And all that talk about Tink not letting a slight go unpunished, everyone assumed that would refer to her relationship with Hook, but maybe it’s actually to do with her relationship with Rumple.
my assumption is that it was Regina that slighted tink. Regina can’t help herself.

sweetgrassParticipantfor me, it will depend. This is actually my first ship. I have never shipped in any show or book, and was perfectly happy so long as it was a good story. For Once, my fear is that my favorite character will get the short stick. Maybe because this is a show about fairy tales and happy endings. I want that for my favorite character and I want it to be epic. I worry that my favorite will be undermined or regulated to a bad story and no happy ending.

Neal and Mulan scenes had good chemistry onscreen To me. There was a sweetness present. I can see her giving Neal the strength he needs. I think it would be hysterical seeing Rumple dealing with Mulan as a daughter in law. She’s so honorable and he’s not, and she will call him out on his behavior. Oh well, for logistic reasons I don’t think we will see this.
edited for stupid autocorrect.

sweetgrassParticipantI am technically challenged and don’t have the latest gadgets. I didn’t record the recap. It was on before the premeire.

September 30, 2013 at 1:34 am in reply to: 3×01 “The Heart of the Truest Believer” — FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOMENTS #212996sweetgrassParticipantOverall, I really liked this episode. I did feel it was a little disjointed, but loved most of the individual pieces. I think the only thing I really didn’t like was RH saying he owed Rumple one. Sorry but you don’t owe someone who is torturing you anything for stopping. Outside of that I really like:
1. Regina’s snark. She was great. I like snark.
2. I loved both Regina and Emma challenging Snow’s world view.
3. I loved that Snow wasn’t all rainbows and magic unicorns, but showed her tough side and punched Regina..
4. I really liked Hook’s interaction with Regina and Emma, including the looks that past between them at different points. Ex the little shrug Hook gave Regina at the end of Emma’s speech. For me Hook and Regina could be BFFs because they are both a little darker and snarkier that the other characters with the exception of Rumple.
5. I loved Peter Pan. He was perfectly menancing.
6. I liked the Charming family moments. It was long overdue. I think it is realistic for Emma to challenge her parents. It’s about time they had a real conversation about what it means for them not to have been around for Emma.
7. I really liked Neal and Mulan scenes. To be honest, I never got the Warrior Fire ship. It seemed random to me, but it kinda works here. I found a sweetness in their interaction.
8. I loved Herny flying.
Yeah, I thought I would be the only one. I completely hated that as well. I mean, her character was not the most likeable once you found out that she had been manipulating them all, but when she realized that what Henry had said was true, it was awesome. I finally saw her have an actual character instead of being either purposely oblivious and happy or righteously dignified. Her eyes held some real emotion and when she stood in front of Henry and told him to run, I felt it was for his safety and not to keep him away from the Lost Ones out of spite. I stopped and thought ‘Hmm. I wonder what was up with her? I wonder what lead her onto the path that she is on? After all, it’s unfair to only get Greg’s backstory when she obviously seems to have something going on. She has to have some sort of tale.’ Then Rumpelstiltskin came…*sigh* I love Rumpel, but I have never been so unhappy to see him in a scene. When Tamara started to beg, it really felt genuine. She almost reminded me of a child. When he ripped out her heart, it felt more horrible than a lot of other things he’s done. It felt as though he’d wasted character potential. It also felt as though he’d taken revenge on a person who’s crimes against him had actually been rendered null and void (which is kind of true, even though he didn’t know that). This, of course, brings to mind something that I have seen in Once but haven’t thought much on until now…It seems that if you are not magical, or are not a chosen one directly connected to magic, you get the short end of everything. This whole finding each other and true love stuff seems to extend only as far as the Charmingstiltskin bloodline (Yes, I consider Hook, Regina and Belle to be part of it by association). If you’re not of it, nobody cares. Greg was obviously wronged by Regina in an irreversible way, yet because she is a magical and misunderstood main character, he gets the Dementor’s Kiss for it and she doesn’t. As soon as I saw them go, instead of being happy that GOAT was done for good, I just felt…bitter. I felt like it was so unfair that they had to die when our main characters who have done so much worse were forgiven and are still alive “finding each other” as we speak… which was a very unexpected feeling.
I totally agree about how the magical beings and royalty (I know you didn’t include the royalty) are treated like only their pain and suffering counts. Everyone else needs to buck up if they are hurt by a magical being/royal and are evil if they lash out at the one hurting them. I always wished that Greg had told Regina that he was giving her electro shock treatment because that is what he received for believing an Evil Queen killed his father. It may be why I so strongly support Hook. I feel like everyone in SB wants to sweep over Milah’s death, because its inconvenient. Just get over it and happily accepst that your loved was murdered.

sweetgrassParticipantDid you see the recap? In it A&E said that Neal genuinely loved Tamara. I was very surprised when he said that.

It was very good! There was some VERY promising dialogue/looks between them, especially on Killian’s side. He totally adores her, it’s obvious!!!! Did anyone else notice that he didn’t breathe until Emma did when she was pulled out of the water???????? This is how you OTP guys!!!!!!
I saw it and agree. They did focus on his face a couple of times. Captian Eala I thought you were in Ireland. How did you see it?
