Ok. Timeout. Parenting issues aside and custody issues aside. Back to Operation Cobra. We can deal with Operation Single Mom v. Married Mom and Operation Birth Mom v. Adoptive Mom another time. What till they actually have a custody battle and we’ll revisit this. Right now everyone in Storybrooke does not know who they are so the last thing on their minds is who gets what rather who am I?
Lol – well said.
My only comment is Lana Parrilla has said that Regina does indeed love Henry- I think its much like the other things Regina/EQ loves tho, if it comes down to her perceived happiness, her love will come off 2nd best.Jennifer Morrison has stated that Emma stayed in SB because the thought that she made the wrong decision by/for Henry is killing her & she couldnt leave until she knows he is safe & happy.
Personally i dont think she’s ready to be a full on parent just yet- but oats, how many 28yr olds who dont have kids let-a-lone have had 0 ties to family nor children most her life, are ready to be parents right off the bat, even 1st time parents dont get it right, right away either- parenting can & usually is a, it takes time & practice thing for most 🙂
I do think we are seeing Emma slowly become more parent like as the season has gone on. 🙂 (Henry’s lone adventures i dont really think can be held against Regina to much, as after all SB was frozen in time with 0 visitors for the last 28yrs, which pretty much rules out kidnap, stranger danger & typical modern-day concerns for kids out alone at any time – in NZ we still have places where kids & teens still walk home at night in the dark by themselves, sure its no longer common & becoming less, less as crime etc increases but it does happen, same with kids walking up to the local ‘shopping center’ – which looks much like SB’s lol- alone).[adrotate group="5"]surayyaParticipantLol Charming I do know a Red actually, I also know 2 Violets 😆 all 3 are their given birth names as well- but yeah personally Id never name a kid after a color 😉
I personally dont think their FTL names really matter TBH- its your actions in FTL that matter & get you what you want more so than who you are (ie PC turning his back on his wedding to go find & be with SW, RRH taking the tragedy of unknowingly killing her BF & learning from it to become a responsible adult who rules her curse rather than having it rule her etc)
I had to have a good giggle this morning when my lil sister (who grew up watching The Wild Thornberrys) said “Oh I thought, that was just cause Eliza Thornberry was able to talk to animals” Lol – so I guess depending on who you are & how you’ve grown up, Eliza can mean anything & be interpreted many ways & still ‘fit’ with the shows theme 😉

Yes, I can see that Surayya, but, as hjbau also said, MM has to be around Emma’s age. Also because both the actress and the series creators have commented on the situation of the daughter being the same age as the mother. And if Emma is 28, then MM has to be 26-30 yrs old (plus Ginny Goodwin is just a year older than Jennifer Morrison).
Oh, I’ve missed those statements somewhere along the way! If the creators & actress have already stated MM & Emma are the same age, then yep, MM has to be about 28 then.
Given MM & Emma are 28, then Ruby cant be much younger at all, as she just doesnt look that much younger at all (esp by the end of Red Handed Ep)-so she cant be younger than 24 if the others are 28- at least I wouldnt buy her been any younger.
I pretty much take EVERYTHING the ‘god guy’ mains do at this point (actions wise), as simply being down to the curse making them their worst selves (the creators & a number of the cast have said this as well- SB = the characters worst traits coming forward rather than their best etc) & this explains Ruby’s childish, irresponsible, impulsive, overly sexual/flirty behavior in SB.Okay just had a look on IMDB & Meghan Ory is 29 (turns 30 in 4mths), David Anders has just turned 31 (march)- so pretty sure Ruby’ll be approx 25-28yrs old which would make Whale approx 3-8yrs older max, than Ruby is, so I dont see that as creepy at all 🙂

You know, that age thing is really weird.
We know Emma is 28 and MM is supposed to be around the same age, so when the curse happened Snow was that same age as she didn’t age afterwards. I also always believed Cinderella and Red being around the same age as Snow.
The problem is that in The Price of Gold Ashley tells Emma that she’s 19! That would mean she was 19 when the curse happened! She just doesn’t look 10 years younger than Emma or MM/Snow!!
Really, the only one who could play the late teen early 20 is Sean/Prince Thomas and even that’s a stretch. 😕I did have these thoughts as well – I guess they had to make Cinder younger otherwise we’d all be like ‘man up women’ you’re 20 something act it! as opposed to awww she’s being bullied into giving up her baby cause she’s still so young- its the only thing I can put it down to anyway – I think looks wise it makes more sense if they’re all say around 25, but then we wouldnt have the story lines we have, as the traditional main girls were just that, young girls (16/17yrs max).
SW & PC have a big gap – the mirror article on him waking up says he in his 30’s – so unless he & MM are considered creepy as well….:)

Ruby is about 21. Emma is 28. Ashley is 19. Mary Margaret is about 21. I would think MM/Snow would be a year or two older than Ashley/ Cinderella. Snow did marry Charming before Cindy married Thomas. If there is some sort of tradition 18 to 21 was marrying age. Younger ones waited for older ones to marry, hence ladies in waiting. Especially royalty.
Yeah this is what I thought – all about the same age (I didnt include Emma as she’s not part of the FTL ‘circle’ of girls 😉 )
I didnt really think Whale was too old considering he went out/had a not so traditional 1 night stand, but thats just my point of view & may be way skewed 🙂surayyaParticipant@hjbau wrote:
I think that they are trying to make the Liza comparison i think i might just be too young to get it. I think that the way Granny said Eliza or Liza was sarcastic and that they were making fun of each other regardless of whether i get the reference or not that was the tone and the body language. And after hearing people talk about it the Liza Minnelli reference that makes enough sense to me that that is probably what they are talking about.
I totally agree with you (I dont even know who Liza is, but knew it wasnt a flattering name to be called 😆 ) – Granny was not happy when she called Ruby Liza, nor did she sound overly mad, more frustrated & in EVERY other Ep happy, ticked or otherwise (like in Red Handed for instance), she has been Ruby to everyone in SB.
Each to their own charming but as Ruby is listed ONLY as Red Riding Hood & Ruby in credits Im not willing to bet on her having another SB name- even in EVERY interview Ive read & seen she is listed under Ruby/RRH, no mention is made of any other name/s for her, so until I hear other wise from the EP/writer lips, she’s staying just Ruby on here 😉
surayyaParticipant@hjbau wrote:
I thought that was because Ruby is supposed to be quite a bit younger so he was creeping when he was caught trying to talk her up.
Oh is she? I just thought she was about SW & Cinders age since they are all friends & then all frozen in time….just assumed they are all meant to be close to or in their 20s lol

I do wonder if Red has another name in fairytale land though because when she met Snow she said everyone calls me Red suggesting that was not her given name.
Thats highly likely given that is what she said 😉 However Im only listing the SB names as they are the ones that for the mains at least connect the SB characters to their FTL counterparts
surayyaParticipantIMDB has Red’s SB name as Ruby- no liza/eliza is listed at all, so have to agree that they were just having a tiff & name calling.
Im leaving Ruby up as RRHs name until such a time as the writers/EP state her name is not actually Ruby 🙂surayyaParticipant@charming wrote:
Yeah, but characters who are the guards are just that nobody characters. Writers won’t give a character a name and significant portion of lines just so he can be FTL Regina Guard number two. He is Dr. Whale for a reason. We need to rewatch and see who he talks to, interacts with and see if in the background those nurses. One of the looks a lot like the fairy that Rumple zaps in the Cinderella story. There are two of them and the other one is blond which may be that one in the cuckoo for cocoa puffs ward that Regina goes to give the rose to meet Belle/ whatever her SB name is.
Ummm that was Exactly my point charming lol 🙂
I have actually re watched every ep start to finish twice already (some eps like the 1st 5 or so Ive seen 4 times or more now lol as there is NOTHING on TV here & I wont watch what I dont enjoy 😉 as its a waste of time) & have no new theories at all aside from maybe August’s reason for being in SB, but that’s another thread lol.
This is what he was saying to Ruby & what got my ‘what the oats!?’ radar going…
Ruby “No I dont need a ride”
Dr W “Its awfully cold out here
Ruby “Im fine really”
Dr W “I can carry your bag, where are you headed”
MM “Dr Whale?”
Dr W “Argh, MM, Emma; Hello there”
MM “Heyyyyy”
Dr W “I was just having a talk with Ruby here; but I should umm….”
Emma “Yeah, yeah you should”
Dr W “Yeah”Now he looked SERIOUSLY uncomfortable being snapped talking to Ruby & seemed to be trying to justify it.
