That’s an interesting theory.
Based of the actors and actresses talk for the next season it would appear that much of the show is going to revolve around Emma and the relationships she has with the people she cares about most, and how that effects both SB and FTL.
She is the “Savior”, and I’m sure her saving has only just begun.
[adrotate group="5"]the_saviorParticipantThought just came to mind, but what happens if the magic brought into “our” world actually begins to kill Rumpelstiltskin?
They keep saying that magic in our world in unpredictable, so why should we just assume that the dagger, dark ones powers, Regina’s powers are going to be the same as they are in FTL?
the_saviorParticipantNow that magic is back into the picture and the favor will be reinforced by magic, I wonder exactly what Rumpel has up his sleeve…. here are some of my theories.
1. The dagger will fall into the hands of Regina and Rumpel will ask Emma to retrieve it from her.
2. A plot not yet revealed will cause Rumpel to sacrifice himself for the greater good, and Emma will have to rely on another source of power (dark one powers) to defeat Regina or a not yet introduced evil.
3. Because Emma is one of the only people that can leave Storybrooke, Gold may ask her to travel somewhere to find Bae or to retrieve something.
4.He may ask Emma to protect Belle or Bae as a dying wish.
Obviously, it has to be something that Rumpel forsees happening and something that Emma would not do willingly. There are only a few things that I could see Emma having to be FORCED to do, and that would involve anything with her family, especially Henry, or something that is not good.
I think the Finale proved that she is willing to not only protect Henry, but also take on the burden of breaking the curse.
We shall see
the_saviorParticipantPerhaps the BF knew that Rumpel didn’t really want to get rid of his powers, so the kiss wouldn’t have worked anyways. It’s not till after Bae leaves that something inside of him clicks and he starts to become “semi- redeemed”.
With Belle it’s more of a romantic love, something that he did WANT, so I could see how that would have worked, but not Bae kissing him solely in effort to change him.
the_saviorParticipantI think in the first couple of episodes in season 2 will revolve around why exactly Rumepl needs his power, and I truly believe it has to do with this “final battle”, and that in fairy-tale world it will pick off with Snow/Charming take the kingdom, which will result in some serious consequences which will result into the “final” battle. I mean, the way Gold said “there is something that I must do” kinda gave me chills up my spine, like there is something that only he can do, and for the moment he has to sacrifice a proper reunion and save someone, or something from something horrible.
While I do believe he is addicted to power, I think based off his reaction from seeing Belle and thinking that August was Bae shows that he is truly sorry for his actions, and would be willing to give up his power to be with them.
I mean, he was in a rush, and for him to stop and completely forget about what “he must do” and tell Belle that he loves her was very touching, and I think shows how much he loves her.

I’ve been wondering about the same thing in Mother Superior/Blue Fairy thread. I’m leaning towards the theory that it is a plot hole. I think Bae did love his dad despite his Dark One form. That is why he took such desperate measures to save Rumple from himself. I think Rumple might have been able to resist the transformation, but the Blue Fairy should at least have had the decency to tell Bae about that possibility instead of straight away sending him to another world . He could have tried true love’s kiss first without telling his dad why he is kissing him.
I concur, the Blue Fairy out of everyone should have known about True Love’s kiss “before it became the hip thing to know”. 🙄
Even if it is a plot hole, it bothers me because it’s something so dynamic to the plot, and without a proper explanation as in to why this wouldn’t have worked on Rumpel and Bae we could just assume that if this were to happen, that we wouldn’t even have a show haha.
I don’t know…. I’ve been wracking my brain to come up with a proper explanation, and the only one I can really lean against is perhaps like oncescape said about Belle actually accepting Rumpel for who he is (even if she was trying to somewhat change him) as opposed to Bae who didn’t love his father’s new form, but his former self. (I can’t blame the kid though) haha.
Who know… I just hope the writers explain this because it’s bothering me. 0.o
the_saviorParticipantI believe at this point in time that the safest place for Belle is defiantly with Mr. Gold.
She needs his protection as much as he needs her to be his rock when it comes to remaining humane.
the_saviorParticipantI’m curious to know how FAR Rumpel knows what will happen in the future, and if he still planned on putting the vial into the well if August actually was Bae.
Concerning the “Final Battle” I’m led to believe that there is more at stake than just trying to find his son when it comes to bringing magic into Storybrooke.
the_saviorParticipantI also would be happy with someone controlling Rumpel with the dagger, and Belle kissing him amongst an epic scene and converting him again.
And after he goes “You saved me … again” <3
the_saviorParticipantI wonder how Belle is going to react to all of this “power”.
I obviously think that Rumpel won’t let Belle out of his sight in order to protect her, but I also can’t see Belle wanting to stay with him if he uses it for evil again, but who knows, he might be more “tame” with his magic around her.
