Snow’s manipulation of Regina is epic. Not just the decision to cast the candle’s spell over the heart, but a foolproof way to get the heart back into Cora, *quite literally* at arm’s length – by getting someone else to do it. That is brilliant Dark Snow and I LOVE that the writer’s took her there!
But Light Snow comes back to doubt Dark Snow’s actions…. that is also great writing – now she has to deal with the consequences of her decisions. She knows she did the wrong thing. Or did she do the right thing (killing Cora) for the right reasons (protecting her family) but in the wrong way (by manipulating Regina)? Or did she do the wrong thing (killing Cora) for the right reasons (protecting her family) and in the wrong way (manipulating Regina)?

swanning-offParticipantAMAZEBALLS episode! Loved it.
Favourite points:
1) “This would have been enough. You would have been enough” – Cora realising, with her heart back in, that she didn’t need to do all of her scheming, killing and manipulating. The “mere” love of her daughter was fulfilling enough. Epic feels.
2) The Rumbelle scene was so wonderful, but what was more beautiful was Nealfire’s “I’m still angry with you” and then the hand holding. I actually audibly said “awwwww!!!” EPIC FEELZ RIGHT THERE.
3) Learning the origin of the “love is weakness” logic of Cora, not from Rumple but the King she hated most. Interesting. Also interesting that she claims she never loved anyone as much as Rumple. I don’t think she did love Rumple – no twuu wuv reversing of the Dark One as with Belle’s kiss. But she did love power. And she *couldn’t* love after she ripped her own heart out. It’s all about the spin you put on it, isn’t it Cora???
4) loved Snow’s manipulation of Regina. Brilliant tactic. ALSO loved that she regretted it immediately and tried to stop it, but was too late. Regina, naturally, will see this as further evidence of Snow’s evilness and not her own family’s f**ked up way of dealing with things. Regina never sees the consequences of her or her mother’s actions, but sees Snow’s consequences all too clearly.
5) I am SO freakin’ glad that the is-Rumple-Regina’s-father theory can be finally put to bed. Not happening at all. Wonderful manipulation of the contract by Cora – from the start, she wanted Rumple’s powers, not Rumple himself.Least favourites…. pretty minor but:
1) I assume we’re going to see more of the Cora/Eva feud? Because that can’t just be it, surely.
2) Why the smaller boat from the Jolly Roger? Hook never needed that. Or is it just that Peter Pan/Nealfire isn’t as good at “parking” as the Captain is?
3) Emma calling her father “David”. I dunno, I just think in moments of extreme emotion it would be more powerful for her to finally start calling her mother and father Mum and Dad. But I acknowledge that she met them as Mary Margaret and David – she doesn’t even call her mother Snow like the rest of town does.swanning-offParticipantSneak peek seems to suggest that they just hate each other. But there has to be something more. If Cora just killed Eva for that trip…. She’s a lot more evil than previously suggested.
swanning-offParticipantI just assumed it was something silly pulled out of thin air. It made me laugh “no, of course the best pizza is in New York!”

She was seen with her own traveling heart vault back in “Into the Deep”, during the Present Day.
I forgot how totally creepy that was. Who carts around a collection of still beating human hearts?!!! Freak.
swanning-offParticipantSee the “help us Mother Superior/Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re our only hope!” line made me laugh. I wonder how Ginny said it with a straight face…. surely that will be on the blooper reel this season!
swanning-offParticipant^^ excellent work. That is exactly the quote that made me think they’d all but confirmed Nealfire is Peter Pan.

She learned her magic from the Dark One, uses Dark Magic constantly, has no hesitation in manipulating everyone in the world(s) to get what she wants.
I don’t believe in the concept of “Dark Magic”. I don’t believe that anything described as “dark” is automatically evil. And I don’t believe that magic is “good” or “evil”. I think it all depends upon the intent and the results of the person who uses magic.
What we have seen so far suggests that Storybrooke’s residents see magic as Dark and Good – and magical beings as falling into those categories. All the references to magic so far on OUAT have fallen into Dark Magic (from the Dark One or those he’s trained – Cora, Regina) and Good/Fairy Magic (seen in Blue, Nova, Emma’s “love is strength” stuff).
Now I would LOVE to see, via reveals that the Blue Fairy is not as nice as she seems, that there is actually just magic and it’s the intention of the person who makes it Dark or Good magic. That would be awesome, and would tie in nicely with the shows theme that bad characters are not 100% bad and good characters are not 100% good.
A clue that this could be the ultimate point is that magic is always purple on this show. Good or Dark – the special effects used to signify magic are purple.

While I am an opponent for the Bae is Peter Pan theory, there was something at PaleyFest that caught my interest. When the panel was asked about current characters on the show having Fairy Tale identities left to be revealed this Season, Adam & Eddy initially said no, but some of the cast said “well…kinda….” or something along those lines.
That caught my eye too. And the mention of new characters that still have to be introduced – I interpreted that as Tinkerbell and confirming that Bae is Peter Pan as well.
