Yes, I wondered the same thing as well, as that would also work.
<2 – I don’t think the JR is good enough for a sacrifice and who else does he have that he loves, apart from Emma. And Rumple had always said it had to the be thing/person you love most. And after the event with Ariel and Eric he may have lost his love for the JR a little bit. 3 – if Hook was part of the curse, his wardrobe would have updated. Surely! Even when Regina cast the curse her wardrobe modernised. And She told Hook (when he was going to look for a green-skinned lady) that she would look the same as everyone else in SB. Hook in pirate garb does not look the same as anyone else.
With your #2 point- I agree, it’s a niggle- as that’d have to mean Killy loved his ship “more” than Emma & that doesnt fly with me, because if that was the case, how did he then come to feel Emma was his TL… unless the sacrifice failed & hence he had to use the ashes as a portal then? Hmmm Beside if it was objects that could be used, why wouldnt have Rumple cast the curse using Baes shawl/wrap thingy, instead of going about grooming Regina to be a twisted psycho in order to get her to cast it.
#3 Very good point & I think the one that probably precludes him from being the actual castor tbh.

My only problem (aside from what A&E said about the death & the curse requiring a heart), is why does the WW still have her memories- it means 1 person HAD to have escaped the effects fo the curse- but was that person Killy or WW …. & if it’s WW (due to Killy casting it), why isnt she tearing the place apart to find out why on earth they brought her there? WW knows more, than we know she knows & I dont like that- it leaves to many options on the table for my liking.
Forgive the rambling as I think out loud here, but
I wonder if Snowing goes to Glinda, she says something like ‘sorry, no one in FTL is strong enough to oppose WW (esp with DO at her at her beck & call), your only hope is to have Emma take her down (or words to that effect)’. So it’s back to Regina (unless they grill Glinda for info/ways to do it to), to find out how to cast a curse to get back to SB, but they know whomever casts it will be the only one to remember what happens & possibly stuck in SB with everyone else & it HAS to be someone Emma “trusts/listens too” (WW gets wind of the plan ala ‘circling spy/s’ & either heads of to cast it before they can or to make a counter curse/potion that say’s ‘drink me or something’ lol), Snowing & Co. find out WW knows (or that was their plan all along), as a back up they send word to Killy (who all have agreed is the only one Emma will ‘trust’ & listen too), to go portal hoping to get back to Emma & to use the JR’s wood as a portal? to do so- it could be that he has to fashion a vessal from the enchanted wood, that actually protects him from the after effects of the curse, but he is swept up by it & transported to SB, where he then leaves to go find Emma. If Snowing & Co manipulated WW into casting the curse, then it is still a ‘surprise’ to see why & who cast it. But I love the idea of Killy casting it on Snowings pleading that he is the only one Emma will listen to as she ‘trust’ him & we get Snowing telling Killy they’ve ‘seen how Emma acts around him’ etc. Could be a good way to tie up some loose ends & help with why Killy thinks he & Emma are TL as well.

I agree 100% Bo. However it is nice to know now that when faced with the inevitable “fan service” war cry of disappointed shippers, we have proof- set in black & white floating out there in cyberspace for ever, which we can fall back on to say ‘wrong- XYZ has nothing to do with fan service, the scripts where written mths in advance & unless they have a time machine, they cant be writing for “fan service” 😉
I’ve been thinking something similar @rumplegoldfan. This time it’s cast out of love rather than hate & I love that idea 🙂 The only thing that throws a spanner in the works for me, is A&E said someone was going to die (still *sigh*) & it makes sense if that was the person that lost their heart in order for the curse to be cast :/

Just read an interview with A&E & we can now shot down the “fan service” arguments for CS now, as they gave insight as to how far ahead each ep is written- making “fan service” impossible 🙂
Is there any character who has gotten more time on screen based on fan reaction?
Adam Horowitz: “I wouldn’t say that. Look, we love to listen to our fans and to hear from all of our fans on what they’re thinking and feeling but…”
Edward Kitsis: “When we originally wrote the pilot, our idea was that Prince Charming didn’t get out of the coma until episodes three or four. We felt that would be a great thing to build to, and Josh [Dallas] was so good in the pilot that we woke him up in the next episode. So oftentimes characters will get…it’s based on excitement. That’s a perfect example. We hadn’t even aired, it was a pilot, but we were so excited by Josh and the way he portrayed this character that we started writing for him more.”
Adam Horowitz: “Right. And it’s a balancing act of we want the fans to be happy, we want create a show that they appreciate and like, but we have to go with our gut. The example Eddie just explained is a perfect example of that where it’s like Josh was so amazing in the pilot that it kind of shifted a lot of the thinking about when the character would wake up and all that, that it forced us to act in a different way. It has to come from the gut and you have to go with your instincts. And, also, the way that the show is produced particularly this year when we did 11 episodes and 11 episodes, by the time we aired the first episode of the second run this year, we were writing the finale. So we really have to learn to trust our instincts and hope the fans trust them as well and go along with them.”
Edward Kitsis: “You can’t adjust that quickly. We don’t do it live. So if they’re like, ‘Wow, we really want more of somebody,’ you can’t just change the next week’s episode because that’s been locked and cut for months.”
Adam Horowitz: “It’s that thing where you want to know what the fans think and feel and appreciate that, but you also can’t write by polling.”
Edward Kitsis: “If we listened to everything, every character would be alive, dead, married, and single. [Laughing] I don’t know how to do all four.”
Adam Horowitz: “Exactly. And we would still be writing episode 102. We’d still be trying to figure out what to do, based on millions of opinions.”
They also had this to say on CS’s story for the rest of 3b-
What does the future hold for Hook and Emma? Adam Horowitz: “As far as Hook and Emma…” Edward Kitsis: “…there’s more to be told.” Adam Horowitz: “There’s more to be told and there’s a lot of craziness going on in Storybrooke right now that they’ve both got to deal with.” Edward Kitsis: “Unfortunately, Emma wants to go back to New York and Hook wants her to stay, so we’ll see what happens.”
They increased my excitement for this ep ten fold with this little gem 🙂
We’ve found out a little bit about what happened to Hook over the past year. Are we going to get more memories back before the finale? Adam Horowitz: “I think that the mystery of that missing year will be definitely resolved before the end of this year.” Edward Kitsis: “We will see a big chunk of that next week in episode 19 called ‘A Curious Thing.’”

I’m curious to that little moment between Hook and Emma coming out of Regina’s house. Was it just me thinking he was about to take her arm to help guide her down the stairs and she gave him a look of ‘what are you doing’?
I think he was about to put his hand on her back (which Emma noticed after his despondent behavior), then he withdrew it remembering he cant be close to her & didnt want to invite any intimacy between them with the gesture.
