I’m slightly worried that the premise for him getting new clothes is that something happens to that beautiful jacket. I really really really hope they keep it though. It’s so nice and swishy. He needs to swish it more. Just get him out of the full leather, that’s all I want. @surayya – I do like those ones with the buttons. They’d have to dress him different to Charming and Charming wears a leather jacket so they can’t be too similar.
Yep, which is why I would rather they change him into black jeans & shirt/skivvy of some description & have him keep his coat, or if they are going to change up his clothes totally, keep him in a coat, rather than a jacket- but that’s just my preference 😉 I will be able to live if they put him in a jacket- but then they have to make sure Killian doesnt come off looking like Graham 2.0 or Charming 2.0.

Yes, this exactly! I dont want Killian to just be dressed as some modern dude, he needs to retain that ‘pirate/FTL’ persona with his modern clothing- just like Robin, there’s no doubting ‘who’ Robin is, despite wearing modern day clothing in SB.
I’M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!! 1) OUAT needs to totally rip off Sleepy Hollow’s tight jeans scene. Like, word for word. 2) Keep the coat. Or get some kind of modern version of it. 3) NO PLAID. Colin can wear plaid. Killian cannot. 4) Get rid of the big rings. Keep the thumb one, I like it for some reason. Same with the chain. 5) I’m on the fence about henleys. 6) I swear to God if they stick him in some sweater like Eric’s ‘working down at the cannery’ sweater, I will drive to Steveston and smack someone. Yes, I’ve given this subject some thought. Ok, a lot of thought.

Oh I REALLY hope we get a shopping scene (or a mention of a shopping trip) were Killian has tried on all sorts of things- loves the ‘jeans & shirts’ he’s/they’ve found, but cant find a better coat than his current one, so he keeps that lol :p

That’s all I want Belle to do. And I was beginning to like her in 3B as well, perhaps b/c we weren’t seeing her as just an extension of Rumpel (and perhaps the writer’s had something for her to do) I don’t mind if they use her as town researcher, that’s her strength, no reason why the others can’t utilise that – that way it makes her an important piece to the evil-fighting clique. She worked out the time travelling thing, she worked out how to defeat that monster thing Philip was, she was the one who found Hook’s ship – so she’s clearly not stupid (when love isn’t involved)

I didn’t expect Hook and Belle to be BFFs. Fair call, their previous meetings haven’t endeared him to her. My issue is just her blindness to what Rumpel has done. Even after everything she’d heard about the Dark One and what she herself has witnessed (ie Robin being tortured for days just for trying to steal a wand that wasn’t Rumpel’s in the first place), oh no it couldn’t be possible that Rumpel killed his wife for wanting to leave him, “because his heart is true”! In what realm is that statement remotely correct? I’m not saying there isn’t some good in him, but true? It’s putting Hook and Rumpel at polar opposites, which is very obvious they’re not considering five minutes later Rumpel tries to beat Hook to death with his cane, without Hook fighting back btw. But when Belle clocks that she interprets it as Hook trying to blacken Rumpel’s soul by taking his life. No Belle, the man is at the end of his tether, he wants to die. He doesn’t want to die to hurt Rumpel’s soul. She just frustrates me so much!

I’m just really hoping for some character growth this season- I will be very disappointed if Belle just rolls over on Rumple’s lies this time & Rumple doesnt really truly start to strive towards being ‘a better man’, he may genuinely love Belle, but it’s time for Belle to really & truly stand up to Rumple & hold him accountable- just like she did with Hook & Regina (the few times I enjoyed Belle in S3). I’m more cautious with Rumple- every time I get my hopes up that he’s moving forward, he back slides again.And I don’t know…I’ve said how I feel about Milah here before, but I really would put the majority of the blame for their situation on Rumple. The fact that really gives me that impression is that he refused to even try to make their lives better by moving somewhere where no one would know them–that night before she left, she gave him one last chance and he still refused to make an effort for her and their marriage after his actions caused them to become pariahs in their community.

1st off- Yay! I was so surprised & happy to see 2new pages today! 🙂
I think there’s a general rule when it comes to storytelling, if your characters don’t evolve or change, the reader tends to get bored with said character. Because what’s the point then of following a character from the beginning of a story to the end? Besides the plot, it’s to see how the character changes and evolves over time. It’s character growth. A character is not fascinating to watch if said character stays stagnant and doesn’t change.
Yeah, I think that’s what bugs me about Rumple & Belle most- it’s always the exact same thing in different situations. For me, Belle cant see it how it is with Rumple, so always makes the same choice over & over again, Rumple doesnt really want to change/fears ‘who’ he is, so he always falls back on making the same choices- like you said, it gets boring. I felt the same way about Cora & I used to feel the same way about Regina.
Snow drove me Batty when she was all ‘Give Regina another chance’- I was sitting there thinking ‘Really?! This women murders your father, tries to murder you, hunts you down for who knows how long, then later casts a curse to make your life miserable until the end of time itself, which means you then have to abandon your baby to an unknown world, to face god only knows what & you want to ‘give her another chance’ again…. I was totally with Charming on his opinion of Regina at that stage lol 😉Why would she immediately believe Hook, the guy who tried to kill her, over Rumple? Belle is on better terms with Hook now but at the time he’d just pointed a gun in her face so I can’t blame her for being all “your heart is rotten”.
If someone who obviously ‘knew’ my ‘boy friend’ from way back, told me (even in anger, because I was trespassing/ breaking & entering & trying to steal from him) that my boyfriend had murdered his ex wife- I would have been taken aback….. esp as I have 2 brain cells to knock together- as that would explain why 2 men whom seem to ‘know’, yet hate each other with all their hearts are feuding & if Rumple is her TL, should she not have been able to ‘feel’ the truth in the words.
That’s obviously not true because he doesn’t even tell her what he’s done.

I love Rumple’s wickedness and Gold’s quiet, very self assured darkness. It is a testament of Carlyle’s acting abilities that he appears to fit with Belle at all. She always “believes” in him but does he believe in her? Considering his easy lies, his respect for her is questionable. That may change (as in character arc) for her in season 4. We’ll see.
Good point that last one. S1, EF Rumple was one of my favs, by S2 I wasnt as overly interested in the Rumple & Gold arcs, just because Rumbelle seemed to me, to be stuck in making the ‘same choices when it comes to each other’ rut, which continued onto S3, where I simply missed quirky evil, (but admires Charming) Imp Rumple lol.
I do hope they drive the character of Rumple & Belle forward more next season.
Fans are entitled to embrace the characters they love, but without shredding some other character or attempting to make other fans feel like scum because they love someone else. Otherwise, they just look hateful and decidedly immature.

3B Hook impressed me greatly and it’s interesting to go back and watch old scenes of Hook with a new perspective especially scenes that I didn’t really like before.
I totally agree with you her POM- Even as a CS shipper, re watching old eps brings even deeper understanding to how clearly A&E laid it all out for us- sure most CS’ers picked up the over all points & direction the story was going in, but looking back, you really start to appreciate the additional nuances that become obvious with-in the story, when you know what the end of the season looks like- I gained additional insights on some well analyzed scenes & clarity on certain scenes I’d totally over looked on my rewatch of S2 & S3 🙂

That always bugged me. And still bugs me when I watch that episode. I’m sorry, but I’m glad Hook shot Belle. She’s just so blinded (stupid) by her love. How can she still think the sun shines out of Rumpel’s proverbial, esp in light of what Hook told her about how Milah died? I am totally with Hook when he asks ‘how can you fight for a man like that?’ That’s a damn good question. She thinks Rumpel has reformed, but he hasn’t. He’s still a lying and manipulative <insert-expletive-here>. Just because he hasn’t got his ugly exterior any more doesn’t mean he’s still not ugly on the inside. Hook’s heart definitely not rotten but I think the jury is still out on Rumpel’s. (Yeah I know it’s not about CS, but I needed to get that off my chest)
I hear you there- While I dont condone what Hook did, it didnt really bother me, because Belle lost my vote when she didnt give a monkeys backside about Rumple’s murder of Milah, so a bit like some people cant stand Hook for ‘taking’ Neal’s ex-girlfriend, I cant stand Belle for talking out her backside & being Repeatedly blinded by what & who Rumple really is. I get that it’s Belle & ‘seeing the goodness in people- esp Rumple/Beast’ is her thing, but come on! seriously how long do you keep willingly & blindly trusting someone whom keeps proving that it your faith & trust in him is misplaced….. & certain people say Hook is a bad role model for girls, because he ‘pursued’ Emma (despite the fact that even when Emma was mean & lashing out, she never told him to stop or back off), yet a man whom repeatedly deceives & manipulates his girlfriend is cool & a heart throb o.O … I just dont get the fandom sometimes lol.
It’s not about changing. People are who they are, there’s not a lot you can do about that. But there are good versions of yourself, and bad versions of yourself, and you have to decide for yourself, what version you want to be. He isn’t different for Emma. But it’s because of her and her influence and her family and the new life he’s making for himself that he is different.

I second loving that part, it’s very well worded & it should be obvious that Hook/Killian isnt bad at his core (despite Belle’s assessment of his heart!) I mean he went against his blimn kings orders to prevent genocide for crying out loud. Killian wasnt always Hook, nor always a pirate, so I dont know why some people insist he’s either ‘up to no good’ or ‘wouldnt be a good person if he didnt want Emma’- other than being blinded by their own disillusioned head cannons o.O Nice how a few haters seem to skip over the fact that he was already a clearly “good” person before he ever meet Emma lol.
I mean the show has clearly shown ‘Hook’ has a soft side & could be kind hearted, well he was still in full blown revenge mode… he didnt have to give Aurora back her heart- he choose to, he could have killed Emma to get to Rumple, instead he threw their fight, He could have left Emma bleeding, to be ‘eaten by a blood lusting giant’, but he didnt, he cleaned her wound & bandaged it, he could have gone on killing sprees to get to Rumple or to hurt him- he didnt (After all Hook’s most pure form of revenge would have been to do to Rumple, what Rumple did to him- murder his love, yet he chose not to- he wounded her & caused her to loose her ‘real’ memories instead). He’s hardly the hardened murderous villain that Regina, Cora & Rumple were- All of them killed just because 1) they wanted to, 2) it was ‘easy’ &/or 3) as ‘just in case’ policies, they certainly didnt limit themselves to just those whom got in their evil plans.
