Wow! So, Regina really was a princesss? I never would have guessed that. I always assumed that her family was just very wealthy because of all the deals Cora made with Rumpel. I can’t wait to see this episode!

Sorry, but I think Belle looks phenomenal. Belle’s story is very different from Snow’s, so I don’t think the writers are going to use Snow as a model for Belle in this episode. And not every female warrior needs to be compaired to Snow. Mulan is a warrior too, but she’s nothing like Snow.
Yes, I agree. I think Belle looks awesome. I also think it’s a little unfair and a bit presumptuous to assume that every female fighter on the show is an attempt from the writers to turn them into another Snow White. Belle’s story is nothing like Snow’s, so there’s no way she can become another “Snow.”
Besides, Belle going off and having an adventure with Mulan makes sense for her character. She said in Skin Deep that she always wanted to run off and see the world. And in particular, she said that she always wanted to be brave. And this brief encounter with Mulan was her chance.

I know that. My argument was that a lot of people bash Regina for her evil deeds here yet no one seems to bash Rumple’s deeds, which IMO, are worse.
I don’t agree. The main reason why Regina has received so much criticism lately is because a good portion of the character centric episodes have been centered on her. So naturally, people are going to focus their criticism on her. But whenever one of Rumpel’s character centric episodes airs, people criticize him as well.

No that’s not what I’m saying. I’m comparing her and Rumple and saying that Regina is bad but Rumple is worse. Regina wouldn’t let Henry die, but Rumple would have.
They are similar in the way that they wouldn’t let anyone stand in the way of their children, but Rumple had done it on a much larger scale. Regina just went after Snow and Charming, while Rumple pulled strings all over FTL to get to our world.
And Regina has so far actually done things to redeem herself. Gold hasn’t showed any interest in that and keeps using magic and kidnapping people. He was even about to let Emma and Snow die on their way back from FTL through the portal but Regina made a choice to negate that magic so they could pass through.Of course Regina wouldn’t let Henry die. He’s her son. Just like Rumpel wouldn’t let Baelfire die. But Regina has sacrificed children before. All the children she sent to the Blind Witch were eventually eaten. Hansel and Gretal are the only ones who survived. But with Rumpel, we at least learned that he ended the ogre wars and freed all the child soldiers after he became the Dark One in “The Return.”
And bringing up the evil deeds of another villain doesn’t really excuse the things that Regina has done. No one was arguing whether or not Regina was more evil than Rumpel. The main debate was between Regina and Emma. So using the argument that “Rumpel is more evil than Regina” is kind of weak.

As for the whole debate here about Regina being evil, which I have admittedly not read through that throughly, it’s funny how everyone’s quick to say she’s bad for Henry and she’s dangerous to him and so on. Because let’s face it, it wasn’t Regina’s fault that Henry died in the finale. It was Gold’s. He was the one who trapped Emma in the elevator and he was the one who prevented them from getting to Henry in time, all to get his magic back. Regina just benefited from that too, but she would never endanger Henry’s life to get magic.
So Regina using the sleeping curse to poison Emma was all Rumpel’s fault? Regina recruited Jefferson to retrieve the poisonous apple from the Enchanted Forest and she made the poisonous apple turnover. That is all on Regina. She let her hatred for Emma get the best of her and it came back to bite her.
Yes, I agree. That whole mess started with Regina. She wanted to get rid of Emma without killing her (not that she didn’t want to, but Rumpel put a protection claus in the curse that ensured Emma’s safety), so she decided to use the poisonous apple. In fact, Mr. Gold warned her (again) that all magic comes with a price right before she made the poisonous apple turnover. The hand that poisononed Henry was Regina’s, not Mr. Gold’s.
And as far as the whole Emma vs. Regina debate goes, it’s moot. Neither one is to blame. They were manipulated by Cora and they fell right into her trap. Emma tried to give Regina a chance, but all the evidence pointed to Regina unfortunately. She had no way of knowing Cora was behind the crime.
the fairestParticipantOMG! I think I just saw the scene where Regina captured Belle! 😮
the fairestParticipantThat promo just made my entire week! Thank you so much for posting it!
I’m glad the show is finally moving along with the search for Baelfire. I’ve been waiting for this for nearly a year now.
*Sigh* My heart. I love the scene of Mr. Gold and Belle standing arm-in-arm at the Storybrooke border. It’s good to see Gold and Belle together again. We haven’t received a lot of them season, so it’ll be nice to see them together.
