Apparently, so did sizzurp.
There’s been rumors about Colin O’Donoghue for a long time. The latest one is that he OD’d. This is not confirmed, and I’m sure he’ll tweet again soon enough proving again that he’s alive and well, and then before you know it something new will be out there bouncing around. After a while, if anything ever really does happen to him, nobody’s going to believe it until something official is said. I’d say that until something office is said, leave it alone and quit spreading rumors.

thebeeParticipantI think one thing that upsets viewers is a growing impression that they are somehow irrelevant in the scheme of things far as the show goes. The show is not written for the writers. It’s not the writers who support it. One should never expect reward without merit.

If anybody does a twitter search, there are just as many fans of Neal as there are Captain Hook. That said, there is a HUGE block of fandom out there that loves the idea of Captain Swan…..of the people who still watch the show.
I know that some people think this show is only for the writers, and they shouldn’t have to listen to the fans….yeah, whatever.
I’ve seen here before where somebody said they don’t owe anything to this show. They’re right. I’m a viewer who takes time out of my schedule to watch it. I owe ABC nothing. H&K do owe ABC, though. They owe a good product which ABC gave their confidence for Once Upon A Time to carry.
If ratings are bad as it sounds like they are, it really seems to me like somebody would have the common sense to make fans happy so they’ll want to watch. If that’s not a priority, then why watch it? My point? I think Captain Swan would be good for ratings, and I think the powers-that-be would have to be braindead to pass the opportunity up. Are there other characters/ships people like? Yes, there are, but if anybody wants to do some homework, he/she might find that a majority of people are bored to tears by Neal, and have a large preference for Captain Hook. Get rid of Hook, get rid of the show.
Haters: Whine, cry, pitch your fits, and throw all the tantrums you want over what I just said. It isn’t going to change logistics for things to be anything other than what they are. I’m sure I’ll hear X, Y, and Z about the main characters, etc. There’s been a lot of that while Hook’s been away, and whoa, what wonderful results that’s had for ratings…NOT! I’ll say it again: Get rid of Hook, get rid of the show. I like Colin, but I’m creeped out by stuff I read by people. I’m not going to go into it, but I am going to say that if he can’t do it, recast him, and find somebody else who can. relationship and dynamic that fans want, and a replacement will easily and quickly be looked over so long as it is Captain Hook.
That’s all I have to say about it.

And now I’m completely terrified.
Heh, I was more terrified when I first saw MRJ’s twitter and the Henry crying scene. A temporary death I can deal with; I’d cry and I’d hate it, but I can deal with. An irreversible one, however, I can’t; Neal just got back into Henry’s life and his dynamic with everyone in the cast is fantastic, and Rumple is a powerful and relevant player in the show’s dynamics, losing either for good would be a great mistake.
Well, here’s another possibility:
What if MRJ’s tweet was to throw us off? What if this scene is his last for the season, but not his last for the show. On top of that, what if all the Hook stuff we get next season will only be flashbacks that play into story telling purposes for Neal?
I know somebody’s going to want to be mad at me for saying so, but I’m going to suggest it again: What if it’s Hook who dies?
Let’s see if we get any news about Colin O’Donoghue filming today. That could tell us a lot.

Major ouch, guys. Like major.
A predictable outcome if the audience doesn’t feel satisfied or wanted. I mean look at the fans of Captain Hook. They’ve been begging for something to cheer them up and tide them over for weeks, and are just being ignored. Just some little bit of information about Hook, maybe an article about Colin filming….something! I think interviews with Colin O’Donoghue about Hook would in itself, be helpful because it keeps the proverbial blood flowing. They’ve gotten nothing, and so nothing is flowing, things have grown stagnant, and now deterioration has set in. Last night, a favorite character (adult August) was eliminated. Fans were upset, but I wonder how many nerves would have been settled if Bailey had done an interview released after the show, about why he left Once, and about his feelings on August’s story? That’s an untapped resource the show’s powers-that-be didn’t recognize because the foundation of such a need (the fans) has already been arrogantly dismissed as being only a secondary priority.
The writers have an “it’s my party” attitude, and so fans don’t feel respected, wanted, or even needed. Fans want to see this show succeed. We are hungry for information and plot criteria to stay excited and interested in OUAT, but how can that happen if we aren’t getting anything?
Why is anybody surprised the show is in trouble? Maybe K&H have given up on this show. Maybe this is all part of a controlled “shut-down” for a re-focus on “Wonderland”, if they don’t believe that there is further potential left for story material to keep Once Upon A Time active and productive. If this is the case though, and if they approach Wonderland in the same way as this show, how will that result be any different?
I think the suits at ABC need to give that some serious thought and contemplation before committing to any long-term and expensive projects with K&H again.

[ Yeah, a character’s story is what it is, but I think they’re wasting a chance to make his story (and the character) meaningful and socially productive.
But if he was all that, he wouldn’t be any FUN. The fact he is such a misfit is part of his charm. Look at Jack Sparrow, He goes flat on his face, gets punched and behaves like a lunatic. And we LOVE him (being portrayed by Johnny Depp of course helps) Same goes for Hook, he is a charmer and a cad. Please let him stay that way. There are enough serious people in Storybrooke as it is. Part of me wishes a full blown Rumpel in Storybrooke, Gold is far more vindictive and sinister, Rumpel is vindictive too, but with flair and a cackle.
I just couldn’t get into that. If that’s where they’re going, wasting what they’ve got and turning Hook into a comedy routine, then I’m out.

I’d take it the reason Hook hasn’t been caught filming lately is because perhaps a lot of his recent scenes take place indoors. Vancity can only eavesdrop on certain scenes that are filmed right out in the open in Steveston.
Cheaply as his character has been handled lately, I’m having a hard time buying that. This kind of crap is what lead to the brouhaha of people asking if he was ok, or if something happened to him.
