c if you knew anything about his character at all you’d know that he does that to deflect any sort of attention and/or praise b/c he isn’t used to it and doesn’t know how to react to it) and SHE kissed him…and kissed the HELL out of him. There was no forcing. Just two willing participants who have been drawn to and attracted to each other sexually and emotionally for quite some time. You think it made him happy to have to tell her about the depth of his feelings in the Echo Caves? Look at his freaking face, he’s mortified that he has to put her in that situation and he knows he’s going to be rejected but he does it anyway to save the man he thinks Emma wants to be with. But after he saw Emma with Neal and realized it wasn’t the happiest of reunions, he felt pretty confident about winning her heart. And yes, he did tell her he would win her heart, but he said he would do so the honest way (because he was reacting to her calling him a pirate) and that it will be because SHE chooses to be with him, otherwise he doesn’t want it. He’s never forced any kisses on her. He kissed her in NY b/c he thinks they’re true love and he thought their kiss would save her. It’s the EXACT same thing Charming did for Snow. I mean…identical. And he even apologized to her for it. He was trying to save her. This is a fairy tale story. That’s not assault, people. And if you think it is? Make sure you include Charming in that b/c again, same damn thing.
Is Hook perfect? Absolutely not. He’s flawed. Incredibly flawed. The matters of his heart don’t always come out right when he talks about them and sometimes he says them at completely inappropriate times but that’s because the guy wears his heart on his sleeve and the loss of love & fighting for love is his main motivation in life. He knows he and Emma have a connection, he knows she has feelings for him (and she DOES, it’s been confirmed on the show and by the writers dozens of times, just b/c you choose not to see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there). There is nothing wrong with him being persistent and showing her how much he loves her and how she can have the truly happy life she’s always wanted. And he does make her happy. She just needed proof, she needed a reason to let down her walls for him. And he gave that to her.
But let’s get a few facts right…
In S1 when Charming thought Snow didn’t love him (and before he found out about the memory loss and what his father did to her) — he said to Ruby “I don’t care if she doesn’t love me, I will find her and convince her that we belong together” — where is the big rape culture accusations for him?
People love to call Hook a “stalker” for watching Emma outside the diner for 10 seconds while she was at a dinner he was INVITED to — b/c the witch had literally just threatened her life and the life of those she loves. But, what about Snow in S1 who had an affair with a married man and after they broke up, showed up at the diner every morning to see said man when he’s getting coffee for he and his wife, and she also admitted to Emma that she knew when he leaves for and gets off of work, when he picks up his dry cleaning and what nights they order chinese take out. To which Emma straight up called her a stalker. WHERE ARE THE RAPE CULTURE ARGUMENTS AGAINST SNOW?
Or how about Rumple who killed his ex wife b/c she exercised her agency to leave a relationship that made her miserable? Was Milah the greatest person? Nope, she left her son. Did she deserve to be murdered in cold blood for that? I don’t care if Rumple killed her for leaving Bae, he still killed her for choosing to leave.
And then we get to Regina who took Graham’s heart and told him that from this point on he will do whatever she tells him to or she will kill him and then instructs her guards to bring him to her bed chamber immediately after saying so. He had to be dragged there. And then in Storybrooke when he exercised HIS agency to break away from the toxic relationship with her, she murdered him in cold blood. But I guess that’s okay b/c it’s Regina, am I right?
Look, I love ALL of these characters and I understand they’re flawed and make mistakes. I adore Rumple & Regina. But the difference here is, I would never single any of them out and project real life tragedies on to them b/c I’m not getting my way on a TV Show. — I’m from California. I have friends who lost people in that shooting that just happened. And to see you guys USE that as means to further your OUAT/Hook/CS hate agenda is just disgusting.I’m sure this will be reblogged to kingdom come with nasty remarks and I honestly don’t care b/c something needs to change. You have a problem with Hook? Fine. But hold the other characters to those same standards, otherwise your arguments are entirely invalid b/c it’s obvious your bias is clouding your judgement. This show is STILL filled with strong women. The love they’ve found only makes them stronger. Emma rescued herself in the finale, Killian was just there as background support. Regina beat the witch but Robin was just there to keep her heart safe. Just b/c they’re in love with men, doesn’t make their characters any less beautiful or strong or empowered. Even Josh said he loves working on a show where the men take a backseat to these strong amazing women.
Isn’t there enough hate in the world already without you guys twisting something that promotes love and forgiveness and hope and understanding into something nasty because it’s not playing out exactly like you want it to? Don’t you realize that by hounding the writers to change things b/c they aren’t going your way that you’re promoting the same type of culture you claim to hate? Imagine the difference you could make if you spent that energy on things that will actually make a difference in the world. And that’s all I have to say. It’s a shame we can’t all enjoy this lovely story together, it really is.

ParticipantEW: “And also led nicely to the end- the kiss between Hook and Emma, which I may have rewound multiple times…Tell me just about that kiss as well, it was a great one.”
Eddy: “Well for us we just, you know, we thought this was the culmination of two years of his wooing, and…those two actors just went for it on the set. You know it was really like-we just wrote that and they just kind of-you know..I think that’s just two years of character buildup there.”

Hook/Killy also took out tvfanatic’s Report card ‘Best character’
BEST CHARACTER: Captain Hook. The pirate turned out to be a hero in disguise. Killian not only stood by Emma’s side in Neverland while she fought to save her son, he even sacrificed his ship, the Jolly Roger to bring her back from New York City to save her family. Despite all the challenges and Emma’s snarky refusals, this bad boy never gave up hope and turned out to have a heart of gold
CS tied 1st as ‘Best couple’
BEST COUPLE: How can you pick one when the show has three such amazing couples? Snow and Charming now share one heart, Emma finally sees Hook’s devotion to her, and although Regina’s heart is broken with the return of Marian, we have hope that somehow she and Robin will end up together once again. We simply can’t choose a favorite so we’re calling it a three way tie.
CS took out ‘Best Kiss’
BEST KISS: Emma and Hook. When Emma finally kissed Hook after realizing he’d given up his ship for her and never said a word, we cheered. It was a long time coming and that makeout session was exactly what fans had been waiting to see all season. We hope to see plenty more of Captain Swan in Once Upon a Time 4.

ParticipantAs a side comment from Killian’s point of view~While he nursed his pervasive anger and grief over his shattered beliefs and losing Liam, he was most likely dumbstruck that an everyday tavern “rum and dice”flirtation with a frustrated wife would lead to a deep love. The man, when he loves something, certainly wraps his entire soul around it!
Yep & as A&E said, Killian may have been a selfish pirate, but he also had a code of honor he followed. S it makes perfect sense that he’d accept Milah’s request for his protection & help in escaping from Rumple (whom it is cannon fact, wasnt a good husband & by the looks he isnt off to a good start in making Belle a good husband either :/ ), his code of honor would have demanded it. There is no way he’d fight an unarmed man, he already felt that (I’m sure from being a Royal Navy man), if a man is unwilling to fight for what he wants, he doesnt deserve to have it. I’m sure he would have been attracted to Milah from the get go- for whatever reason & it is clear/cannon they grew to love each other, it’s also clear that once Killian loves someone, he’s ALL in- even if he hasn’t be introduced to his lover’s family (ie. he was ready & willing to give it all up to be a family with Bae, who is no blood relation of his, despite only laying eyes on him once in pub 10-15 odd years earlier).
Love how you worded that last line- “warps his entire soul around it” sums it up perfectly 🙂 -
