ParticipantIf they’d made Hades actually look otherworldly then the blue flames wouldn’t look so bad. As it is, they’ve just got a guy in a suit with CGI fire for hair which looks out of place.
I think that’s a good point. Without the suit, maybe it looks more fitting.

ParticipantA blue streak or a blue hat or even just a blue suit would have worked better. I agree. He looks like a Who from Dr. Seuss with a bad dye job.

ParticipantI personally wanted the blue hair, simply so it wasn’t just a guy in a suit. Like the blue hair was such a distinctive characteristic of Hades from the Disney film. Does it translate well to the tv screen on an actual actor? Ehh not sure. But maybe it will be better going forward. I mean, that’s sort of what a real actor with CGI imposed blue wavy hair would look like. So I’m not sure how much better they could do. I think it looks ridiculous, but after a couple scenes, we’ll get used to it and I think it will be fine.

ParticipantNever mind I think I found it. Thanks.

ParticipantI must be blind. Where are these “sections” to start the thread at?
thedarkonedearie
ParticipantSo I need someone to tell me how to start a new thread…entertainment weekly just came out with a new article and it says that it’s a first look at Hades and he’s got quite the added feature…. Is this actually what they are doing?

ParticipantA&E aren’t bothered about building the mythology of the show, it’s all about the current arc. They insert scenes to serve the episode even though it contradicts earlier episodes. At this juncture, any questions you have about previous seasons that haven’t been answered aren’t going to be answered.
So here’s the optimist in me again….I think once they are done stalling, and are given an end date by ABC, they can narrow the story and bring back old questions and themes for the final push. They might not, but just because they haven’t answered questions so far, doesn’t mean they won’t by the end of it.
In LOST, while some questions never got answered, they did answer a lot of stuff by the end of it, and as a long time fan, I was mostly satisfied. I always thought one day at the end, LOST would answer my burning questions, and during that final season and even in season 5, they did answer some, however not all. If OUAT could just answer half of the stuff they have left us pondering over, I’d be happy, and I don’t think it’s impossible to think they could do it. I only reference LOST here because A&E wrote for the show, LOST is my favorite show of all time, and I only started watching OUAT because of it. It’s not the best comparison, but LOST was heavily criticized for posing questions, answering a couple, but in doing so, posed a few questions…..But at least they answered some and OUAT can do the same.

ParticipantIt started with Cora, it’s only fitting for Cora to finish it. I would love for Cora to hold an intervention between her daughters…just them and them alone. Finally an episode I have to look forward to…I have little hope, but something is better than nothing!
I’ll get super excited about this when Barbara is confirmed or starts filming again for this episode. Until then, I’m not counting my chickens that she will be in it.

ParticipantThe fault that is in the split season is like @RumplesGirl said, Adam and Eddy focus on the shiny things rather than their plot. Split seasons work with shows like TWD or Shonda Rhimes Thursdays because they actually focus on their plot rather than focusing on the unimportant things and catering to ships. In less stressful news…who else watched and fell in love with Grease Live?
Yeah you guys are right. The split seasons can and should work. Shiny objects… Oh and I actually really enjoyed Grease Live! One golf cart almost flipped over at the end though haha.
This is to say nothing of Jefferson and his hat, Cora/Rumple’s struggle/war, Pan’s drawing of Henry, Neal’s entire life, and so on and so forth.
Uhh I miss these story lines. Someone should make a thread of all the lost story lines and mentions of characters and give percentages as to the likelihood we will ever see them.

ParticipantCan’t argue with most of the points here. Neverland arc still had many flaws, and I agree with most of what you said. I just really had many issues with season 2 so I just meant that I understood why A&E started splitting them up.
They need to get rid of all the main characters except Emma, Henry and Regina while promoting new characters, which will be August, Lily, Maleficent , Mulan and Ruby. Snow, Charming and Rumple and Belle’s stories are done and they should just let them finish. Hook, Zelena and Robin are underdeveloped and they just bring the story down (No more ships bullshit). All I want is Regina doing Mayor stuff, Emna being the sheriff and along with Henry, they help bring back the Happy endings of characters that returned from forgotten characters island.
And unfortunately what you are asking can never happen. But a big problem they ran into, were cast members leaving. Remember how great Jefferson was? And how interesting it was to see all the doors to portals in Jefferson’s hat? But then Sebastian Stan did other projects. Same with Ruby. Same with Mulan. Same with August. So while some of the blame is the writers just not pursuing certain story lines they set up for us (eh hem Malificient and Lily), part of the problem was also actor’s availability.
But I think you laid out quite a compelling plot for a possible final season with Lily’s dad being the main villain. I just feel like these writers have plans like this for the very end. I mean who just sets up a “black fairy” and sets up Maleficient’s father and doesn’t come back to it, ever. They obviously had an idea of who the black fairy was, of who Maleficient’s father was otherwise they wouldn’t have dropped these pieces of information. As I’ve said before, my hope is that they’re stalling til the end and Oz, frozen, UW were just bridges to get to where we are now. I think they genuinely always wanted to tell the origins of the dark one, they just screwed it up. My hope is they are stalling til the end and once in the final season, we will see at least some of these old themes that you mentioned, pop up again.
There’s no reason they can’t give us more Ruby and Mulan. We know we are! We know we are going to get some sort of Regina atoning for her sins. There’s no reason they can’t give us more Maleficient and Lily. The writers have said they plan on telling that down the line. But I suppose they could be lying. It’s just because of the shear ability to be able to do some of these things, that makes me think there’s a chance.
