Since there are no random guest stars…..I have to think that this is where we see Faciler and Gothel’s backstory and how they are intertwined which should hopefully provide the much needed clarity of their actions in Hyperion Heights.
[adrotate group="5"]thedarkonedearieParticipantI think it has always been possible that it would be Henry since he drove by on his bike right when Rumpel arrived. I don’t think the writers remember the whole Henry will be his undoing prophecy.
That’s what scares me….which is too bad because if they did remember, it would be an easy way for them to say they had this planned all along which we know writers love to try and pull (they are LOST writers after all).
thedarkonedearieParticipantActually put me in the boat that says the Guardian is either Alice or Facilier. But I am starting to get a strong feeling that Facilier is actually a good guy. His connection to the dead is too convenient considering Rumple and Belle’s predicament, and the fact that Regina keeps trusting this guy. She already was right to trust him when he said he didn’t have the dagger. But we know he wants the dagger…..so unless he just wants it for power (this is what I think Gothel wants and Facilier is trying to stop her), then he may just want the dagger so he can be the Guardian. I feel like they have left his reasoning for wanting the dagger ambiguous on purpose. This would not explain why he just doesn’t tell Rumple, but perhaps he needs Rumple to be a good person again before he takes the dark one powers from him in order to reunite with Belle. We know Rumple sacrificed himself basically to save Alice. Now, perhaps Facilier is just waiting until Rumple is ready to be able to move on to Belle. Perhaps saving his grandson from the curse and making it up to Regina is what needs to happen…..This all just seems like a ruse to get us to think Facilier is a bad guy when he is actually not. To me, Regina trusting him like this is a huge indicator that he is actually a good person but cannot reveal it yet because of reasons.
Assuming Henry is not the Guardian, I want it to be Facilier. And if he is not the Guardian, I want it to still be Alice but somehow Rumple gets rid of the immortality clause.
thedarkonedearieParticipantThey better explain what Gothel’s motivations are. To still not have them at this point seems insane. I’m afraid that they are going to cram it all into this episode. I wonder if she is connected to Facilier at all? He did say she wanted the dagger too….but why? And why does Facilier want the dagger? I thought these questions would get answered in the last episode but they didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I loved The Guardian, but there are still so many questions with these two villains and yet we really haven’t seen them even interact with each other in the same scene. I really like Facilier too…..I really hope they close him out well. Because right now, he just seems like a random guy who wants the dagger for power. I still think that his connection to the dead, his lust for the dagger, and Rumple’s situation with Belle is all too convenient for him not to play a role in how Rumple and Belle’s story ends. Although, I really am not sure if I want him to be The Guardian, even if it does rectify Regina’s character for trusting him so much. They already had her say that she believed him when he said he didn’t have the dagger. Turns out, he didn’t, and Regina was right. So I’m wondering if this is all a ruse and Facilier ends up being a good person and the Guardian.
Also side note: Was Nook’s heart ever cured? I can’t remember. The last episode made it seem like Facilier had the cure but I guess that was only to facilitate the test Rumple gave to Alice. So am I not remembering something or is Nook’s cursed heart still a problem that needs to be solved….along with the whole Henry dying thing to break the curse that Rumple ruined last episode…….so many things need to get closed out and there really is only two episodes to do it before they go back to Storybrooke….
thedarkonedearieParticipantPut me in the camp of thinking it is still Alice and that he will find a way to rid the immortality that comes with it. Although, I kind of am afraid of this scenario….I don’t want some magical macguffin to appear and just take the immortality away.
What if it IS Henry (The boy will be your undoing), and THAT’S how they save his life!?
Jiminy, you and I seem to be the only people that won’t let this go. If Henry is the guardian and he ends up being Rumple’s “undoing,” I will be so incredibly satisfied.
thedarkonedearieParticipantAnyone else love that Zelena just simply acknowledged the “blonde girl” to Robin as if it was a normal thing. THAT’S how it should be.
thedarkonedearieParticipantYes, totally different witch and totally different Hansel and Gretel. I wish I could figure out when this H/G story happened given that Henry and Jack are the same age, or there about, I guess it happened when time started moving again in SB/EF 1.0/Oz 1.0 after Emma decided to stay in SB waaaaay back in S1
Right, but how are they different? Like I get the wish realm has our characters but they are different (Nook, EQ etc.). But if this is Oz 1.0, which was occurring during EF 1.0, how can they be different versions of themselves? They have to be the same right? Again, if this was EF 2.0 or Wish Realm it would “make sense” but with it being Oz 1.0, I don’t get how there would be the same characters but different versions of themselves in realms that were affected by the same curse….they just happened at different points on the time line. Does that make sense? Now I’m confusing myself I think lol….
thedarkonedearieParticipantI’ll even go one step farther and wager a guess that “Flower Child” will be a Gothel centric episode. Maybe even Facilier as well. It’s written by A & E, and they usually tackle the big episodes….and when it’s not a premiere or finale, I tend to take notice.
thedarkonedearieParticipantRight; I’m pretty confused as to why Facilier thinks Gothel wants the dagger when she’s never mentioned anything about the dagger in all the time we’ve seen her (which is far more than we’ve seen of Facilier)
Pretty sure it was supposed to just be a reveal. We kind of have been speculating what Gothel’s end game is and Facilier just gave us a hint that it involves the dagger as well. I’m sure we will learn to understand why she wants the dagger, and why Facilier wants the dagger, if they have the same reason for wanting the dagger, how that relates to the Guardian, and how Facilier was even able to wake these people in the first place. Ideally, Facilier letting us know that Gothel wants the dagger too will just be the first domino to fall.
thedarkonedearieParticipantI’m with the majority of people on here…..I quite enjoyed this episode. 8/10. For me, it is second to Beauty this season. Were there flaws? Absolutely. But the character moments for Zelena were absolutely spot on -present day and past. This was a great episode for a character I used to care nothing about.
Anyone talk about the low key backstory to how the wicked witch became blind? I thought that was kind of cool. But…here’s the thing, if we are in Oz 1.0, and that is the witch and hansel and gretel as kids, how are they still kids in season 1 when the witch is blind? Is this a totally different witch and different hansel and gretel? I know the witch is different casting but bc it seemed like somewhat of an origin story for her, telling us how she became blind, and since it didn’t take place in Wish Realm, aren’t we supposed to believe these are the original characters from season 1?
