PersonallyPersonally I am glad Colin is not promoting this. It would only fuel people who don’t want Hook on the show. They would complain about how he has taken over the show and they’re favorite character is getting the shaft.

sweetgrassParticipantHi OUAT fg — your English is flawless. your story is similar to mine. It was finale that brought me back to OUAT. I had stopped watching last season and refused to give hook a chance. The marketing department did a bad job with promoting Hook. I though it was ridiculous to have pirate on the show. I like Johnn Depp, but Pirate of the Carribeans is overrated. So to extent I watches I always skipped Hook’s scenes.
after the finale, I went to YouTube and watched all the Hook scenes and fell in love with this character. I think he is wonderfully layered and complex. I also think his relationships with all the other characters are unique and add something new to the characters.
i wish the promo department had done a better job. People complain that Hook has taken over the show, but he hasn’t. the promos might show a lot about Hook, but he doesn’t have a disapportionate amount of screeentime. They’re in Neverland and of the Jr 6 I think he has had the least a amount of screen time.
i am so happy people are giving Hook a chance and that Colin is making the most of his scenes, even if it just handing a coconut to Emma or looking relieved when she survived the drowning. I am also glad that more and more people see the chemistry between hook and Emma.

sweetgrassParticipantCan I claim Hook and Emma’ s smoldering first kiss.?

October 16, 2013 at 11:01 am in reply to: Tinkerbell and her History with Neverland, Hook, and Pan #216329sweetgrassParticipantHook couldn’t have been in Neverland as a boy. He was excited to go there in The Crocodile but not so eager in ASOTM. Hook said he spent ages trying to escape, since Neverland is so difficult to get out of, Hook wouldn’t just be able to leave as a boy then find it difficult as an adult. Also in ASOTM, Felix warned Hook about Pan since he was new to the island, if Hook had been there before, Felix would’ve recognised him. Felix recognised Bae even though he’d been away from Neverland for at least 11 years and had morphed from Dylan Schmid to Michael Raymond-James. Tink would’ve had to turn up in Neverland whilst Hook and Bae were there. Also Tink would’ve fit in with the Lost Boys as a “Lost Girl” since she was considered a lost cause by Blue Fairy and abandoned.
unless Peter Pan arrived after Hook left the first time and turned Neverland dark. It m would eexplain how Hook knew about Neverland.
I agree that Hook was never in NL as a boy. So whatever history he and Tink have it took place for the 250+ years that he spent there. If Tink was banished to NL right after the events of QACF then that’s about 10 years before the Curse. Hook came to FTL maybe a year before the Curse (we’re not 100% sure). So they would have known each other in NL for maybe 9 years.
But wouldn’t he know she had no power if he met her after the de-winging?
Like I said this is a crack theory but I am very curious about next two episodeas.

October 16, 2013 at 3:23 am in reply to: Tinkerbell and her History with Neverland, Hook, and Pan #216274sweetgrassParticipantI am about to propose some serious crack. I know there was lot of speculation that Rumple was a Lost Boy, which didn’t make sense to me given that his father was known in their village as a coward, but I thought maybe I was wrong given Rumple’s past with PP.
Then I saw the stills for episode 3.04 and I am thinking maybe Hook is the lost boy and that he knew Tinker Belle from when he was a child and I wonder if his first time in Neverland predates Pan’s arrival in Neverland. Maybe Hook calls her Lady Bell in the way a child usually refers to an adult with the Miss, Mrs or Mr title.
Maybe, based on the stills, Rumple cut a deal with Pan to send Pan willingly to Neverland for eternal youth in order to get Bae back from Pan’s cult. Initially I thought Pan and Rumple were brothers but the 3.04 stills have me doubting.
As for Hook and the saucy looks between Hook and TinkerBell..
When he came back as an adult, they may have picked up us friends, before Tink was de-winged. I don’t know if they were friends with benefits, since fairies can’t love. But it seemed to me that Tink was watching Hook and Emma very intensely in the coconut scene and Tink was known for her jealousy.
What if Tink is jealous of Emma and she tries to get rid of Emma, either by betraying her to Pan or by trying to convince Hook that Bae is the one for Emma. I could spin up a whole lot of scenarios.

sweetgrassParticipantI think it was Neal because Pan was just talking about his father being the spawn of the Dark ONe and Henry’s birth (which did not involve Regina), I would be interested in seeing the tweet saying it was Regina. It totally was not m impression from Pan’s conversation and Jane’s tweet.

sweetgrassParticipantRumple fathered Bae before he became the dark one. Therefore the “dark genes” shouldn’t really affect Bae because he was conceived when Rumple was a normal man.
that was my initial reaction but when you stop and think about what Jane said and how cancer works it makes sense. Cancer can be caused by a mutation in your genes. Like when something in the environment causes a change and you genes become altered in the cancerous cell and that cell multiplies like crazy. Certain chemicals and radiation can do that. Sometimes the gene is already there and somewhat dormant and than triggered by something. Think the breast cancer gene.

sweetgrassParticipantcapt eala and mysterykat – I agree with your assessments.
did you see this tweet from Jane Espenson?

Basically she is saying that Darkness is a mutagenic carcinogen like radiation/asbsetos/other cancer causing substance. So when Rumple took on the dark one mantel, he cursed his line with the cancer of darkness, which is why Henry is the product off both darkness and love. This is very intriguing to me.

October 14, 2013 at 4:14 am in reply to: 3×03 “Quite a Common Fairy” FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOMENTS #215707sweetgrassParticipantThings I like: A LOT. This is m favorite this season.
1. I totally called it. Regina was the one that Tink had an issue with. That’s 2 for me.
2. I loved Tinkerbell. She’s awesome and would be fun to have as a friend.
3. I really liked Mulan tonight. Her scene with Aurora was so well acted.
4. I loved the Neverland scenes with Tink and Regina.
5. I liked Charming confiding in Hook. I see a beautiful Brotp.
6. I liked the Hook and Emma coconut scene.
7. I loved Snowing scenes.
There are only two things I did not like at all
1. The thought that Robin Hood owes Rumple anything at all. Rumple tortured RobinHood. If anyone owes anything to the other, it is Rumple who needs atone for his deeds against RobinHood.
2. That Neal was willing to use a 4 year old as bait and guilting Robin for wanting to protect his son. That is not cool. I agree with BellaRose: Neal would not let his son be used this way. That kid got lucky Mulan’s sword is magical and deflects magic. Otherwise Roland would have been a goner and still might be. I fear that the Shadow comes back for roland and that’s how RobinHood ends up meeting Regina in Neverland when he grabs onto the Shadow to keep his son safe.
I am very curious about Hook’s relationship with Tink and Pan. When are we going to see both relationships? Those relationships should be very important to Hook’s character as he is part of the original Peter Pan story.
